The “That killer wouldn’t fit the game” argument is dead now.
Now I’m not attacking behavior for their recent killers.
Wesker is great, however with the addition of such out of place killers into this game to me the “that killer doesn’t fit the game” argument is dead.
If we can have Wesker, we can have springtrap, alien, a giant spider.
whatever.

So what you’re saying is, Shrek can be a killer in DBD?

I think he is. And he's right.

Based

Giant Spider won’t work unless they could figure out how to animate it to travel through narrow pathways.
SpringTrap won’t work because it’ll divide the community since the fans of the series were super annoying about it and have left a sour taste in many mouths. Also there’s some controversy with the creator supporting certain political groups. I hope it never comes because I’m a spiteful bit*h and haven’t forgotten the ruckus fans of the series caused when we were speculating on who the next killer before Cake Daddy Pyramid Head dropped.
I don’t see why we can’t have an alien. It would probably be as large as Demopuppy. They’d just have to come up with interesting ideas for its powers and abilities. Something like The Forgotten Twins powers would work, just less clunky and dependent on slugging.
We can’t have a killer that disguised as a Survivor. Everyone thought that would be Legions power but SWF is a thing and it wouldn’t work in this game.
They have lots of possibilities, it’s just not easy to make them all real. While I like original characters, Licensed ones are the money makers. I just hope for Chucky one day. Oh, and Oppai Vampire Lady from Resident Evil.

Not before Donkeys mutant children make it into the game!

imo its been dead since trickster came out

Not sure how Wesker is considered out of place.
But the argument that "x is out of place" has always been trying to justified someone's personal opinion. Ultimately the devs can add anything they feel like adding to the game.
19 -
tbh I couldn’t care less what it is if the devs do a good job with design and balance, unless it’s a license made by a POS of a person
2 -
I unironically still would like Springtrap. Also yeah that Legion trailer is really misleading huh?
7 -
that is true. i think the range of killers in the game is pretty huge now. as long as the killer is capable of murder, it doesn't matter what it is. people were really opposed to trickster, but he's still here. i would say wesker was more well received than him.

Do you find the man in the sunglasses and leather jacket who spits one liners with his cartoon deathray villain voice scary? Sure he's from a horror franchise but he is not a horror character in of himself. And horror as a theme is something that should be maintained.
All of that said, I don't care if something is "out of place" or not. It's all good fun. I legit want a Scooby-Doo tie in (not a chapter really, just cosmetics. Although a chapter would be cool, if maybe too extreme of a level of silly even for DBD)
2 -
What are you talking about?
Wesker is one of the main villain of one of the biggest horror franchises in videogaming and kinda overall. How did he not fit before?
also big spider, alien and springtrap all work regardless (except for maybe a big spider as animations need to fit) - problem with Alien/Xenomorph and Springtrap have always been the license holder and/or BHVR not wanting them in? But they are coming from horror franchises..
Trickster is a sociopathic serialkiller who kills for fun and records his victims screams to incorporate in his art.
Nurse on the other hand.. was just a nurse who lost her husband. Wraith is a dude that got tricked into ‚killing‘ people.
Legion are just some teens.
(also Trickster as the others I mentioned is an original creation and doesn’t really say anything about licenses eligible)
i really wonder what people have against Trickster other than flashy/bright outfits?
7 -
My theory on the Legion trailer is that it's how they wanted them to work at first, but they quickly realized it couldn't, and left the trailer as it is.

Horror is pretty diverse and horror can simply be more than an individual character being scary. It would be far more limiting to the game if the devs had to make sure every character fitted some arbitrary meter of scariness for their character designs.
Wesker is from a horror franchise and he is one of the main villains in the franchise. He fits perfectly fine.
1 -
We need the spoon killer man. Matches would take at least 24 hours, but other than that, a killer idea!
2 -
Trickster Laceration but on m1's
4 -
When they released Trickster I was like: hmkay, weird. He does not fit.. But since Wesker yea. Feel like a free to play mobile game released another hero.
It just looks silly and surreal. For dbd.
That's why I'm hoping to see Voldemort once they become desperate, trying to make money out of everything.
I also hope we'll see Vecna in the near future. Would be so great! So many possibilites to get creative.

Daddy long legs, tall, but slender.
Like slenderman, but a spider.
2 -
It's not something people can really quantify objectively. I don't think he does, that's my opinion. My friends all think he's the funny "just a guy" killer. Not some monster or serial killer or faceless masked mysterious person. Just a dude who says dumb crap mid match. I love him.
1 -
Then how about another SAW chapter?
Mark Hoffman as Killer (with a different power obviously)
Jill Tuck as Survivor (an interesting character for perks)
0 -
Apart from he looks like a survivor and runs like the other killer that doesn't really fit. Not horror, scary, intimidating at all, just a cheesey Felix lookalike from the 90's 😅

Trickster. Lore wise he's cool. Design wise it's gross and def doesn't fit the game. Like cmon. A neon animeish killer that has a futuristic bat that makes Lazer sounds and neon knives
0 -
Yeah, Wesker is funny at BEST
0 -
There’s definitely licensed characters that make way, WAY less sense than Wesker. I don’t think we should have a real estate scammer as a killer just to get a Scooby Doo chapter, or a chapter for The Scranton Strangler from The Office, etc.
2 -
Hahahhaa, imagine you are doing a gen with friends in B. Swamp and you hear "somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me"
1 -
I don't buy that reasoning. Esp. with Alien or a giant spider, you have some fundamentally different character models and movement. So even if you put the "doesn't fit in the game" argument, they still likely won't come just bc of the technical hurdles it would pose.
1 -
Its not his backstory that makes him not fit; its his cosmetic designs that make him not fit in dbd
0 -
sure but only if they use the dirt burnt face on him
0 -
After Trickster's inclusion, I think basically anything vaguely horror themed can fit.
I like Trickster and I'm glad he's in the game, my opinion on him has changed over the time he's been in the game but his initial design was a jarring shift of tone compared to the others.
Especially considering he was the first killer to spout understandable lines in the middle of a trial. If you think about it Trickster paved the way for Pinhead/Wesker's voicelines
2 -
It could be fun, though I don’t know how it would be much different from Sadako. It’ll be the killer just jumping from animatronic to animatronic, not unlike teleporting from tv to tv.
The spite in me wants the devs to do their own copycat version and use creepy dolls like this:

Why because horror things need to be muddy and bloddy to be scary? If he was a mid west rock artist no one would make a fuzz but because he is Korean and rocks a vibrant color pallet he "doesn't fit" and even gets called homophobic slurs.
We have that wierd elephant clown and Santa clown but Trickster is to much I get it.
They should make a German nazi doc and put him in hilarious Bavarian cloth and I bet no one would say it's not a fit
2 -
Oh? I've never heard up this concept for his power "from animatronic to animatronic"? That sounds cool.
0 -
I'm still hoping for The Thing. They could do it by spawning in animals for you to mimic.
0 -
Found the guy who doesn’t understand that horror isn’t just scary men wearing tainted clothes with a mask!
6 -
Agreed that Wesker does not fit. He reminds me of a brooding high school dick that’s angry you messed with his perfectly, over gelled hair and also pointed out his ‘sunglasses inside’ look died in the 90s.
0 -
Wesker doesn't fit but Nemesis does?
0 -
Zurg from Toy Story, make it happen
0 -
The man's is bangable I don't think you should wanna bang a killer
0 -
People find more than have of the killer cast attractive.
0 -
Shrek is love. Shrek is life.
1 -
They could make it crawl on walls and ceilings. That would be pretty awesome
0 -
reducing it to lore is the wrong approach. nurse is an incorporeal being that can appear and disappear at will, only speaks in gasps and dying breaths, and chokes out anyone she kills, stealing their breath.
wraith is a completely invisible monster wielding a human skull as a club, yes he is humanoid, but his proportions are off.
try to think of what would happen if you encountered these killers irl with no knowledge of dbd or lore.
0 -
He's a highly trained super human that has murdered many many people. Sounds like a horror character to me. Trickster is still a mass murderer. We have killers like Trapper, huntress , even nurse that are human looking and almost every way. Wesker isn't really that out of place.

"GET OUT OF MY SWAMP!!!!"

Idk, a guy who throws knives at me in rapid speed while taunting me doesn’t seem that nice as well.
i do think that some variety and diversity help here a lot and that Trickster is pretty well fitting in the slasher/horror genre.
0 -
Tell that to all the fans of Pyramid Head's cake factory. There's pretty much a circle of R34 for every killer.
0 -
I would say after demo got into the game, back when they only said it has to be a "human" form killer.
Sure trickster is another example.
0 -
That’s what I’m hoping the Xenomorph would do.
0 -
I love the variety of killers that we have now! It leaves so much room for possibility.
0 -
So when we adding my main man the xenomorph
