Is there a reason why DS shouldn't be basekit?
So long as killer gets some kind of buff, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't become basekit, it promotes pretty healthy play and adds a layer of strategy to perks like STBFL and Play with your food.

Well since DS was often used offensively against killers who were trying not to tunnel, i would say that is 1 reason.

like most basekit suggestion conversations, I think you don't understand how strong DS still is. It is just fine as a perk, and still has far more useful applications than most people seem to think. It even resets endurance after BT/OTR to allow for more endurance effects without needing to mend.

Survivors have BT and soon UB basekit... I think it's time killers got corrupt basekit before survivors get even more

I would hope so, I'm tired of good perks being locked behind pay walls(cough cough CoB, Reassurance, DS, Lethal Pursuer, Deadlock cough cough)

Then just tunnel the survivor then lol, when people body block with OTR I always laugh to myself because they're basically throwing, I wasn't gonna tunnel them, but if they insist then might as well.

Should make good soloq teammates basekit. mmr oh wait..

That's where buffs to killer would come into play, you saw my previous thread about this exact issue right? I'm just trying to see the other side on this matter.

I think basekit BT is fine, but the basekit unbreakable is absurd and makes every killer that isn't Blight/Nurse practically impossible to win with at high MMR, you have to snowball with weaker killers to win.

Maybe if they capped it at 45seconds to self get up no matter what itd be fine but 22seconds solo is dumb especially for twins, oni etc.
But even still they need to fix hook spawns, so many games today I just had to bleed people out as it was impossible to make hooks... like that shouldn't be a thing if UB is being made base

It's really unfortunate that BHVR can't get their vision for this game straight, this change along with the last man standing mechanic seems like one made for the comp crowd, but then they turn around and buff Nurses Range addons.

No more basekit buffs with "we'll get killer later" approach please. I always compare this game's balance to a jenga tower because there is no approach at parity, just going back and forth (or back multiple times before forth once) and everything else keeps getting thrown on the backburner.
Both sides have a lot of problems in the game, and ironically many of them are the same problem with different impacts. Focusing on one over the other is why the balance has always been so bad in this game in the first place, it needs more unilateral solutions.

Eh, I wouldn't mind but it's the sort of perk that's annoying to play against because it tends to be more useful as an offensive tool than an anti-tunnel tool.

Can we stop with the basekit stuff? Holy hell at this rate EVERYTHING is going to be basekit.
3 -
Please no if you made DS basekit survivors would do less for the team then they are already doing. Standing around for 60 seconds "dont want to waste my ds"!

Killer players are going to need to get an awful lot of basekit abilities added to keep up with all these free perks that survivors are getting. Yeesh…

It wouldn't be healthy. Especially considering the potential unbreakable base kit in the future.

Why don't we give survivors auto dead hard basekit too while we're at it? As if the maps don't just hand you free wins already, you want more hand holding?

I think the current basekit BT is fine enough as a basekit option. It helps prevents survivor from just straight getting downed off hook and helps them get to safety, but doesn't just prevent killers from choosing to tunnel.
I don't think a healthy game is making it impossible for killers to commit to a tunnel. I get it's not fun for survivors, but you have to remember that the killer is the 1 in a 1v4 and if the killer role is forced into making plays they don't want to make that is far more unhealthy than survivors getting removed out of a match.

I don't need basekit DS, what I need is for the DS stun to be automatic and to happen after both unhooks. At least if they keep the 3 second stun it has now.

Because it was being used as a weapon to attack the killer.

So BT became basekit. AND Unbreakable is becoming basekit. SO lets say DS also becomes basekit.
Here's my question: does these three survivor perks becoming basekit across 4 survivors each equal the amount of power Killers got though recent base kit buffs (10% faster recovery to hits, 10% faster pallet breaks, 2.5% regression when kicking a gen), or do these three survivor perks becoming basekit across 4 survivors each far outweigh those killer buffs?
(They far outweigh)

People aren't allowed to have perspective in this game, they're only allowed to want more advantages to stack, and if they're free all the better.
Its why so many balance discussions in this game are absolutely pointless.

Sure.
And while we at it, let's remove all perks from the game since everything is getting basekit anyways.

See this why making perks basekit was wrong... cause now we are asking for more
BHVR needs to recode the game (like right now)
And also start to think outside the box
But at this point might as well

We dont need to make everything basekit.... Revert DS nerf HELL YEAH. but nah for basekit

Because the game can't distinguish tunneling from downing a survivor that runs in the killers face, I'm affraid this wouldn't go too well. DS was often used in an aggressive way just like OTR is now. Even killers that try to go for someone else would be affected by this.
Instead I would like to see some kind of encouragement for the killer to go after someone else (for example show the aura of the nearest survivor for 3s) and make a recently unhooked survivor lose their collision with the killer completely until they do a conspicious action or get fully healed. The problem is how that would work out on S-Tier killers.
