Excuse me, but isn't this rewarding slugging?
From the PTB patchnotes:
- Once all Survivors are dead, in the dying state or have escaped, a Finishing Mori is triggered, and the game ends.
- Other Survivors on hooks are immediately sacrificed.
- The last Survivor to enter the dying state and the Killer are teleported to a special location on the map for the performance of the Mori. Other Survivors on the ground are killed by the Entity.
Doesn't this mean that slugging insta-ends the game?
The way this reads tells me that if you slug at 5 gens you auto win, basekit UB be damned.

Yes. This was already implied in the dev update. The whole point of basekit UB is to give survivors a basekit way to prevent this from happening.

It's not, because slugging was already rewarded with insta win before the patch .
There is no difference beside people won't waste time like before, so basekit UB is literally a pure survivor buff, ridiculous one.

yeah if you manage to slugg 4 people within 45 seconds its an insta win.. I can think of 1 killer who can do that. You know who it is? lets see if you find out.
Thats why i dislike anything about this, from the insta mori to the ub basekit. One screws over soloQ hardcore, the other screws almost all of the killers, even completely destroying some. (twins for example)

If you can slug everyone within 45 seconds of the first down, I kinda feel like either the survivors massively messed up or there's some other massive balance problem happening there.
Of all the potential issues with these new mechanics, I honestly don't believe this is one of them. It's probably fine.

You act like killers have the ability to currently slug 4 survivors at the start of the match and they just choose not to.
Just try do it yourself in live and you'll realise why people don't do it.

You can, it happens, AND this absolutely rewards scummy play.

If all survivors slug it out within 45 seconds, we consider it a survivor problem.
However, we need to address the need to play for the goal of 4 slugging from the beginning itself because of the unfinished finish mori that no one wants. To combat this, the developers added a base kit unbreakable.
I think it should only be base kit unbreakable when the "last survivor" requirement is met. It works well enough on its own.

And it's not even slugging at 5 gens/ 4 survs.
It's the slugging for the 4k matches that will be much more common if things go live like that. If you want matches to be 41-min exercises of tediousness, be my guest.
This change can easily manage having matches last less than 3 min, or longer than 40
Also: 45 sec of ONE ANOTHER. You all act as if I said '45 sec since gamestart'
but 45 sec of one another is perfectly possible for a number of killers.

But slugging all 4 survivors right now is still a win unless they have unbreakable or wiggle out which is extremely unlikely.

It rewards slugging when the Survivors play too aggresively for their own good, swarming the Killer will be more dangerous because you can risk a game over in 45 seconds, especially if the entire team is already injured.
On the other hand it punishes slugging as a mainstream strategy when Survivors are playing conservatively since people will just get up over and over without the Killer progressing the objective.

Or you have someone with Deliverance on first hook (or they get lucky in general with unhooking themselves), boil-over, flip-flop etc, as rare as they are, were also options.
I had matches that started with slugging at 5 gens and ended with 3 people escaping because that one person got lucky and the killer couldn't repeat the slug. This kind of thing would be gone with this version of the mori.
Honestly:
Making yellow mori basekit is not a bad idea, but make it optional. Let the player decide if they are going for the kill, hook or be merciful. Keep green and yellow moris an offering as they are atm. Scrap the 'bonus bloodpoints' thing, let us instead just sell unwanted items to get more BP.
I understand the idea is to prevent holding the game hostage, but I have seen too many killers trying to slug for the 4k when there's only two survs left, some in matches that thus lasted up to 1 hour.

Yeah it's possible, but does it matter at all? if ALL survivors are bad at chase to the point they all get slugged within 45 seconds (which is 11 seconds for each chase, oh god how), they will lose anyway.
And it's already the case even before the patch.
Countering deliverance is easy, just wait till they reach stage 2, so is boil over or flip-flop: just bleed them out.
So yeah, it's a win unless unbreakable or such exists, it's a killer fault when they lose after that.

Slugging all 4 survivors is already a win for the killer. This just speeds up the process.

No, there is video evidence of several killers earning this without survivors just standing there. Additionally, it doesn't have to be all 4 survivors. One can be on the hook and the other three fall apart. Two can be on a hook close together and the other two fall apart. I get that it's not extremely likely to happen, but it's not such an uncommon event and again, several killers can do it legitimately.

Just running away from each other can net at least 45 seconds in basically any situation, I'm sure that will not happen except some random all solo q matches.
And again, that's an issue for the killers not seriously trying, only thing that can help them from that situation is self pick up perks only, anything else can be countered by bleeding out.

Pretty much. You can probably expect a lot of Starstruck, Haunted Grounds, anything that makes you slug fast and hard. It won't pay off if you can't get everyone on the ground in 45 seconds, but if you can, big results.
I think people will have to split up any time it's possible, like every game is Legion game :(:

I highly doubt it will roll live with their current idea, I think things will change when it hits the PTB but I guess you never know. I do like the idea of making it a choice for killers and selling unwanted items to get more BP has been asked for a decent amount of times, would be nice to have.

its an issiue for soloQ. And it becomes an issiue because of that devs want to implement UB basekit. So i rather dont have both instead of having nurses early kill us in SoloQ and on the other hand have bully squads taking the advantage by denieying my first hook and not fear consequences. I cannot down 3 other people within 45 seconds. Thats way above my skill.

Like there is no reason to rescue slugged one, you don't NEED 3 survivors to save a survivor from the hook.
Literally just hide for 45 seconds and they will be back.

Yeah, that's a good point. But then they go on the hook uncontested and the killer is going right back to a gen. It seems pretty clear that BHVR still wants killers to be able to slug when they see an opportunity to convert some value from it, but not be able to slug simply because that's what they feel like doing. It is now situational, and that is fine.
Edit: Also, 1 person DCs and Surv's know they lost? They can help the killer end the game REAL fast and go next with this. Which is kind of cool.

which kills the teamplay aspect even more. SoloQ alredy is "me alone and if i CAN help them i will, but if dont oh well, maybe i can get hatch." but healing is like the most interaction you have with others aswell as picking up, besides the gens but on soloQ most of the time you work alone on a gen.

also what about 3 healthy survivors body blocking your first hook. Usually i drop the one im carrying and go on and hunt down the other 3 until i manage to get another one or at best slugg all of em if they keep remaining in the close area. 45 seconds will never be enough, i dont care how well you think you play, i know that i have my limits. And i want to be able to enjoy the game without being target for bully squads.

If your team can't get up within 45 seconds (22.5 with unbreakable) then you guys deserve to be mori'd and killed

How about 22.5 seconds? Because EVERYONE will be running unbreakable to abuse what they think will be "infinite life" when all the killer has to do is run lightborn and pick up the survivor

It punishes crap survivors for being so bad at the game that an entire team of survivors cannot handle one singular killer for 45 seconds.

I suggest running an anti bodyblock perks. There are several that will immediately discourage that kind of altruism if it starts to become more common.

you alredy have to have at least to gen slowdown perks in order to have a chance... then i only can take the same ash 4 perks with me? i rather play not then, this is just a bad idea with ub basekit no matter how hard you try to deny it.

I think the biggest misconception around this game is that you get to choose how you want to play. It's a competitive game. You're not picking your opponents, so you're beholden to how they choose to play, not how you want to play. If you want to be casual there is KYF, or there is accepting that some squads are going to indeed style on you.
That was true even before these recent updates.

Unless you have Unbreakable (which is going to be basekit) or other self-pick up perk it's always a win. If the killer can't reach a hook he'll just let you bleeding out, and if you're on your first hook any smart killer will wait to see if you kobe.

Gen slowdown perks are optional. Especially if survivors are swarming your hook attempts.
You also have 4 perk slots, you can pick and choose as you need to.
