Unbreakable at the base that's the last straw
I don't understand why I would want to continue playing as a killer with such abuse.

What really dosnt make sense is that with the new Mori system....the game ends if everyone is slugged....but if they have perks or the new basekit they could get back up but no it's game over regardless....

I understand your fears, but wait until PTB to try it out and see how it goes.

That's one of the main reasons this mechanic is being tested. Killers will sometimes slug survivors until bleedout for no reason other than a power trip.

Honestly I don't see this affecting my own killer games much so far at this point. Keep in mind that currently it takes 30 seconds for a survivor to get themselves to be one-tap away from being revived. So if I slug someone then around 30 seconds later another survivor can have spent 10-15 seconds of their own time off the gens moving to the dying survivor to revive them. Now in the new system, barring Unbreakable, the dying survivor will take 45 seconds to stand back up but it requires no other survivor to help. So the base 45 seconds is kind of a wash time-wise with the current system, and it can even be a slight buff for me as killer if I slug someone for 40 seconds or less before going back to hook them because the 45 second timer can make it harder than the 30 second to get back up before I get back.
Also if you happen to be playing a character with strong chase or hit and run potential, and you've already killed one survivor, then the 3v1 might become more dangerous for the survivors in the new system because if I can down or hook one of them the chances of me immediately ending the game by downing the other two could be pretty significant. So the new mori system can speed up the endgames and also prevent some possible upset comebacks survivors might otherwise make.
Of course there are downsides for killers too. If a survivor is downed at a pallet, for instance, and another survivor is nearby, you may have to settle for simply having that one under the pallet incapacitated for a bit while you chase the other survivor to maybe hook them instead. And depending on how it works out in practice it could be that the base 45 seconds is ok but the 23 seconds for Unbreakable is too fast. Fortunately if either the 45 seconds or the 100% bonus on Unbreakable are too strong all the devs need to do is adjust those numbers to be more reasonable and the system can work fine.
So for most killers and most games I don't really see the new system being too big a swing either way, certainly not enough to get all up in arms about. 🤷♂️

My prediction for the PTB: everyone is running UB for that juicy 22,5s self pickup. Killers will notice this pretty soon and after a couple of escaped survivors will pick up and hook immediately.
Some survivors will bemoan that the new UB is a scam because they get never slugged, most others will adapt and use other perks and eventually we will have normal games with many hooks that occasionally, when no one expects it, end with a sudden death when 2 survivors got already sacrificed and the others get downed and the occasional clutch moment when one survivor gets up while the last one gets downed, taking the win out of the killers hands, while looking defeat in the eye.
The End.

What about people that don't do that?
What about Kazan Yamaoka and The Twins? Killers who are designed to slug.
What about low tier killers that actually benefit from slugging because it gives them momentum?
Granted I agree with wait til the PTB, but that more like a perk thing rather than a mechanic thing.

That is pretty much how I see it going. I'll be honest I'm one of the few who probably won't bother with the unbreakable perk, not to be noble or anything like that, I just don't see the point. If I'm left on the ground, chances are I've spent time crawling off and recovering, no different than what I'd usually do when slugged, only this time I may well get myself up before a team member finds me.....unless one of them tries to heal me while they're being chased (seriously stop doing that, we crawl AWAY for a reason.
The positive I see, from my side of the game, is fewer games where I'm slugged and used as bait or bled out for the hell of it. I do think that killers that maybe had to rely on slugging should be looked at for more viable means to get their kills, and I'm usually neutral or at least somewhat balanced when it comes to killer tactics, but I'll be honest, I'm really not sorry to see the tactic made more difficult to accomplish a 4k.
And if they roll it back, I'll do what I usually do and crawl away, forcing the killer to follow AWAY from my teammates to keep an eye on me, forget me long enough to get healed or get nervous enough to hook me.

You'll enjoy waiting 20 mins to play Survivor, we believe in you!

How is that a power trip? Wouldn't a power trip be them being the power role and always pushing for changes that maintain them as the power role? It's not something you can do in-game as much as it is a mentality.

Indeed, this change does literally nothing to camping, killers can camp like usual and win like usual!
0 -
Can't hit and run, can't tunnel, can't camp, can't slug. How about can't even down next? Although certain killers like Hag and Demogorgon already experience that.

I always have my drawing apps while waiting for a match

no one forces you, go do something better. maybe grow up?

I mean don’t slug people for 45 secs and you’ll be fine? Almost no one runs unbreakable because it’s really rare to get use out of it so why would it change after this update?

1) Slugging is sometimes necessary to win. Regularly slugging survivors for more than 45 seconds at a time being necessary is debatable.
2) Anything that can be abused will be abused mercilessly on the ptb, just like we did for stacked endurance
But I will say if this does go through they really got to nerf boil over. Maybe consider not having hooks permanently destroyed either.

Like who asked for this? There's always a chance of KOBE or random unbreakable. Why does the game need to end if everyone is downed? BHVR just be doing stuff just because.

That's what I mean though I would get if it was a 4 slug grouping where the Killer won't leave all 4 Survivors but if the Slugs are spread around the map.
I have seen mobile Killers able to down everyone within 45 secs before but that's a extreme circumstance when nobody wanted to heal, but I digress the first slug would be ready to pick themselves back up while the Killer was on the other side of the map. Tbh giving a option after 2 mins slugged to instantly bleed out would be better than the game just ends.

C3 I just love your art....they all are just so cute! You also gave some love to Crow Mama too.

It still takes time for survivors to pick themselves up. That's still beneficial to the killer if they're slugging intelligently. It's wildly inefficient for a team to leave someone on the ground for 45 seconds, and no survivor perk has a higher than 20% usage rate (or something like that) now. People have created this scenario in their mind where slugging will somehow happen often enough that survivors are going to run Unbreakable en masse for 22.5 second pickups. It's not rooted in reality IMO

Yeah like people assumed the basekit BT would lead to more people running actual BT just to strengthen effects that are already there. I don't see unbreakable becoming more popular.
1 -
If you have to slug for more than 45s you were losing momentum regardless the new ub does basically nothing
1 -
So let's blow up the balance of the game because once in 200 matches you might have to tab out and watch YouTube or get a snack for 3 mins? Seems reasonable!

Right now is a low risk, high reward strategy since slugs cant do anything unless they have Unbreakable and they want to change it to high risk, high reward, you go for 4 slugs you have 45 seconds to pull it off or people are going to start getting up but if you manage it you win, it will also make Survivors be less aggressive because swarming the Killer has the potential of ending the game no matter the perks you have or the number of hooks around.
I belive the change will reduce drastically the amount of pointless/petty slugging and the amount of very aggressive Survivor plays under certain circumstances like all 4 Survivors being injured.

It's not wildly inefficient if that survivor stays on gens for 45 seconds where before they would have to run across the map and back to the gen. That's a huge boost to gen efficiency.

I have alot lot lot of Artist drawings, because I use her to express myself : D

People stopped using BT when survivors got default 5 seconds of endurance + haste. And even before that it was uncommon in solo queue. I personally haven’t seen it since 6.1. I can’t remember the last time I saw UB. Most killers pick up and hook immediately.

How often do you really slug for 45s? You've usually already won or lost by the time you slug and slugging for that long is a pretty bad play anyways. You slug for a quick hit, not for 45s. I doubt it will have much impact.
0 -
So you don't run regression perks to blow up a gen for 15%? Because a survivor on the ground for 22.5 seconds is more time not on a generator than a single Pain Res regression. How often are you guys slugging and why? That's if they have Unbreakable. Are we actually saying an injury plus 45 seconds on the ground, or essentially 3 Pain Res procs is a net efficiency boost for the survivors? And this is *if* we're slugging in the first place, which doesn't even happen every game. People are losing their minds over this.

Put yourself on the other side, it is far greater abuse being left on the floor being incapacitated. Slugging was overpowered.
0 -
Slugging itself is underpowered. You need a good reason to slug, since you're skipping your winprogress. You need even more winprogress in return, which rarely happens. And if it happens, it shouldnt take 45s to achieve.
It is annoying to get slugged for 4 mins, so im cool with that
0 -
Slugging can bypass your winprogress and prevent survivors from doing theirs. When one is slugged, the others have to stop doing gens. That obliterates solo queue. Another bad problem with slugging is denying the opportunity for hatch. Majority of killers slugs the 3rd survivor and prevents any opportunity for the fourth to get the hatch. That is not fair.
0 -
It does a worse job than simply hooking in terms of winprogress and stopping gens. You slug cause you have the opportunity for a free hit. It has nothing to do with soloqueue. You overstimate the power of slugging, its a situational thing, not something inherently strong. I get slugged for the 4k maybe 1% of the games btw

Yeah, if basekit unbreakable hits live I'm leaving the game. It makes the scenario with survivor slugged under a pallet in a decent tile with other survivor around completely unwinnable. You pick up - you get pallet stunned, you chase other survivor - downed survivor picks up himself.
0 -
Ok, but killers got a lot of buffs these last couple of patches. And please keep in mind that the Mori rework and basekit Unbreakable are just going to be tested in the PTB and not implemented in the actual patch. You never know how it will work out.
0 -
The hatch is not fair,is just a free out for a survivor even though they lost.

Do you have a gallery or something? Would love to see your work more.

Slugging is killer dependant really when you're gauging how strong it is, while trapper may not be good at that , Any high mobility killer for example could use it as a strat and win the game faster than they would normally, there are like 5-6 killers who have a viable slug game and the rest are pretty much a gamble where you have to have everyone in a bad spot grouped up, these changes that are coming benefit killers more than survivors and people don't even see it yet, there's no reason to leave survivors down for that long if you know it's a bad time for it and you auto win now with no chance of anyone getting up or wiggling out or anyone of that if you pull if off quick, you're gonna see alot of starstruck after these changes and people going for the win as soon as they get that first proc

Survivors needed something for anti slug that wasn't just a bandaid fix
Killers have so many abilities without perks that don't require addons or offerings
Survivors only have healing others, doing gens, entering lockers, unhooking others, opening chests, dropping pallets, and cleansing totems without perks the other things survivors can do require earning items to equip or finding items in chests to use against the killer

You'll have plenty of time to improve your art then!

I really do : ))
You can search my name on Twitter for alot of more, but its mostly YuiRin ship arts : D
I have 2 main styles, painting & sketchy, I use sketchy for DBD memes

Yeah i agree, some killer might get hit, like twins, myers, oni, maybe plague and ofc nurse and blight. Has anything been said about the base recovery time? If that increased to 45s too, you could slug for longer before they can be picked up, which would buff slugging in a way.
Not sure how strong the autowin will be. If you can manage to down everyone, you'd win currently aswell, except for a clutch unbreakable. Those starstruck 1vs4 instawins are probably still a nurse only thing.

Aww. Would love to see some funny wraith art on your style. I really like it.

I rarely draw Wraith because Wraith is my most hate killer. The fastest way to search a certain character that I draw is typing

people actually crying about not being able to leave survivors on the ground forever on end, holy ######### just ######### hook people, or hit the guy nearby you wanna hit and go back to the downed guy.
