What’s the point of even playing?
Title. Y’all really that salty about being downed? 5 gens left, meat packing plant, all dc’d as soon as they went down. I let last one get hatch. And y’all complain about solo q.. THIS is one of your main issues.

Yeah. Over half the complaints about solo queue are about having "teammates" who AFK, suicide, and disconnect. You're proving our point. Solo queue sucks because of this kind of stuff.

Solo queue has always stunk. It didn’t just begin with people quitting.

I didn't think I was implying that. I guess I should've said "in part because of this kind of stuff," but I wasn't trying to overthink my response. Of course lack of communication, being the random with a trolling 3-man, being the victim of someone's Tome Challenge, and getting lobbied with people in extremely different MMR brackets also contribute to how awful solo queue can be.

People who DC after getting downed need to have some EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE penalties. Minor time-outs are clearly not enough.
Like, if your computer DCs you accidentally, that's one thing. But when the disconnect happens when you're downed or just about to be picked up / hooked, that's somebody obviously pulling the plug. It makes the game miserable for both sides and frankly, DbD doesn't need them. Lock them out for a month or something.

I am always puzzled about those who DC in protest (ie ragequit) the second you hook them when they were on death hook or the last one remaining. Chill, dude, why ragequit and face 5min-72h cooldown when you could just wait 10s?

Because they're not being punished hard enough for it, so they'll do sad little "you didn't win" moves like that.

I mean. First person is a scumbag for D/C. The second and third, I mean, yeah, thread title but for them. Someone immediately D/C on their team and the game is already over - what's the point of even playing?

Literally this is what I am complaining about with solo queue (well, this and Eruption.) My teammates will ragequit even when they have an amazing map or a weak killer because going down first means they have to commit seppuku. It's impossible to play in an environment where your teammates won't.

Did the gates close? Are the generator done? Are you all instantly down and on death hook? No? Then the game is not over.
Does it blows when one of the teammates DC? Sure do, I hate them. But I don't give up for that little. 3vs1 is still winnable.

Winnable? Sure, at what, 0.1%? If someone only has time for 3-4 games in a night, they might not want to stick around to scrape out a once in a lifetime win that nearly every time just wastes their valuable free time.

I was going to play super easy on them after the first DC’d. I play survivor a lot too so I understand the pain when somebody rage quits off rip. Hell, I may have even let them all out after getting some bp for myself. I hit iri 1 already so I had no need to try hard.
I always see it through to the end as survivor. You never know. I’ve had some amazing 3v1 comebacks.

I detest rage quits, but for one, I agree.
I do think there should be repeat violation escalators to get to that point (and perhaps ultimately to permaban) for habitual ragequitters, though.

Game doesn't need people who do that. It ruins 4 other people's experiences and pitiful, non-existent bans do nothing so they keep doing it.

Yeah, but no. Nothing bare literal game breaking justify DCing. If you think you've lost, then hook yourself to death. That's solidify your loss. Besides, if your time is so important as to warrant a DC because you consider keep playing to be a waste of time, I'd suggest not playing altogether since your time is so precious. Or find friends. Or play killer.

Believe me, I understand the sentiment. But I think we have to account for a human being a human occasionally.
I have been playing this game for 3 years now, and I've ragequit once (in a moment of singular frustration, in my earlier days, against a FL bully SWF), and immediately felt kind of ashamed for it. I don't think someone in a similar circumstance deserves a month off.
Now if you're a player who DCs multiple times a play session, that is something else entirely. Like most things, I think there has to be some nuance to it.

But the truth is, that a lot of killers are happy about it.
Just today I had a game with my duo. 1st chase, one of randoms goes down and insta-DC. The 3 of us left in a game continued to try (the other random was OK). We managed to even do 4 gens. Against camping, hook-trading killer with ebony mask trying to mori each of us...
Like - makes you wonder if going under hook after 1st DC isn't the right call after all.

This happens because if the Blight is even half good there is no way the solo survivors are going to win, so instead of wasting their time vs a blight they just leave.
See loads of streamers choosing blight/nurse etc and they're "challenging" themselves by staying afk for the first 3 minutes or something stupid like that then starting the game with a disadvantage.
It's not that they're good.... it's the fact that the game is heavily favoured to play as SWF otherwise you don't stand a chance.

No point staying in a boring game where the majority of killer players has no other playstyle but camp and tunnel. I played this game many hours per week when it was still fun. I barely play it every other month just to get confirmed that it still sucks like crazy.
Maps get modified more killer friendly with every patch, pallets removed, windows closed, perks nerfed to oblivion.
And killers just stroll tight circles around the first survivor hooked even if there are still 5 gens to go.
When I play the eventual killer game I do not even need to make much of an effort to get 3-4 kills.

....Blight. It's almost creepy how often Nurse/Blight players go off about this. How's it's a surprise to them at this point, I'll never know. Maybe instead of asking survivors to suck it up and stay to get farmed, you suck it up and play a different killer.
Perhaps Clown? Hag? Twins?

Yup. Complain about the cough and not what's causing it. Treat the symptom and not the disease. The disease is Blight isn't fun to go against. As long as there are killers that feel BS to go against, you will have people DCing or throwing themselves out of the game on first hook. Don't pretend there aren't killer players out there that DC the second they see a map they do not like.

It happens when I play all killers. The “disease” is cry baby survivors who can’t stand losing. I’m literally running addon-less blight AND on Gideon. That map is so good for survivors. I’ve never once DC’d because of a map, or at all for that matter. Can’t say I can recall a time I’ve had a killer DC because of a map, and it’s a subjective truth. How could you possibly know?

The whole game is in a bad state. I think there should be stiffer penalties for DCing, but there should be stiffer punishment against camping and tunneling killers early game aslo. will never happen cause both sides are enttitled. The point of the game is to get points, there is no win condition but people think there is. It's a sad community as a whole really.

thankfully it doesn’t happen as often as it did when the patch first dropped. I still have lots of fun on survivor. But I see a decent amount of DC’s when I play killer.

It's not just Solo Queue, there's clear groups who also just play like ass or toxic and then dc if it doesn't go their way, and then complain. Survivors still have a lot at their disposal to battle against going solo, if it's that much of an issue why not just bring a key with Left Behind? Or Mikeala's Perk let's you find hatch for a long time, or a map (which also help you find gens! without a perk!). Overall though, it affects groups just as much as solo. You know how many 4th survivors just die or do the same thing? The only point to prove is Survivor gameplay needs work

I will end the game the moment I go down against Blight period. The fact that he can swing around corners removes any real counter and he's not fun to play against. I don't care what add-ons you have. The killer itself is just annoying and a waste of time. I'll do gens until I go down. Then it's out and off to the next game. You want to play the character that wins every game, well congrats, you win. I'll move on while you finish.

Clearly you represent the survivors in my post lol. Blight has a ton of counterplay. Go play some blight and tell me he’s “op”. Perhaps work on your looping skills and blight won’t be an issue for you.

I have 2100 hours in the game. You can swing around corners. You cannot just juke the swings. Blight, like Nurse, auto wins if played well. Waste of time.

Considering he's on par with nurse in terms of power, neither does anyone else. Could it be because he's overturned? Nah. Game isn't balanced unless survivors spawn on hooks when the trial loads.

nurse - negates pallets, negates windows, negates floors, negates walls, her power counts as a basic attack.
literally none of that applies to blight. Blight can be looped just like any other killer.

I could counter that infinite loops should come back and you should have just learned to "git gud" yourself, but that's equally as asinine.

There’s nothing wrong with you not having fun against blight. I love going against blight. I hate going against clown and legion. It’s all opinions that we’re entitled to.
But as somebody said in the other thread, just because we don’t find a killer fun, doesn’t mean its OP.
And I’m referring to your statement about blight and nurse being on the same level. I gave you a clear and solid arguement against it, and you ignored it.
