You’re gonna give survivors the ability to pick themselves up every time they get downed without needed any perks??? Why?? I understand being slugged can be boring but it’s very common when killers are trying to secure the 4k. Please make this make sense because I’m confused.

You do know that slugging a survivor to immediately chase another is a slow down tactic early game? You force another survivor to get off a gen to pick up their teammate while you chase another. That's three survivors not working on gens. If survivors can pick themselves up nobody is going to come for that save so you are forced to abandon chase on a survivor to pick up the slug. All the while two other survivors never stop holding M1 on a gen.
The ability to create early game pressure is now lost.

It's not 45 seconds. It's 22.5 seconds. They are making unbreakable reduce recovery speed by 100%. Everyone will be running that or tenacity.

And thats why the basekit UB is gonna be great! All those Nurses with Lethal and Infectious now can't just down 3-4 ppl within the first 2 minutes of the game anymore but will actually have to play the game (some) shocking!!!

Really interesting change, we knew that slugging was on their radar and something was coming. I honestly think this is the fairest change they could have went for.

I don’t feel like slugging was that problematic because it’s not like it happens a lot. Just when a killer is trying to secure the 4k.

This patch won’t even stop slugging for the 4k because if you have two survivors left, one is down, you can still slug one of them and try and kill the other in the 45 seconds before they get up to get the 4k. And if you take too long and the other survivor gets up, you still can probably down one of them and try again, repeating as necessary until you get it or they finally bleed out.
I think the more important change is how this might impact when you slug a single survivor midgame. For instance, say you down someone under a pallet and there’s another survivor nearby. If you don’t slug the dying survivor there’s a good chance you’ll get pallet stunned picking them up. But with this new system if you chase the other survivor and you don’t down them in 45 seconds then the dying survivor gets up and you’ve gained nothing.
Also if you slug a lone survivor for pressure now the other survivors know they don’t have to revive them so will stay on the generators unless you chase them. That means slugging for pressure might still be useful but it’s definitely going to be a bit weaker.

While it happens in less than probably a third of my matches. One time spending a full 4 minutes on the ground is too much. It isn't fun for either side. I experience it at least one to two times a play session and each time I don't feel like playing another game.

It's actually 11 seconds with Boon: Exponential and Unbreakable together. Add No Mither, 10 seconds. throw in a survivor being downed next to a pallet and other survivors are crowding it. Happens more than you think.

Yeah, let's nerf all the killers just because Nurse is broken! That makes a lot of sense! I'm just saying this bc your reasoning is flawed and one of the reasons the dev keep nerfing decent killer perks into the ground. Also, base kit UB isnt even going to hurt the nurse with the new mori system. The nurse is like the only killer who can down all 4 players in like 45secs lol. Either way, I dont mind this changes tbh but I hate your reasoning.

This effect renders being knocked down meaningless and forces pick ups that may not be the best play in the moment.
Being slugged and bleeding out are appropriate threats to face when playing survivor.
This change is nothing more than trying to placate tantrum throwers who can't stand the 4 min timer.

But if the scenario calls for you to slug over hooking that downed survivor... well you may as well not bother now because slugging as a tactic for pressure is largely void if survivors can pick themselves up.

Being left to lay on the ground for 4 mins is boring. BHVR is trying to remove a boring element from a game that is supposed to be tense and exciting. They are going to test out an idea.

But its only a select few scenarios where you bleed out for the 4 mins, a blanket built in unbreakable is not really the solution to that.
I'm all for them testing things but this one really is a bad idea.
Where's the threat of being downed if you can pick yourself up?
Its an escalation, you get chased, wounded, downed. Escalating threat is essential to an exciting game experience.
You can escape from chase unharmed, you can heal yourself with various mechanics or get healed, but once down you need a team mate or specific limited use perk to help you... that's an appropriate escalation of threat given what it takes to be downed.
People may say that DBD isn't a horror game, well let me tell you watering down the escalating threat is one sure fire way to make it not a horror game.
You take the horror out of DBD and what do you have left, a scooby doo chase simulator with really dull repetitive mechanics.
There are so many dull pvp games out there where you just respawn endlessly till you hit max time/score I'd hate to see dbd start going that way.
Why have dying state at all if you can just undo it for free whenever you like?
Your rationale for this is people don't like being slugged, well I say those people don't get why its a good part of the game.
It really does feel like pandering to the "waah I don't like this delete it" crowd. Which we all know are the worst kind of gamers.

lol what? this is not about the slug for the 4k, it's about an incoming Unbreakable meta which makes killers like Oni or Twins unplayable because you can't use their power probably

True. You know what else exists? A restriction that allows the killer to run no more than 4 perks. Also how exactly do you counter sabotaging hooks? Probably run agitation, right? Pallets? Well, there is bloodfavor. So now I have 1 perk slot left just because I basically have to ensure that I can hook the survivor immediately.
Killer is gonna be a whole lot less fun to play if this goes live.

The threat of being downed is it's a step to getting put on the hook. That's what the game revolves around. Find, chase, hit, chase, hit, pick, hook. At multiple points during it the survivor and/or his/her team may be able to knock the process back a step. I'd say the thing killing the horror element is the slugging, not something meant to encourage its removal. It's always weird to get put down and then see the killer run away.
The killer skipping the last steps is a tension killing slowdown. The Killer eats up more time while not progressing the main objective (sacrifices). Worse, when done with two survivors it ruins the game.
Maybe the changes as proposed go too far. I suspect the times of unbreakable will be nerfed a lot. Maybe the bleedout timer will need to be adjusted to like 2:00. Something like that would still give survivors reasons to pick up their allies to preserve bleedout time. However, that's what playtesting is for, but overall it's addressing an area of the game that needs attention

The problem with a change like this is that is beyond extreme. Imagine if they said ok survivors now get unbreakable base kit but Killer regression speed is equal to the repair speed of the total number of survivors that can potentially work that generator.
That is a theoretical equal exchange.

I disagree with you on what makes the game threatening, the more avenues to elimination beyond just hooks the more threats there are to face. That's why moris and bleeding out are kind of an essential part.
Its not hard to prevent hooks, even easier now that you are time limited on the pick up as killer. The safer you are as survivor the less interesting the game is, built in unbreakable can make for some really safe scenarios.
I do agree though that if the bleed out timer was shorter, making being picked up essential, a base kit unbreakable could be easily justified. You can pick yourself up but it eats a really threatening amount of your bleed out timer.
Its only a test we'll have to see how it plays out but I'm not overly thrilled at the prospect.

Increasing regression to that rate would be, if I understand the math correctly, a 9 times increase.
Right now a survivor takes roughly 30 seconds to recover on their own, and a tap from their teammate. The proposed change says 45 seconds to recover, no need for a teammate. That doesn't seem like that tremendous a change. The issue of unbreakable comes up, but it's possible that gets changed after testing and/or people misunderstand what BHVR means (as I've seen a few people suggest).

Funnily enough gens can be done even faster now thanks to Hyperfocus + Stakeout. I don't care about slow down because I find it boring (unpopular oppinion, I know). But no one in their right mind can think the situation I pointed out is healthy. With these changes walking around in pairs of 2 has basically no risk anymore which will also mean that those situations will happen more often.

I remember saying self-policing doesnt work for toxicity nor in this game or any other, it was either people starting to play a bit less toxic or it was going to be the paddle, I guess its paddlin´ time. I also remember a lot of Killer mains saying slugging is not so prevalent and it happened only in very rare ocassions so Survivors complaining about it was entitlement, suddenly they announce this change and it looks like slugging is the only way to secure any kill.

Its +1 perk slot to the survivor and an ability that is so strong that normally it can only be used once per game.
BT was the only meta perk to get buffed; and not only did they make it base kit they buffed it a second time which is also insane.
