Project W seems a bit watered down?

Don't get me wrong, they nailed the visuals, and character choices, and cosmetic choices (minus not giving us Classic RE3 Nemesis). The CONCEPT for the Killer power, killer perks, and survivor perks all seem great.

But it feels like they handed us the nerfed version of the content.

Wesker's M2 Survivor detection being neutered, the lingering aura from Awakened Awareness being removed (allowing survivors to run off to Narnia by the time you find a hook and complete the animation resulting in no relevant info from the perk), Wiretap + Open Hand not being compatible despite it taking 2 perks slots + the perk descriptions 100% spelling out that it should, Better Than New losing it's repair bonus in favor of longer bonuses for things that no one is really going to care about, and whatever TF that Blast Mine nerf was, etc, etc...

BHVR played it ultra safe. I get it, the DLC was going to sell on brand alone. But man, BHVR dedicated last patch to shaking up the meta. I felt that was a great choice, but now they seem content to let this current meta become stale again rather than taking the risk of introducing perks that might possibly become semi-common with every new chapter.

This is why I wish DBD had a much more frequent balance patch cycle. Why not let things be a bit wonky and OP for a couple weeks after a major release? It would at least create buzz and interest about the game. I don't regret purchasing Project W, but I'm really not sure if I'll still be interested in the content by this time next week.

I mean I am kind of disappointed that Reassurance got nerfed. But other than that, I think the chapter was great.

Wesker is definitely still strong, despite his hit box being reduced. Yes it does give survivors a higher chance to dodge his dash, but I do not think that is a bad thing at all, considering the other buffs he got. It also makes him more skillful, another plus.

The Blast mine nerf was unnecessary but doesn't really have anything to do with the dlc. And Open Handed didn't work with Wired Trap in the ptb either.

In general I am very happy with the new update.

Situational Awareness got killed because of Nurse.

I'm not happy about it but I am glad Nurse doesn't have that perk.

Couldn't agree more, playing as Wesker with the current hitboxes feels really bad, maybe I just need to get used to it, but I def have been robbed from a lot of hits.

One of the devs (gameplay programmer) on twitter actually answered this

(The initial reply is asking if the reason was due to wiretap) but yes I do kinda wish it was explained in the patch notes
