Being a survivor main is difficult, and frustrating....
And no it's not because of balance, if you was expecting me to say "killer OP" you came to the wrong post.
Having said that, being a solo Q survivor main is tough... and while most of the community will say solo Q needs buffs etc. I dont really agree, now as you can see I'm quite different to the stereotype "survivor main". So here is my list of why being a survivor main is difficult and draining at times
- So this can be linked with a solo Q buff so I thought I'd start here just to get it out the way. I cant see my teams loadouts and they cant see mine, not knowing if someone has Deliverance, OTR, DS or a medkit with X charges just makes everything a guess and seeing this in the lobby would be great.
- DCs & Givingup, these are so common. Nothing even wrong with the game most of the time but people just give up, while I can still have a fun match it's highly likely a loss and a smaller chance for a good match because of it. As someone who never gives up its frustrating, would be nice if quitters were matched together.
- Toxicity and BM, while this can happen on both sides it's so common survivors do it and I just hate actually seeing it in game not to mention even if you wasnt toxic you can be linked to it because of "your team"
- You are always to blame if your team loses if they are a swf. Doesnt matter if you're playing the best on your team (good chases so the killer gives up and still doing most gens) your team will blame you simply because you wasnt in their group.
- Theres alot of survivor mains that have the worst outlook and personality which you can just be linked to (obviously there can be bad killer mains but theres just more on survivor sided)
- Because I often share different opinions on matters to other survivor mains I get put into a bracket of never fitting it and subject to name calling
- Linked to 5, makes it nearly impossible to join groups/party chat. It's so hard to find strong players who arent constantly moaning about the killer, controlling how we play etc.
- Tome challenges can be made so much harder, i know I make it harder anyway as I wont throw the game for them but having others throw for challenges, be on the same challenge making it harder or just people stopping it from being possible (escape through hatch but your team just sit at the gate t-bagging till the timer hits 0)
- Matchmaking, you really have no idea who you'll be matched with. Even if you have a good escape rate/mmr you can still get bad players. It's not fun versing a good killer with a team of new players
- SBMM, this system is depressing for survivor. Your whole skill is based on if you escape which just isn't in your control, with bad matchmaking, tome challenges, if the killer focuses you (which the killer should be allowed to decide) and just if your team decide to save you near the end. Your actual skill doesnt mean much, remember if you do a 20min chase and die on 1hook are you actually good?
- Killer viability, what? Surely this is a killer issue? NOPE, sadly weaker killers arent seen as much for me and if you main survivor it really can be boring versing the same doesnt matter if that's nurse, huntress etc. Without a range of killers it can be boring.
- Cant play casually with friends, partner etc. So the SBMM isnt the best as mentioned earlier however I do escape alot so I puts me a high MMR which would be fine but if i ever wanted to play with someone (rare) I cant. I'll either bring a very casual player into high mmr killer or I'll be put into a low mmr killer. This just makes it unfun for someone and I dont want that.
SUMMARY: Balance isnt the issue for me but more of the stuff I have to deal with as a survivor from bad matchmaking, DCs, tome challenges and other things impacting the games making them worse. Then being linked to the stereotype survivor main just for saying I main survivor, But then sharing different opinions to alot of survivors leaves me an outcast either way.
Not saying I dont enjoy myself or have fun, just things that can happen to put me off the game and calling myself a survivor main.

I'm gonna be honest... Your post history is indeed odd for a "solo q survivor main".
Saying the game is still survivor sided after the killer buffed patch, complaining that your survivor build is still only "second chance perks", saying killers camp because they need basekit rewards, asking if survivors items are too strong...
In this post you even mention how solo q is bad because of toxicity and how survivors are the most toxic and how they moan about the killer, how survivors call you names because your opinion doesn't "fit" and how survivor mains have the "worst outlook and personality".
Solo Q survivor has been really bad, only thing that made it more bearable was the increase time in basekit BT, but it is still struggling for the same issue as before: lack of communication.
Solo Q does need a buff so it can be on pair with SWF and the devs can balance the general game around that.

12 bullets, not a single mention of camping? Your RP as survivor main is not very realistic

I agree with all your points. However, solo q does need "buffs" in the sense they need QoL to help with being coordinated.
Really sucks that survivors give themselves such a bad rep that you don't like being associated with them and hurting the fun of everyone involved.
Points 2, 3, and 5 really resonate with me and are the reason I really just don't look for people to group up with anymore. Every time I did it was just "watch as I T-bag and click. No we can't move on to the next game right now I'm waiting near the gate, the killer needs to know that I beat them and they're trash. We lost? camper tunneler bad killer carried by perks. We Won? gg ez baby killer."
It's just exhausting. I'd rather deal with random solo's then have those people talking in my ear all session with toxicity and double standards while judging how both the killer and our teammates play while they have the worst attitude and most meta perks out of everyone, and are still preforming poorly. But it's never their fault 😑
Then they judge my builds just because I don't run meta sweat, but they get upset when killers do it. Like, I escaped more and last longer in chase, my build isn't the problem your attitude is.
Kinda vented there a bit but main point being, I agree and feel your pain. I hope the survivor community improves but I doubt it.
