Unpopular Opinion: Removing the kills given by EGC would solved a lot

Specifically hostage situations and slugging.

Both sides are kinda responsible but its mainly a design flaw. A killer will body block a survivor in a corner as they know EGC will secure a kill. Teammates dont want to open the gate as they dont want to kill their teammates.

Close hatch in the face of a slugged survivor and leave them on the ground for the length of the EGC to assert dominance, etc.

If EGC was swapped to not kill but to "release" from the trial - similar to how F13 has the 20min timer - then I think that would fix a lot of issues with toxic behavior and hostage taking.

(Goes without saying people on hooks at end of EGC are sacrificed and not released)


I cant see a reason not to either. EGC was never supposed to give kills anyway - just to ensure the game ends.


Would love to hear other peoples opinions and if I'm missing anything here?
