That nerf was unnecessary in the worst possible way.
You want encourage less toxic behavior? How about fixing the only two perks that actively rewarded fair gameplay.
You've increased the grind, destroyed solo q, and failed to offer BP incentives for killer.
You can keep DH, but BBQ and WGLF were hurting nobody. Bring them back ASAP.

The bloodweb price cuts alone have effectively replaced BBQ & WGLF bloodpoint boost.
To your point tho... I think there is something to be said about the influence BBQ had on killers' playstyle.

I'd even argue it's a pure flex after P6 - the charms of the perk icons are...not something even as a completionist and someone who tends to enjoy showing off hard earned things I've gotten that I'm interested in. Bloody outfits are worth it so P6 is valid, but the perk charms...eh.

It's still a grind regardless of whether the levels offer functional reward or just mental milestones.
Why do people play Dark Souls? Why does anyone do any arduous and challenging task?
Obviously, there's value in it.
That being said, to set the cap so high and remove a vital perk that helped compensate for the lack of BP gain on both ends, was unwelcome and unnecessary. Even with the bloodweb reduction. Which ironically, was another band-aid fix to try and appease players who share my same position, I'll add.

Yeah I mean bbq stacks were a good incentive to go for the full four hooks.
Now the main incentive is to get those DH stacks for the Insta down and mori but totems often get cleansed so quickly that it doesn’t pay off as consistently as BBQ used to.

Yeah, I think a lot of survivors have trained themselves to observe a little while on the hook. Most killers will do a sort of quick search around the area and take a second or two to pick their next destination. If I see a killer heading away very quickly and they aren't heading directly for a team mate in the distance (BBQ) I'm immediately suspicious of Devour and will actively keep an eye out for a totem since I know how bad a match can go when that thing hits full stack. The second someone goes down on an insta, I drop what I'm doing and go hunt.

I love Devour but it goes down in like the first 2 minutes every match I run it. I don't bother anymore.

They really were not. You could still get double BPs after tunneling out one person, which was a really bad design.

I hope they dont bring the extra BPs back. There is not really a reason to, the grind was reduced a lot. Arguing that you can now prestige until Level 100 is not really a good reason, nobody needs to do it, it is completely optional.
Bringing back double BPs to BBQ or WGLF would just make people run those Perks even if they dont really want to or need them, just because of the fear of missing out.

Bloodies and charms are optional. Why do people still feel the need to progress and get them?
They offer tangible value as a reward of showing dedication to the character(s) the player has invested in. no?
The same can be said for prestiging past p9. I'm sure you've seen quite a few players past that point in your lobbies, yes?
I'd argue it's for the same reasons I've stated in a previous comment. There's value in the numbers, or players wouldn't bother.
Not to mention you would still need to keep spending anyways for add-ons and items, so there's no reason not to.

People still run BBQ as it's an incredibly valuable perk on most killers.
WGLF is clutch in slugging situations and was a good BP insurance policy in case of toxic gameplay at worst, and a terrific bonus at best.
Adding back the BP stax would change the usage, and for the better. If you don't like them, don't run them.

I won’t lie - I wasn’t the biggest fan of the prestige rework, I definitely got short-changed by the Prestige 9 cap on the switchover. But I have to agree, the restriction in bloodweb costs is a really healthy, good change. You can level characters up way faster than before. It used to take ~1.4M BPS to get a survivor from level 1-50 now your BPS go so much further.
It’s nice that you can get up to prestige 100, but this is down to personal preference. I’m not interested in getting anyone of my killers or survivors past Prestige 9. The rewards end there, and by then they know all the perks in the game for me 🤷🏼♂️
I’m literally concentrating on getting my last couple of survivors to Prestige 9, but I suppose I do have time on my side as I’ve been playing for around 5 years now.

BBQ was affecting perk variety massively. It should never have gotten the bp bonus in the first place, it was a band-aid for the grind that people became attached to but now they've taken it off and addressed it properly.
WGLF was dumb. You could hook bomb a survivor and get 2 tokens, 1 for protection hit 1 for safe unhook. Unlike BBQ, it did not promote wanted gameplay, it promoted throwing. The new wglf effect is also very cool especially with FTP.
If you want the same token system you can use grim embrace or no way out.

Thats the thing! Every killer hat BBQ equipped (well, the vast majority) because of the BP bonus and a lot of them wanted 4 stacks of BBQ, even if they got no kills, so they spread their love around. And while they hooked someone they often saw some juicy target somewhere in a good position and decided to go over there, leaving the hook, enabling others to go for saves. All in all an excelent perk for both sides.
BUT it sorta locked in as a semi permanent in most killers builds and it often felt like you were just playing with 3 perks, because the extra BP were just THAT useful. So while the extra variety in killer builds is awesome, the healthy playstyle that BBQ encouraged is gone.
So here is my solution: give killers a sort of mini BBQ as basekit. When hooking show the killer the aura of the furstest away survivor (minimum 24m) and give them a chunky speed boost to get over there, something like +15% speed. This bonus only applies as long as the killer is moving towards the direction of the shown survivor, is not in chase and is something like 16m away from the target. This will incentivise even slower killers like Myers or Trapper to leave the hook and go roaming, because most of the time when killers camp it is because they are lacking a target and/or the means to get over there.

If nothing else, the BBQ and WGLF stacks are just good game design, offering more objectives for tangible rewards. They can off-set a bad outcome too. If the killer gets full BBQ stacks, that can off-set the bad feeling of getting only one kill. If a survivor gets full WGLF stacks, they might care less they got hooked in EGC and camped out.

No thank you. While you might be inexplicably drawn towards having to max every character, I am inexplicably drawn towards maximizing my bp gain within reason. Being able to feel like I can run a fourth perk besides BBQ is incredibly liberating. With the changes to the bloodweb and prestiging, the time to get a character to fully playable in perks and addons is perfectly fine.

I definitely think BBQ stacks were great for the game. They encouraged fair play from killers by giving the another objective while BBQ's still current effect usually gave them a target far from the hook. I think it was the greatest perk ever made, to be completely honest.
I wish they at least gave us a base kit stack tracker like this:

I only started playing with the 6.1 patch, but giving bonus points based on perks seems like a strange game design (I remember arguments about this back in Deathgarden, ugh).
If there are certain game designs that the developers are trying to encourage/avoid, the reward for following those should be increased victories. If you want to give bloodpoints for it that should just be a base part of the game.

I never understood the argument that BBQ incentivizes better gameplay. I mean what do killers do after they hook everyone once. Or a killer can still camp/tunnel at 5 gens and they'll still get their 4 stack eventually.

I'm convinced half the campers just don't know any other way of finding survivors but they win just camping without BBQ so why put it back on.

For me I found BBQ & Chili to be a good incentive. I wanted those bonus bloodpoints. I usually was willing to take a bad chase against a good survivor earlier in the game to ensure I got all 4 stacks. I found that if I played like a scumbag, survivors would often DC and deny me a stack. I played almost every killer game before 6.1.0 with BBQ.
Since 6.1.0 only my Huntress and Artist use BBQ and for most other killers Save the Best for Last has filled its spot. My only objective is to kill since I don't have to care about stacks anymore. I find myself playing less fair than I used to.
I know I don't speak for all players. Some players always camped and/or tunneled and don't care about bloodpoints. Some players try to play fair regardless.
But I know BBQ worked in making me play a more fair game and I doubt I am unique.

It wasn’t a solution to tunnelling it was an extra lil incentive to at least try for all 4 survivors.
