So....When Are We Kill-Switching Sadako And Myers?
I've had two Sadako's do this to me tonight.

To be honest, it really seems like BHVR forgot they could killswitch issues with the game. I mean they did it with Clown but like every other issue has just been left in the gutter. Phasing into survivors on hook and survivors not being able to unhook would surely be enough of a reason to disable her, but I guess not.

Yea it doesn't make sense to have a kill switch for "game breaking issues" yet not actually use it to prevent game breaking issues. I'm guessing it's still not known enough to cause wide-spread issues but I hope they disable her or fix the exploit soon because it'll only become more common.
6 -
Maybe it will be fixed in the next update so they won't mind to keep her available for a bit longer?
0 -
Maybe they think it'll sell more Sadakos.
20 -
She should be disabled until it's fixed. I don't know why they made a killswitch if they're not going to use it for stuff like this. They're way too conservative with it, imo.
9 -
Maybe it's because "Sadako is an A tier killer"... she is so powerful that she apparently bypasses any killswitch.
6 -
Who knows. Maybe they didn't notice, or maybe they just didn't care. Just like with Oni, who is bugged for many months now. At least he will be fixed with the upcoming patch.
1 -
I don't know what you all talking about.
I played Sakado Yesterday and didn't noticed anything.

Sadako can phase into a hooked survivors and entirely prevent a survivor from being unhooked since survivors will not get the prompts to unhook (because the Sadako player is blocking it). It's been an issue for awhile now (like since before the midchapter update, I believe) however nobody really used it until after the midchapter update.
For perspective, it's kind of like facecamping back in 2016, when survivors could only unhook from a single direction. There is literally no counterplay at all to it.
11 -
Perfect time to killswitch her since not many people have been negatively affected yet.
3 -
Tomorrow earliest, since BHVR doesn’t have anyone working weekends.
1 -
Kill switching is just dumb to me anyways. Instead they should fix whatever the issue is. I haven't played DBD much lately because it doesn't deserve it right now and I'm having much more fun with MultiVersus so I don't know what the problem with Sadako is but they should simply fix it and not kill switch it. It's like in GTA (and wasn't this in DBD's past as well?) Where if you exploit a glitch in the game you could get banned in it. They made the bug. Fix the problem. Shouldn't start punishing players or taking away that content. It's really annoying for people who main that character or just have the feeling that they want to play them. Same thing happened to Clown for me and I just simply didn't play that day.

Facepalm
You know that fixing these kind of things isn't instant right.
The killswitch is there so no players are affected by it anymore while they fix it.
It's like there was a giant sinkhole in the road and you say don't block the road just fix the sinkhole instantly
25 -
Oh... Well that's a spicy bug.
1 -
Are we killswitching myers too since he can also do this?
2 -
I'd actually believe this sadly
2 -
Ah well, um.... you see, fixing stuff takes time, and if you fix it without kill switching it, the that's 50k something players exploiting the bug for their amusement at others cost, so you first kill switch something TO fix it
0 -
Myers does it also.
0 -
There is a counterplay! Just don't get caught! </killermainmode>
1 -
God yes until they fix the gamebreaking bugs we killswitch the gamebreaking bugs. That's what it's there for.
10 -
Then why didn't they kill switch breakdown i'm pretty sure they were able to kill switch when it happened but they didn't leaving kills no option but to slugg.
1 -
Nah, its not a game breaking bug guys. Just facecamping.
0 -
No clue.
Doesn't change the fact that this should be killswitched.
3 -
Hopefully since that's literally the function of the killswitch
5 -
It was already signaled and noted. Also other useless posts like this were closed here, and people guided to the topics in the bug report section. you can upvote it there, and that will be that. Kill switching being necessary or NOT for a bug that is up to the devs, it may vary depending on the severity of the case, you asking for it, will not change anything.
So probably opening topics like this for useless bait is not really smart.
So "WE" are not kill switching anything. They do if they see that it's really needed
0 -
Oh wow, I had no idea, that's a pretty big issue.
2 -
No what's dumb is that they told us about the Killswitch.....that's information that we never needed because we have people saying Killswitch this when it's not a Killswitch issue or we have posts like this of people complaining why they didn't Killswitch
0 -
To be fair, being literally unable to unhook someone does seem like a pretty big issue, yeah?
Considering Clown, a Killer of similar strength to Sadako, got killswitched for moving slightly too fast under specific circumstances, this seems like an easy killswitch.
4 -
Thanks, it's not bait.
Genuinely curious as to why Clown got killswitched for a way less game breaking bug and Sadako and Myers simply get to prevent unhooks.
3 -
This has been going on for a very long time with Myers but I figured the devs wouldn't do anything about it since they've said camping was fine for years now
0 -
Oh I'm not disagreeing on that not in the least I was just saying that they should of never told us about the Killswitch in the first place. Sadoko does need to be Killswitch until she is fixed and buffed.....lol sorry i had to do it but yea she does n ed to be KS
0 -
she hit and ran the killswitch
2 -
OR maybe they use it for actual gamebreaking issues, like it is designed for. A lot of thinks i see people ask to be killswitched are not such issues. I dont know about these bugs to be honest, maybe they are gamebreaking, but maybe they are not.
0 -
She is completely preventing me from interacting with a core part of the game and there's literally nothing I can do about it.
That's not gamebreaking?
10 -
I mean why would they. You cannot unhook against a face camping bubba and they are fine with this so why would they killswitch Sadako for having uncounterable facecamp
0 -
I don't think they care insidious Bubba is still in the game after all these years right, facecamp is a valid strategy, jUst dO gEnS
0 -
But you can unhook against a facecamping bubba, you just either trade or are unsuccessful. You literally can’t unhook against Myers or Sadako when they do this as the make the prompt unavailable.

What percentage of matches YOU had has it happened? What percentage of overall matches? Matchbreaking is not the same as gamebreaking.
Also depends if the killer can activate it at will, or if it just happens when the moon is full and the wind blows from the west while clouds shaped like ancient gods roll over the sky.
Because, you seem to refer to one instant. But is i said, i dont know about it. It might be gamebreaking, but your answer to me doesnt give any clue of if it is.

Camping being fine is not the same thing as exploiting a bug that prevents a survivor from even being unhooked. They changed PH cages because PH could completely deny the ability to rescue a cage survivor.
Also shouldn't this be in theory possible with Ghostface? Ghostface also loses collision while stalking.
1 -
From what it sounds like, it can be done at will and has been.
And.. what does that mean? "Matchbreaking is not the same as gamebreaking" The match IS the game, dude. They should fix exploits where certain killers can literally, and I mean literally literally, stop you from engaging with a core aspect of the game BEFORE it becomes a well-known plague.
4 -
how Myers do this?
0 -
Depends on how you define gamebreaking, but a killer being able to completely deny an unhook with 0 possible counterplay from the survivors seems pretty gamebreaking to me, especially when there’s a good chance not all the survivors in the match will know about the bug and that they can’t actually unhook.
4 -
It is very strange to me that this would not be considered "Game Breaking" but maybe BHVRs idea of game breaking is very different than mine.
I suppose this is the only time I ever ran into someone doing this so maybe BHVR believes it's not wide spread enough right now to kill switch it. Basically figuring as long as it's super uncommon, no need to remove two killers from the game for a bug that only a handful of killers are exploiting?
4 -
Can't believe 2016 facecamping has made a return.
4 -
Sadako is bodyblocking the servers to prevent killswitching her.
4 -
it is bait and actually was explained by the moderators in similar topics, that it's already in the bug report section where it belongs and they closed it. People were instructed to upvote there if they want, but the devs know about it. Now you can open new posts about kill-switch-anything you want, it serves zero purpose here and it is not considered by anyone, other than players following the forums who you want to bait with useless topics about kill switching one killer or another
clown was kill switched because it gained unlimited speed buff which was an issue with it's own ability. But so called facecamping is not enough for them to kill switch anything. I'm sure it will be patched eventually, and that's that
the title of your topic was: When are *WE* kill switching Sadako and Myers. You had your answer. "WE" are not going to.
But you can report people deliberately making use of exploits, providing video proof when you encounter this, and they might get a suspension.

Some may call it a bug. I call it strategy

I hate whenever someone says "BHVR probably doesn't know.... etc." cause like.. they're making the game, they're more on top of everything than any of us, they just can't disclose that they know until a fix is ready to be put out, that's exactly what they stated on the subject of hackers

I don't think Myers can do this easily if at all.
It's not game breaking because if players don't widely know about it, it won't be widely exploited and won't affect the majority of players.
With the Clown I'm pretty sure any Clown that used the yellow bottles at that time got that bug and it got kill switched fairly quickly because it affected everyone in a game featuring a Clown.
This bug is probably being exploited by less than 1% of players playing as Sadako so its effects are far diminished, enough so that it can be ignored. At least until it becomes more widespread.

Issues like this are absolutely a problem, but does anyone not feel like posts like this also apply to games where 1 successful sacrifice creates hook deadzones? Complete with people exploiting that to draw out the game as long as possible? This is a bug that should be fixed asap, but its kinda silly that objective denial arguments don't get carried over to there.
anyway definitely killswitch her, its worth risking upsetting the 5 people who bother to still play her, and myers players are certainly a sturdy bunch. They're used to mikey getting dunked on by players and devs alike.
