Yearly Discussion/Questioning about the Blighted Serum and Refined Serum discrepancy

Every Halloween the add-on "Blighted Serum" for killers is enabled for the event and disabled promptly after, however, the "Refined serum" add-on for medkits on survivors has remained enabled since its introduction. What's the reasoning here?

    Probably because the blight serum is better and generally has more of an impact. Survivors generally don’t expect it until they see it and can be caught off guard by it especially on a killer they otherwise wouldn’t expect to catch up quickly.

    The refined serum isn’t really that good and destroys the medkit for a temporary speedboost, part of which you’ll likely waste by stopping long enough to use it. Honestly I don’t think it’s even worth it unless you stack a syringe with it or something.

    Most likely because the serum can be used multiple times in a match.

    No. Blight Serum does more harm than good a lot of the time. You get 1 rush, and another after hooking someone, and then you're a 1-add-on killer when most are add-on dependent.

    There are certain killers I probably wouldn’t bother using it on at least.

    That said, I wouldn’t actually have a problem with both addons being available all year, that was just my guess as to why they disable it.

    After playing the ######### out of Wesker with the serum...I think I understand. That serum has clutched so many matches cuz I don't have to use my power to get around the map. I get the map pressure and I still have my power. After every single hook.

    Also it gives Blight 6 rushes, which is insane for a killer that's already top tier.

    It is sad that it's only usable once a year. But I see the logic behind it.
