What was the point of removing blood points bonuses

So I want to level up some survivors mainly just a mixture of items, perks and well prestige and I wanted it done quickly so I thought why not bring WGLF because of the bonus BP for rescuing and and protecting teammates that's when I notice i didn't get a stack even though I safely rescued someone and took a protection hit. I'm thinking maybe there's a glitch or something nope just no more extra BP...then what's the point of running it anymore I get a speed boost on healing? We have Botany,Despite measures a decent amount of perks that fun fact increase healing speed that don't require an activation and yes I'm saying Despite measures doesn't require one because it actives no matter what has it gives a boost on healing when someone is injured aka no activation requirements. But still why remove the BP bonus on perks people ran them because it helped with gaining BP.

I'm guessing you haven't heard the reason, it was a massive topic when it was revealed.

WGLF and BBQ both got their BP effects axed as it was intended to "reduce the grind". This coupled with the prestige system rework was expected to reduce the amount of BP needed to progress through a bloodweb. It did not (at least at the time)

The perks did get an extra use though to replace the missing effects, well... WGLF did at least. Your tokens grant endurance for a duration to people healed from the dying state.
