Can we get an explanation from BHVR on why skins are available only for a "limited time"?
Would really appreciate something from a BHVR rep explaining this.

BHVR's greediness reached a new level
Don't buy any more auric cells skins from them until they hit the brakes hard on this thing.

It's to explore FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). If you keep it around, you'll get a steady source of money but slowly over time. But if it's limited, people will flock to buy it, most likely giving you more profit in more time.
That's the long and short of it.

I love the experts who dig into this stuff and know what they are doing. Just love how smart the community is to immediately call it out. Made me laugh how it didn't take long either.
Question to be asked at the end of the day, is it truly necessary to use FOMO?

Necessary? No. Profitable? If you can get away with it

I'm completely against it.
I have two jobs, and streaming Dead by Daylight is NOT one of them.
I have military duty on the 22nd of October, and won't be back until the 14th of November. That's literally half of the event gone, and skins locked behind exclusive paywall. I say pay wall because if we don't get them before post event, they become exclusive.
FOMO is garbage... 🤡
DBD is one of the best paying games for BHVR, do they really need to go above and beyond?
I could understand if they went exclusive for a few months post event, THEN putting them in the shop. But permanently exclusive? Yeah, um, no.
Seeing as this is one of BHVR's most paying titles, it would be smart of them to listen to the community that gave them all success in the first place. Hopefully, we will get an official response on this.
And I apologize if I sound rather aggressive. Just don't like the idea of a company screwing over their community, mind you, the only community that's passionate enough to support them and gave them success in the first place.

Limited time items are nothing new to the world of gaming. While I personally prefer game cosmetics like this to be earnable within a game the truth is there is money to be made from selling something that will only be available for a limited time. Do people quit games over things like this? Maybe, but I doubt enough people would to make a difference, but its possible.

Wait are they releasing skins to the shop that are limited now?

Look in the top right corner 😘

Seems to be the case

Because they are specifically made for the Halloween season which is usually between October into November.

All the previous Christmas and Blighted skins are also for certain time periods, particularly the Christmas skins, and yet they aren't timed exclusives.

You know what, I forgot about that.
Further clarification is needed then 🤔.
That does suck and there isnt any reason. This is pretty uncharacteristic of me, but I kinda wanna see what they do with that.

An explanation on why the cosmetics are time-limited would be good.
...Accepting it... is another story. One I refuse to.

Thank you for showing me this ^^
I thought people were complaining about the event tome or something but this is just really dissapointing to see. I hope they go back on this decision but I doubt it.
Seeing as it's a good cosmetic a lot of people will buy this and it'll probably become a common trend to see these.
Gotta love when you're 30(?) euro game with dlc costing so much more having limited time skins.
Isn't dEAd by Daylight amazing?
