Can someone help me with this?
I suffer from OCD and I am so scared of getting banned by easy anti cheat for using custom perks, I am too scared to play the game anymore, I am scared that even if I deleted the custom icons a long time ago and don't use them anymore I will still get banned someday for changing the files for such a stupid thing. I regret doing it even if a lot of people use them and they told me that now nothing bad can happen about this. Can someone make me so that I am not scared anymore? I don't want to lose my progress and I want to still enjoy playing the game without freaking out. Everyday I think of that and it's been almost a year

If you already deleted the files, you should be fine. The anti-cheat is not going to flag your account from the past, fam. It is reading for programs and whatnot installed at the moment. That being said, plenty of content creators use those custom icons and they are not getting flagged by anti-cheat. I would not use them myself, as why even take the risk at all, but seriously, you will be fine. The Buddha gives you his blessing.

thank you my dude I just want to know that is impossible to get banned after deleting them

I've got a question tho, If you delete them is it the same thing as if you never used them?

This is your 4th forum thread asking the same thing, you're gonna get the same answers. Idk what kind of answers you're looking for at this point. EAC doesn't ban for these, and mods don't either.

Sorry dude I can't control my OCD it's horrible

I understand, but it would be a lot easier to just not use them at all maybe :/
Since none of the answers you are getting seem to ease your mind.

I don't use them and if I didn't use them in the past I would't ask these questions now

Then you're fine, getting rid of them means you don't have them now so what's the problem?

the devs already answered this. The answer basically was. They are NOT encouraging you to do this, because if EAC picks up at any point your changed files, and autoban you, the BHVR team will NOT unban you. Not a case of they can't, but they will not. So as they said "do this at your own risk"

From what I understand, that anti cheat thing hasn't ever actually banned anyone from using those, that warning is just necessary so people don't get any dumb ideas.
Although IIRC BHVR did say that if they did ban you, there isn't anything they can do, again, probably just a false warning, but if you already deleted the files you are more than fine

is it the same thing as if I never used them?

As far as I know, it's just your current state that they would look at

is it really? That means that people can use hacks and if nobody reports them they can just remove them and be fine?

Right click DbD in your Steam library and click verify game files. It should change anything back that needs to be changed. Not much else you can do aside from a clean install of the game. But EAC isn't going to retroactively detect a security violation from X amount of time ago. This is the same program that thousands of hackers bypass on an hourly basis. DbD isn't exactly Fort Knox.

So as long as I dont use them anymore I should be fine forever?

I also suffer from a different type of OCD than yours. It's brutal at times but manageable. Seeing a doctor about it has helped immensely. If you haven't you should see one.

So as long as I deleted them nothing can happen to my account? what if they decide to check the files from the past tho?
