Scared to play smarter cause people will harass and judge me
If I camp or tunnel, even when strategically viable or at the end of the game, I'm hesitant cause of thinking of how the Survivors will name call me and make me feel like a bad person.

You can always disable chat features on PC, or private your account so people cannot message you for Console platforms.
I get that the DbD community is horrible, but there are many ways to opt out of facing toxic or malicious players, it unfortunately comes at the cost of not being able to interact with the good people in the community.

Disable post game chat if on PC.

The fact is, if you wanna climb ya gotta play dirty. Not many ppl can 8 hook, never 3 gen, never tunnel never camp etc. And 4k consistently.
Just like how survivors cant be expected to just give up and let themselves die, you cant seriously expect a killer to not want to kill.
Now, if someone dcs at the start and you decide to slug 2 ppl so you can guarantee the 3k then yeah you deserve to be called out

Exactly this! I set my Xbox settings to private a while ago to avoid the messages from sore losers or trolls. There are other ways of communicating in the game.
Emotes, nods, or dropping items can translate a (GG) well enough to get the point across without needing to put yourself through the stress of rage messages from people just trying to make you feel bad because things didn't go their way.

It's my thinking about what they think about me that stops me

There have been plenty of times where I went easy on a survivors just for them to bm in post game. They can have and will continue to treat the killer this way regardless of whether you're taking on the role or not.

Same.
This community wants to punish players for playing efficiently.
Very unhealthy for a gaming community.

life is too short to let something like that stop you. Personally I let 2 people go because I feel so inclined, but I enjoy this, I dont do it because I mind what the others will think of me. I do care about their gameplay experience, but thats diferent.
however, if what you desire is to play and win harder, then by all mean do so. Be the big bad wolf. Emnbrace that persona and enjoy it. God knows even I love to play the villain every now and then. And villains dont care,

That’s why I keep my chat disabled.

-.-
-sigh-
Ok so you don't want to play the way that could get you a "win" due to what Survivors say... right got it
So have more confidence in your play... if you play smart the whole match then pat yourself on the back for knowing the difference

take this video as advice, but put a DbD twist on it:
apply it to your gameplay, and then profit

Why are you playing this game? It's literally the nature of this game, it's unavoidable and will happen whether you tunnel, camp, or play "nice"
0 -
Never camp, tunnel, or slug even if it causes you to lose the game! Just consider having a fun chase a win and you can never lose!
0 -
And I wish more survivors would play for chases instead of holding m1!!!
0 -
You get m1? I got them holding w...
0 -
They always talk about how boring doing gens is and how much fun chases are, but they don't like it if you spend the whole time chasing them right after they get off the hook each time???
0 -
When do I ever do that lol. I'm just saying that's the equivalent and it is.
I play blight so they really can't do that.

Was hoping youd go for the joke mate Y/Y

I was waiting for a joke 🤣

Well, think about it this way: what do you think is more fun? Winning or just vibing? If you like the win streaks, then continue with what you're doing. Otherwise, if you don't really mind not killing all the survivors then just adjust a bit to open up your strategy.

Well, they will even if you don't play for wins. That's the game community in some part.
Situation from yesterday - bought a dredge just minutes before, made some levels on him, wanted to try him. Que in match, joined, ok. There was a team where it totatlly looked like SWF (got discordance from prestiges in legion - they whole beginning tried to repairs gens as 2 pairs for example). First couple of minutes I was trying to learn basic mechanics seen in twitch games (remnant movement in loops etc etc). I was playing just for fun - tried to make everyone "dead on hook", so then i started to kill them. To obtain this: after hooking I was teleporting to yellow gen (discordance again) leaving surv on hook alone (even barely proxy camping, done one time or two because i seen surv hiding there); AND leaving chases after unhook (if i was close i started to chase the guy who unhooked). Last guy escaped via hatch, i heard him yet i just wanted to let him go (no slugging too in the game). Result? Post game chat and: HAHAHA noob tunnel camping noooooooob.
So yeah, as a killer whatever you do - you will be named. That's the way it is.

i enjoy their salt. If i'll reduce myself to play in that way it's only because they force me to do so/want that kind of gameplay... it's sufficient to see the survivor's behavior during the game: keep doing gens while injured/i'm near your position will only result in a merciless play from me; same for people who keep tbagging and clicking (you want to win/being an ######### instead of playing chill? i'll adjust my gameplay based on your decisions...)
