Wait... the word PING is only censored when used in a sentence with other words, what the hell?
I just noticed in an endgame chat a really weird chat filter effect: I mentioned a survivor had "more than 100 ping". Until then, fine. Then I typed another sentence with the word "ping". Only "ping" got censored, nothing else. Than I tried typing the word alone... it didn't get censored. Than again as part of a sentence: censored.
So I noticed it didn't get censored when it came after a number or when it was the only typed word. But when it followed or was followed by any other word, it got censored.
Seriously, It's past the time for the devs to stop ignoring complaints about the chat filter. It doesn't work properly, it's quite unpredictable, it makes communication harder (specially for non-english speakers) and it doesn't even do its job right, since it lets many insults and swear words pass anyway.

as a console player, i'm glad i don't have to worry about such a silly issue. If people truly wanna send you something that's worth being censored, you'll get a message along the lines of [This message potentially contains harmful or offensive content.] and you can uncensor it if you so choose.
Your chat filter really needs to go

The censor system is an enigma. It's common I see one person say a word that is obvious (and innocent) based on the context, no matter how they try to type it it's censored. Then another person can type it, the exact same word, no problem. I've seen some odd wordfilters throughout the years but the DBD one leaves me baffled.

The word iri is censored. Like every killer has 2 iri add-ons.

It's ridiculous and clearly shows the developer's quality standards.

Chatfilter is wild. I once asked a Killer "Where are you from?" because they had a really high ping. Everything got censored...

If you type the word "camera" everything is fine. Don't you dare type "my camera" because everything will get censored 😂

"Meg" and "Adam" are censored, the name of 2 playable characters.
The chat filter is totally random.

It totally is.
Sometimes "gg" gets censored as well. At some point I thought that the Chatfilter just tries to avoid things were people want to write the N- or F-Word in multiple messages, so that it checks for other letters in previous messages.
But even if the only message in Postgame Chat is "gg" it might end up getting censored.

ISTG the chat filter for DbD is worse than The Sims and Roblox combined. :-/

I've seen "Clown" get censored too.
And "Slippery Meat", the name of a perk, once became "######## Meat".
What annoys me is that, while the devs have been answering and acknowledging player complaints and feedback on many aspects of the game, they keep completely ignoring the chat filter issue. Sure, it's not a balance or gameplay issue, but an issue nonetheless, and I think the whole community agrees that it is a problem and it needs to be changed. There's no way the programming of a chat filter is so complicated that it can't even be acknowledged right now.

I am pretty sure it censors words that are fine more than not.
Those toxic players who want to trash talk, usually find w4y$ to type what they want as a workaround.
