I cannot stand this...
I’ve always been a killer main. For a while now, I’ve been a plague and artist main. They are, in fact, pretty powerful killers. I am not the worst at them, so results have not changed a lot in the few months which I have indulged and dedicated in these two killers. However, a week ago, I played Freddy for a challenge. I brought the best perks (which I reckon is Eruption, STBFL, Pain Res, Dead Man), and best add-ons (not that he has many or any), and unfortunately got swamp. The survivors were all on comms and 2 had toolboxes with brand new parts and repair speed bonus, the other 2 had medkits with syringe and charge add-ons. Huge map+toolboxes+medkits+swf made my early game dreadful. I was very frustrated at playing such a weak killer and getting such good survivors and a huge map. So, after 3 gens popped and not a health state taken, I dc’d. Yall might think that I’m just salty, but in the end game lobby I saw 2 stake out+hyperfocus and 2 prove thyselves. Usually I’m pretty optimistic about the game’s future but I cannot stand with every game having stake out+hyperfocus with brand new parts. Since then, I’ve been playing weaker killers such as myers and gens have been popping dreadfully fast.
Weaker killers cannot do anything against these combos and, if paired with some horrible maps in dbd, the survivors will become very unstoppable. Now I understand why there are nurses who run starstruck agi and tunnel /camp. It is a fearful experience to have these broken perks and items in dbd, and such terrible maps.

This is called adapting to the current meta. The second chance meta was nerfed. The endurance meta was nerfed, Welcome to gen jockey town. The tools were removed for survivors to hold chases, MMR is based on escape and killers action speeds were buffed. Couple this with the insane amount of slowdown in the game and you get games where people don't take as many risks; so punishing altruism is nerfed.
You must have at least 2 people on gens at all times or the killer just snowballs out of control after the first hook stage. So people compliment their build with perks to make riding gens faster.

Survivors gen rush at every opportunity. To counter this, run 3 slowdown 1 detection, or 4 slowdown.
Survivors are always responsible for the meta of this game as they hold the majority of the power every match.

And that is why killers such as onryo or wraith who has no chasing potential, is now even weaker than before. They cannot get downs and cannot pressure off gens.

Yes and this is where the game gets unfun. I and lots of others don’t want to run 4 slowdowns. But we’re forced to. However, survivors are not to blame. And I don’t see anything BHVR can do either, as new metas will just pop up.

slowdown perks mean nothing if you can't actually get downs and snowball, especially given that most good ones (eruption, jolt, pain res) require you to down survivors. m1 killers simply aren't getting downs against survivors who use their brain and run to the god structure or window of a given map each time they're chased. alternatively holding W to any given corner of the map is perfectly viable. this is all assuming that the standard pallet loops have been used already.
the disparity between killers who are forced to hold W and eventually basic attack vs killers who can reliably use their power to quickly get downs is getting worse and worse, just like the disparity between solo q and swf.

Yep, and in the ptb, with the basekit unbreakable and finisher mori, the difference will be even larger. M1 killers will no longer have the ability to slug. Even killers like oni and my main plague will be unable to use the full potential power, and they are by no means op in their current state. While killers like nurse and blight who are able to get downs quickly and recover quickly will be even stronger with the finisher mori. Not saying that it’s a bad patch (it sort of is…), but BHVR needs to recognise this problem and address it.
