Killer could use a set BP incentive window.
Title.
Since the patch and it's release, I've seen a killer BP incentive maybe twice for like half an hour.
It's literally always on for survivor.
Might be a decent idea to have a set time every few days or so to swap and guarantee one or the other.
Killers shouldn't be left out because no one wants to go near solo q.
Update---
Thanks for your informed opinions and sound rebuttals, I'll take them under advisement.

I don't think that would be a good idea since the point of the incentive is to ease matchmaking times. If there is already a need for survivor players, having an incentive for killer would just make killer queues longer.

The incentive is basically to offset the horrible experience of solo queue so be glad you're missing out. But it's an incentive, nobody needs incentive to play current state killer vs survivor
2 -
If they hurry up and make solo queue feel a bit more friendly, that ought to help killer queue times by shifting more people into the less played role naturally. Messing with the equilibrium will lead to really really long queue times.

Hence why it should be only every few days or so... It's not fair that survivors are getting all this extra BP and killers aren't just because no one wants to play dog&*%$# solo q.

oh yeah, i'm sure the devs are hard at work to ease the burden of solo q. jfl

The incentive is for the side that needs players, if you want the incentive play the side that gets it.
I generally see it almost every night around 11 or midnight central time.
2 -
But it IS fair. It's entire purpose is to encourage more people to play the role that needs people. Survivors need people. So they get the incentive.
If/when killers need people, they'll get the incentive. Because they need people.
You're asking for several days of killer queues being even worse, and frankly, I don't want the help right now.

I have seen killer incentives. It’s just when I’m normally in bed sleeping in the off-peak hours of the game. Maybe when they finally decide to fix solo q, it might be more likely switch throughout the day.

Indeed it was like this before the patch for killers. Back then no one wanted to play killer because it was such a miserable experience against all the DH and overtly strong survivors, so that was tempered a bit by giving killer a much bigger BP reward and making it easier for them to cap out in the different categories. Also BBQ stacks were easier to come by then WGLF stacks. It wasn't unusual to make around 100k per match as a killer.

But it wouldnt be fair for killers to get an incentive to play when they don't need one and survivors do. That is the point of the incentive
1 -
In theory yes, in actuality no.
If people actually wanted to play both sides evenly and you had off hours for each, then it would work well.
No one wants to touch solo q, because of that, there is rarely ever a killer incentive.
Should the devs fix the game so more people want to play survivor? Yes.
Will they? Probably not.
If they're going to put a band-aid fix on everything, they could at least ensure it goes both ways.

The incentive should be used strictly for matchmaking purposes. We can't make exceptions, although if it was on killer all the time, which I'm surprised it's not, survivors would complain that it's never on them and the devs would cave to that. It's better to leave the incentives as is.

No what wouldnt be fair is giving killer incetives when they already have long queue times and making the queue times even longer.
0 -
How is it fair that survivors are consistently rewarded twice what killers are when we have to work twice as hard?
0 -
My queue times are fine. Never more than a minute or two. Yet, no bonus.
0 -
Or even better to give us back BBQ and WGLF stax. I would stop complaining then.
0 -
Still longer than my survivor queue time.
2 -
Just increase base BP gain even more, that's it.
No need to mess with incentive.

It's called an incentive, not a reward. It is meant to incentive people to choose the role that needs more players. This isn't some kind of conspiracy against killer players. The devs have stated that ideally there would be no bonus bp, as the goal is to have queues balanced between the two sides. If there is an overabundance of killer players in your region/mmr bracket, then the survivors will have the incentive.
If there is an overabundance of killer players and then they put the incentive on killer players, then you will have ridiculously long queue times. That was I think part of the reason they disabled the matchmaking incentive when it originally came out, because it was stuck on 100% survivor when it didnt need to be, causing very long queues.
2 -
You know incentive and reward are synonyms right? Lmao
0 -
They already did better than that by decreasing bloodweb costs, if you want more BP then play the side with the incentive.
1 -
Similar, but not the same thing. Although now that we are the point where you are arguing semantics, I don't think you are being genuine and just want to argue.
2 -
No. 400% wouldn't get me to touch solo q.
0 -
Nothing wrong with that you could always find a group to play with.
0 -
No. I genuinely believe in my post, and my subsequent ones defending it.
0 -
There is no need to incentivise the majority role to play.
That’s not the point of the incentive.
2 -
I don’t get why, the game is still fun to lay even solo. But each to their own.

Assuming the incentive system worked when it came out with the anniversary event, you would've seen BP incentives for killers every night with how fast killer queues were and how long survivor queues were. Wesker + changes to the game making survivor harder than it's been in the past has hard shifted the balance where it's pretty much always on survivor (though I have seen killer get 25-50% occasionally in the evenings when the post-work-SWFs get on). So at a time where people either finish adapting to the meta changes and base game changes or things get changed to favor survivors again, I'm confident we'll see nightly killer incentives again - it was like that for years, so it'll go there again.

It’s been weeks since patch 6.1.0. It’s time to abandon this belief that people still need time to adjust. The adjustment period is over; what you’re seeing is the new norm. There are no indications that anything at this point is going to revert or change. Killer queues won’t become fast again until BHVR in some way meaningful boosts survivors. And while I personally appreciate the changes survivors have recently received, increasing basekit BT and making Reassurance weren’t enough to encourage players to queue up as survivor.

More players moved onto play killer. Just how it is. The incentives are there for a reason.
0 -
Ohhh. See, now I know what your actual problem here is.
That clears things up.
3 -
The whole point of incentives are to persuade people to occupy the side needed for faster lobby times. It's in the name. It's called incentive to do something. It would make zero sense to give incentives to whichever side is over populated at a given time to make the matters even worse.
4 -
I think you dont understand the purpose of the incentive.
The purpose is that you, the person who wants to play Killer, has a shorter queue time, because not many players want to play Survivor. So they get an incentive to play the role which is more needed so that the other role has a shorter queue.
If you would just set the incentive to Killer, even for a short while, while it is not needed there, you will just increase queue times for Killers during that time. Probably that much that the incentive would not matter anyway, since you would get less games during that period of time.

Yeah this isn't a Christmas morning thing where everyone gets a present. Just like how survivors were complaining during the meta shift patch notes about how killers got given so much and survivors got very little in comparison. That was the point. Admittedly I think they did too much at once but that's neither here or there for this point.
The point is that it's an incentive. An incentive to stop playing killer and help the queues move faster by playing the role that needs more players. It's not a 'everyone gets a present' deal. If the meta was like it was before where killer queues were near instant (at least in my region) Killer would have the incentive.
Besides, even with 100%, if you get camped early or just have a difficult game where you can't do things to earn points you are going to earn less points then you would if you have a bad game on killer. A bad survivor game gets around 6-8 thousand, a bad killer game gets around 16-18 thousand unless you are really struggling and the killer has far more control over that experience. The point is earning bloodpoints on killer is much easier then on survivor. Which ironically means if bloodpoints are what motivate you, it's not enough to actually to stop killer mains playing killer.
According to BHVR the incentives are working and I can agree with that despite what I just said.
3 -
That's... not how it works.
It would literally do the opposite of the incentives' purpose. At killer guaranteed times, everyone would play killer and queue times would be abysmal.
Killers shouldn't feel cheated out of incentives. They have shorter queues and as much bp as before. Incentives are always on survivor precisely because at the moment, killer is the most desirable role for a variety of reasons.
2 -
The incentive for playing Killer is having a statistically higher chance of winning. No BP bonus needed.
2 -
Reward, noun: a thing given in recognition of service, effort, or achievement.
Incentive, noun: a thing that motivates or encourages someone to do something.
Bonus BP % is the incentive. The total BP you make at the end is the reward. It’s not the same thing. Hope this clears things up for you.

Lmao. Thanks for that, made my night.
