Is this "obnoxious"?
Is it obnoxious to grab an item from a "ripped" teammate before you leave?
tldr: I opened the gate a millisecond after the Rebecca got 3 hooked (waited incase of Blood Warden).
Ran to where she was hooked, grabbed her event flashlight, and booked it out.
EGC timer wasnt even half down and didnt wait for the killer to come to the gate or anything.
Do people actually find this "obnoxious" and "toxic"? Like, those items are pretty much non-existent in my games?
I try to play fair on both side but can't imagine this is actually toxic behaviour.. Or am I just missing something?

They're dead, they don't need their stuff!
It is now yours under the "Finders Keepers" law

He was saying it was because I didnt leave immediately. Not because of the grave robbing lol
If that was the gripe I could maybe understand it?

No, though it can be seen as crack headed behavior at times. carrying the torch out is an act of love most pure and plain. Give those items a good home.

Yeah the Myers photo is

I save them up and never bring them into a trail. They are my trinkets and souvenirs of loves lost...

I challenge you to find a better one. I'll wait.

No, as long as you left as soon as you grabbed the torched like you said you did- then it’s not. Maybe her hook was a little far from the exit gate you opened? So to him it felt like you were waiting for a few. Plus he probably didn’t believe you. Too many survivors will actually wait at the exit gate just to rub it in, and it really is obnoxious for some of us killers who are obviously not coming over there but are ready to move on to the next game. These survivors do it on purpose because they don’t get to teabag so they wait till the very last second. It’s 2022 and it amazes me that people still do this. 🙄

Oh I thought it was a survivor complaining at you.
I still think it's fine

Uh what. Your saying they would rather have their item be deleted than another player pick it up.

My bad. I might have explained it badly. It was the killer calling me obnoxious for grabbing it before leaving...

But in all seriousness, I like both images.

I'm guessing they assumed you were in the exit gate tbagging or something? I think going back to grab an item is fine, especially as you knew where it was (plus there's a level of risk attached, the killer could have found you). Better than the items disappearing into the void

Guuuuys, this isn't about the dead survivor calling grabbing their flashlight after their death obnoxious but the killer for having to wait half the EGC for the last survivor to leave no matter why.
I can't speak for everybody but i think most or many killer are done with coming to the open exit only to get a face full of flashlight/tagging/emote spamming to rub it in or the fake "here, get one last hit" into exit dodge with or without dead hard (don't know how good or if that works with the new version) for good measure.
At the op: No what you did wasn't obnoxious per se and you had your own reason for it but i can't argue with any killer being fed up with survivor having to rub every victory in their opponents face, earned or not.

Umm. I dont think most people have an issue with the photo... it is just questionable, at best... not that I mind.
But in all honesty, I can see how it would be annoying, when everyone has already left seeing the timer run down and a person not leaving can feel really annoying. I mean, they already lost and probably do not want more time wasted. BUT just because something is annoying does not make it toxic, e.g. I find people dropping god pallets at the start of the match annoying, but that does not make it toxic by any means.

You exect me to be able to think correctly with that picture ? drools
More seriously, you didn't do anything wrong. It's not like you were taunting them or anything.

It's irrelevant what that person thinks of you taking their flashlight. Instead, let's talk about how hot Micheal is.

You're not missing anything. Waiting in the door for the killer to chase you out is obnoxious, grabbing a last-minute item in the EGC is not. I would advise you to take anything said in the endgame chat with a bucketload of salt. Tilted players are much more likely to be irrational and label almost literally anything as toxic, even if it makes zero sense.

I don't know, but that Myers looks like a Jojo character.

Do you want one that can be posted to the forums or not?

I unless you orchestrated the survivor's death to snag their item then no it's fine. If i dropped an item, particularly a rare one I'd prefer someone gets it out so it isn't lost to the fog. Me and my swf team mates usually say where our rare stuff dropped when we die.

I do want to see it but don't want you getting banned for it 🤣

We at Entity Boutique request that customers exit the building in a timely manner once store hours are over. We understand if you need to grab a last minute item, but please know that our salespeople are very enthusiastic over our current line of hooks and hook-related accessories, and may insist on giving you a thorough demonstration before you leave. We appreciate your cooperation.

Poor baby. What would he have done waiting as long as the survivors wanted to stay in the trial in the old days?

nah getting someone's item who is dead is like a present for christmas. take it, enjoy it and let the mad stay mad

Nah, picking an item from someone who died and then getting out is not bad manners because you can actually get caught and die unlike the tbaging at the gates which is almost always done in the safety of the escape.
We would be reading a very long essay about Survivor entitlement, toxicity and sad feelings.
