Match making timeout for getting disconnected...
My friend and I have been playing DBD a bunch lately and he keeps getting disconnected mid match. When he first got disconnected the wait wasn't too long, maybe just over a minute. However now every time he gets disconnected his time doubles. Is there a way to fix this or prove that he isn't leaving the match by rage quitting or some other unfair reason? Is there someone we should contact?

They cannot differentiate between a lost connection or a manual rage quit, so they just have the one penalty system for all.

Nope. If he communicates with customer service they'll tell him to restart the router and all that rigmarole. Then when all avenues are exhausted they'll tell ya to contact your internet service provider or the company that made the pc or console you're using. They won't even mention the fact that other players can access your ip address in game and ddos you.
You could always try though.

Why does he keep getting disconnected?

Why?
No system in the world can differentiate between your internet cutting out from your modem, ISP, a blackout or you unplugging the lan cable, deactivating your wifi adapter on your PC or shutting down your router yourself.

Where is there anything rude in my comment? Oo
Sorry if you feel personally addressed by "you" but the English language uses the same to address directly and generally.

I'm not sure if its his internet or not. He just randomly starts lagging out then disconnects. Poor dude just wants to get his tome finished.

I'm sorry he gets so many random disconnects that his penalty time is high. If it happens that often he really shouldn't play until he can fix the connection issue. He is ruining many games for all the other players as this game is not balanced around survivors dcing in first 3 mins. Not to mention all the items and offerings that just got wasted because the game is a near insta loss when that happens.
There are literally tens of thousands of other games you can play together. Lots of coop ones that handle players dropping in and out just fine. Don't try to play a competitive team game that depends on every player to stay in for 10-15 mins.

Thanks for the advice. Most times its so far into the game it doesn't effect much except for his points. So I'll let him decide weather he tries to play or not.

That could actually be the most critical moment. People are the most invested by then. Maybe he's the last one that can unhook or he needs to open gate while another loops?
What has he done to troubleshoot the connection? Most people don't get regular disconnects. I've only had 1 in the last 300 games and I'm suspect of that being a hacker's involvement (was strange shenanigans someone was doing just prior).
