never thought id lose to this...
heal squad who fell for easy shack mindgames, and were honestly not good at loops or mindgames. but they all ran medkits and booned a corner of thompson house with no gens and kept splitting up and hid behind gens so i couldnt use bbq. I played fair and got 0 kills and like 5 hooks XD
Btw im in no way saying anything is OP or whatever, I literally run an all aura build so of course gens will be my downfall, but just wanted to give a little post about this match

If they weren’t good, how did you manage a 0k five hook match? Regardless of their ability to heal? 🤔

simple, they were a swf who spread out and hid behind gens to prevent bbq value? why does everyone just assume that escaping as a coordinated swf makes you good? I downed them with dumb mindgames and within 25 seconds of chases. they sucked at looping and mindgaming. thats why i said not good, to me being good requires more than coordination

I mean. they were good tbh. they really knew how to counter ur bbq so thats skill, and they placed the boon in the optimal spot, and did all 5 gens? thats honestly skill. you dont have to be good at looping to be good

I know hiding behind a gen is a thing for BBQ, but i stg when I hide behind a Gen, the killer still sees me like I have a big "fresh meat" sign over my head that they somehow notice. Lol.

Sorry to hear.
If I may make a suggestion, try running Thrilling Tremors instead of Barbecue for a few games. I had a Nemesis use this on me last night and I fell for it because I forgot how it works. I THOUGHT he had Barbecue & continued working on the gen to the last second before teammate was hooked, but he came straight for me crouched down behind gen because TT didn’t prox on my gen. I imagine a lot of survivors will fall for this as well. Some may catch on, but by then you would have got some value out of it.
If you see a bunch of medkits maybe sub a perk out for sloppy butcher or franklin’s.

Veterans or experienced killers will notice that the red aura is slightly off and would be able to tell that there's a survivor, but newbies sure won't. After around two thousands of hours of playing the game, I'd say that it's easy and that you can no longer hide behind generators in case of Barbecue & Chilli's presence, unless the killer's hook has been at a different height level or the generator was positioned in an angle that'd make your aura stand off a bit.
For example, you can't crouch behind the generator from its rear and front sides, because your arms would be sticking out, but you may hide from its sides and only in cases of the mentioned height difference, as there's quite a lot of empty space between the generators (the wires that survivors do repeatedly manipulate with whenever repairing the generator from the side without gas tank and without a metal place covering them) that shall allow you to see survivor's aura through it. Yes, even such a silly small detail can help out by that much.

Oh, I never thought of hiding behind a gen as a counter for chili. That's actually really smart ! I should have thought of it since I sometimes can't see fellow survivors behind Windows of Opportunity.

It's... unreliable at best. Definitely doesn't work if you're actually on the gen, you need to be holding crouch for a smaller profile.

Yeah, and I'm guessing you have to take into account the angle from which the killer sees the gen, but if you have no locker nearby it can be a last resort I guess !

People very often think that looping is the only skill in this game but they are wrong.
Being bad at looping doesn't mean you have no hope for escaping and vica versa being a god at looping does not guarantie you escape.
You can fall for the simpelest mindgames but if you know how to make distance, know how to counter killer perks, know how to be effecient on gens and know how to stay hidden you still have good shot
Likewise being a god at extending chase usually ends up with you being left behind after a huge chase. It alone won't get you out of the exit gates alot of the time
It's kinda like fighting games where you can be a person who perfected all the combos and are able to do 70% of your oppoments life bar everytime you touch them.
That means nothing if your neutral game isn't good to actually get that touch
Being good or bad at one aspect of the game does not mean you are good or bad at the game in general
