Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Why is Wesker's default terror radius 40 meters and The Doctor 32 meters?

I thought The Doctor was all about bringing terror to the trials? Shouldn't he be the one with the largest terror radius out of all the killers?

That just raises the question of whether Blight deserves a bigger terror radius as well.

Because Doctor is an old killer and Wesker is the newest one.

This. And it also could be just one of his schticks and defining characteristics, ie he is the dude that can vault AND he is the dude with the very big terror radius. Similar, because Myers terror radius is so smal you can also try builds on him that shrink his terror radius even further and have a 6m TR or something.

He has vigo's journal add-on which makes him undetectable during blight rushing. It likely would not make difference because his movement speed is high that holding-w before chase is somewhat of a bad idea. Wesker has no reason to have 40 meter terror radius. they just put that so that killer would consider running that distressing+coulrophobia+unnerving presence build on him. complete meme level perks.

Wesker can use his power to catch up. If Doctor had a 40m TR that would actually hurt him because he already struggles a lot against survivors who run way too early.

A lot of people think Monitor & Abuse hurts Doctor but I actually like running it on him. I don't think Static Blast is useful as a tracking tool and I prefer using it as slowdown to build up madness, so I get into early chases with the 24m TR, and then use the 40m TR in chase to hit multiple survivors with the blast.

Terror radius is supposed to warn you of a killer that doesn't have anything else to notify their presence. Wesker is a pretty quite killer and his power doesn't produce much noise to notify you. Blight has a noticeable bump sound and screams "BLEAAAAAAAGH" during a lethal rush. You'd hear him coming pretty early.

Same argument for Deathslinger's 32m terror radius, which is giving you plenty of warning before you're within range.

Doctor's power comes directly from his terror radius. Increasing it would make him more oppressive.

Just for reference Wesker has an add-on that makes him Undetectable sometimes too. I don't think the add-ons have anything to do with why the devs did it personally.

But in reply to the comment above that Wesker has a 40 meter radius because he has "crazy fast mobility" then if that were true the devs also would be considering giving Blight a 40 meter radius. I don't know that it's actually true though, I agree with you that they probably just thought it would be fun to have a killer with a really big terror radius for a change.

You can hear she scream every blink. Usually 1 scream, TR hits in. 1 more scream, next to you. The fatigue & recharge is the window to react.

Wesker can just double dash next to you instantly if its 32m

Back when Doctor was released, they were a lot more stringent about their design philosophy of 110s having 24m TR and 115s having 32m TR.

Also, the larger TR is in theory a nerf to Wesker while it would be a buff for Doctor. (That people turn it into a buff with perks is somewhat beside the point.)

Because Wesker have two dash attacks.

dark sun glasses is really unreliable. Almost pointless add-on. I wish the add-on worked like blight add-on. Gain undetectable when holding(charging) his dash. The add-on should work for both dash in between. It might make that egg add-on more useful. Far more reliable add-on to use.

I do not like going against survivor teams that hold-w before chase. its terrible for wesker. you have to use both your dashes just to gap-close the distance to get into the chase. Starting with your power on cooldown is annoying due to 40 meter terror radius.

I don't play Wesker enough to have a strong opinion on the add-ons, but I will say the Dark Sunglasses plus Uroboros Virus combo where you become Undetectable and see the aura of someone who just became Critically Infected sounds pretty dope since it can hypothetically let you sneak up on someone who can't hear you coming while you know exactly where they are. 🙂

And give him more Infectious Fright and Coulro strength? Hell no lol. Lullaby like huntress would be nice though.
