Cross-Progression/Save When?
Currently, cross-progression only exists between Stadia and PC, however I feel as if cross-progression between all platforms is really needed. Especially when many people are basically left to completely ditch their old accounts to swap to a platform they prefer and it really sucks to see. (I am soon going to be one of those people unfortunately as I swap to PC from Console.)
I also feel as if seeing a way to merge existing progress between accounts you own would be nice, considering the new prestige system allows people to easily gain progress towards prestige of all characters when merging accounts. Have an account with a P1 Meg, but your original account had a P3 Meg? Well you could add the prestige levels to get a P4 Meg. And if you have a character unlocked that you didnt have before, you could keep the character. Bought the same character twice? You can get some of the Iridescent Shards refunded. Etc.
I feel as if with the current systems in the game, there is no better time than now to introduce something like this, especially when the systems BHVR have created greatly favor a system like this.

Never, I play PS4 and been waiting for years. The simple truth is there is to much money to be made in people rebuying on new platform.

I logged into Overwatch today since it's getting revamped to Overwatch 2 in a couple days, and was greeted with a message that I will get cross-progression from my Xbox account from 2014 - 2016 (I haven't owned an xbox since 2019). Thats was a pleasant surprise to see.
I know Overwatch is run by a AAA studio, but it would be nice if it helps set a precedent for other games like DBD going forward.

Small indie dev with 1000+ employees and 300m yearly revenue, pls be patient with them.

Hopefully soon. They have been talking about it for years now.

Well I can say I will never switch platform unless cross-progression is added. I have played too much.

Last we heard on the topic, it's basically out of their hands- they're waiting on/are roadblocked by something on the platform's ends, not theirs.
So, who knows when!

Quite honestly, if I could move my gave from PS4 to Switch I would. I would totally just lay in the bathtub leveling up. XD

Unfortunately we do not have any update with regards to cross progression, other than the platforms that are already included.

Is this one of the most asked questions y'all get?

This has got to be one of my favourite arguments ever because it sounds impressive until you do half a second of digging.
300m yearly revenue does not translate to 300m yearly profit.
dbd is not the only game that is made by bhvr interactive. they act as both a game development studio and a publisher for third-party developers, and outsource their developers to other studios. not to mention all the janitorial staff, catering staff, security, it, etc, all of whom are paid above the minimum wage (which is $14.25 in quebec).
and even after all of that, it still doesn't matter because the decision is just as much with sony/microsoft as it is with bhvr. as we know from the epic/apple lawsuit revealing a bunch of contracts epic has including those for cross-progression, sony and microsoft both want to be paid their share of revenue for each purchase made on a different device. if someone buys some cells on steam, sony and microsoft both want what they'd get if someone had purchased them directly on their own stores. it's very possible they don't want to budge and bhvr doesn't want to agree to that (again, revenue not profit).
that argument is so massively flawed it's actually laughable. and don't get me wrong, i am dying for switch cross-progression to finally release, but at least come up with a better gotcha moment than that.

Yeah, I'd love to start playing more on PC, but sadly like 90% of my metaphorical eggs are in my Playstation basket.
But I am not holding my breath here, as it seems like there are too many things that need to happen that BHVR doesn't control. And I think if Sony/MS were motivated to do their part in this, it would have happened by now.

Microsoft has repeatedly said they want all games to be "play anywhere" games. So the fact that DbD can't even be played on the same account for Game Pass for Xbox and Game Pass for PC proves this is a BHVR issue. Even brand new indie games have cross-save and cross-progression between the two.

They can exclude paid currencies from cross-progression if the money is an issue. And you raise a good point about that. Sony didn't allow it until recently. Using Fortnite as an example, V-Bucks purchased on any platform did not appear on PlayStation, and PlayStation-purchased V-Bucks didn't appear elsewhere. This is how Nintendo Switch works for games like Fall Guys, where the Show-Bucks don't cross over to other platforms and vice-versa. Bungie allows you to project one Destiny 2 account across other platforms while preserving individual account progress should you ever delink. Other games allow you to merge, but some have carved out where select content cannot merge due to platform policies. Bvhr has a lot of options. I think the best one is the Fall Guys and Overwatch method, where you link your accounts to one master account, and everything stores on that account.

Is it still being worked on though? I do not want to be left in the dark for a really long time and I dont want to restart and lose everything Ive gotten up until this point.

I'd be happy if I could just migrate from PC game pass to Steam. They're both PC. Steam just frequently has better deals.

OW2s cross progression is the only reason I touched that game. BHVR is crazy to keep sleeping on it because a lot of ppl wont open their wallets until they do.
