Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

When Pentimento is active, Survivors who works on gens getting a notification in the bottom right like Dead Mans Switch etc.

Dont sure what I think about it. Maybe just reveal every Perk from the beginning to survivors?

Damn these survivor sided devs adding useful tooltips to provide some more information (game breaking!), for example to survivors working together on a gen who would already see a 'red bar'. When will killers ever get something nice in return?

Hex debuffs should always be telegraphed, otherwise survivors don't know to counter them by cleansing the totem.

Not having it displayed until the survivor is actually effected by it however is in the killers favour, so that they get some use out of it.

I had multiple games in the past where I was under pentimento without recognizing it. Sure I saw the red gen repair bar, but that could have been anything (Gift of Pain, Thana, two-man repair without proove, etc). So I really appreciate if the perk really is shown now. It's also in line with other perks reduing the speed (again Gift of pain & thana).

We always got a noti but it was extremely easy to miss. I swear if felt like it only showed for 1.5 seconds in small ass font. Hopefully the noti is more noticeable now. I need to see it for myself. Does it stay on the screen like Dying Light? If so, then good.

It's really stupid that survivors get warned beforehand, that makes the perk so much weaker. Imo the warning should be shown to the individual survivors when they were under the effect for the first time, but not before, similar to hex perks.

    Totems perks are terrible

The reason is because of how they have dissolution working. If you wanted it to hide itself, it would have to only work on the one survivor you injured during the active window.

As it stands right now, if a survivor across the map steps in a bear trap and becomes injured, the perk activates. The survivor being chased 75m away, who is healthy, vaults a pallet that then instantly shatters with no warning.

Surely you can see how that's a problem. The perk is 'working as intended' but is completely counter intuitive to the survivor in that case. It feels random, and more specifically it feels like a bug. At least with the notification there's some cause and effect, even if the reason the perk is active isn't 100% clear.

Imagine if boil over gave no notification until the survivor wiggled out from a fall. Same concept.

And you can still chase survivors into positions where they are forced to vault a pallet, even with the notification of what will happen.

Ok, lets change the perk then:

NERF: Only the survivor being injured gets the effect applied.

BUFF: Icon removed, survivors have to keep the perk in mind (like with spirit fury)

Sure that takes away some utility when multiple survivors are present (e.g. body blocking), since a pallet will only be destroyed for the recently hit survivor. But it would make the perk much more useful in 1on1.

When the Hex icon and red bar is just not enough.

It’s displayed in the bottom right like dying light is, yeah. However it’s only there while working on something that’s currently being penalized by it. If you leave that objective, the icon goes away (and then comes back when you resume).

It still shows the cursed symbol too the way it did before though.

(Fun fact on the wesker ptb this was actually bugged and it was shown to survivors from the start of the match so hiding it was impossible.)

that's alright that doesn't really hurt the perk it was just really confusing if you missed the notification when it first activated and you wouldn't know what hex was in play.

however a perk like dissolution shouldn't have a notification it hurts the perk a lot.

Can you imagine the reverse? Imagine if survivors standing in a boon were revealed to the killer be standing in a boon by their icon. The killer would also know what kind of boon.

Once again we have a situation where the Hex/Boon totem problem shows extreme favoritism to the survivors.

    Ahhhhh ok, cool. Thanks.

Yea that’s an interesting fun fact- I’m sure a lot of survivor mains would’ve loved if the PTB version went live. I’m happy with it as it is now, though.

You physically saw "Hex:Pentimento" pop up and got cuesed when you got the effects applied to your actions since release.

What the hell is the point of this thread?
