Are you enjoying the event?
This isn't a reflection on the event itself, I just know that for me personally I'm burnt out on the game. I'm tired of working on generators as a survivor (which I find boring), but I'm also tired of sweating sometimes just to earn a single kill as Killer. I enjoy the chase so I don't like having to rely on 4 slowdown perks, but if I don't then it seems as though the matches are over within minutes.
Is this event worth hopping back in for? I'm hearing that there's a lot of server issues that are causing crashes.

I'm personally having a good time, but YMMV. The rewards are cute and I've met more players than usual who are playing chill, but there's always going to be a few people who are dead set on ruining the game during these events too. I think it's worth checking out. Average bloodpoints per match is super high, too - you average 30-40k if you die/fail and 50-60k if you escape/win.

I'm enjoying it, coming back after a break. Challenges aren't too sweaty.

I’m having a great time. The event itself doesn’t interfere with regular gameplay but does spice it up and gives a ton of extra points. Plus the rift challenges are all fairly easy and the rewards are cool

Very true that our tastes are all different. I personally don't like having to change up my playstyle in order to have fun, but I have to if I want to be effective as the killer. I just find it funny that so many people recommend that you play this game the way you want to play it, yet when I do I suffer for it. LOL

I've been playing a lot of games with spooky builds and letting people go when they're cute (I let survivors interact with the rifts before hitting them, and sometimes they act friendly after that and I can't pull the trigger on people who aren't trying to run away.) The result is that my MMR's dropped a bit and I can play however I like. I'd really advise giving that a shot and seeing if you enjoy playing killer from that vantage. Sometimes MMR really screws up and throws newbies at you, and that's terrible, but there is a sweet spot where you can go for the 12-hook games or play weird builds and have a decent shot at winning, while still feeling engaged by the skill level of your opponents.

The event, yes. It's nowhere near as complicated as I thought to get your 15 and then another 15 points into the voids. But everything else happening at the same time, no. There's a DC every other game. Solo teammates who make matches 10x harder than they should be. Survivors you can barely land a hit on as killer. If I didn't have the limited time challenges to do, on top of the normal ones, I probably would just get on, do my dailies, and get off.

I'm getting a kick out of it.
The pumpkins are, too.

It's fun, but like most events I wish some players would turn down the sweat. Event stuff always requires players to play inefficiently (though a bit less so in this event, actually), so it would be nice if people would relax a bit during them, but no expectations.
I generally really enjoy the events overall, really breaks up the monotony, and most of the time the prizes are good.
I also wish every surv/killer got some sort of cosmetic in each event, but I know that's a lot of work.

I just hate that we're pretty much forced to waste BP on event-specific things in the bloodweb (sometimes you have no choice as an entire path is blocked by one) that I hate using and also hate that they sit there unusable after the event just taking up space and reminding me that I could have bought something actually decent with those BP.
They should either be optional or usable outside of the event.

I enjoyed doing this, too. I usually play pretty chill and let the survivors dump their void energy at rifts without interfering unless they raised my anger in some way.
I also adopted the practice to play normally till I teach mid-silver ranks (normally around 4 or 5 days after the reset), then tank my MMR extremely hard, by only going for 8 hooks and not killing anyone at all. Once my MMR hits rock bottom (usually signified by survivors being so scared of the killer that they don't even come for the first hook rescue when you are on the other side of the map) I shift gears and play extremely sweaty and balls to the walls for the 20-30 matches it takes me to hit Iri1.
This way I only ruin a manageable amount of baby survivors games, while also keeping my sanity. Once I hit Iri1 I play super chill, kill a few survivors, while letting the cute ones go and meme with them. I would prefer not going so hard against baby survivors, but I had way too many frustrating situations with the current pipping system, so this system leaves me with about 3 weeks of carefree playing how I want.
I am a bit concerned that my sweat phase might collide with the first week of the event, but I guess that can't be helped. I am nearly there, though.
All of this wouldn't be needed if BHVR did away with depipping unless you DC, so there is still hope that they change the system at one point.

I'm enjoying it definitely, I just feel it's over too quickly. Once you get the 12 cosmetics the voids are pretty pointless.

I’ve enjoyed it. I appreciate all the effort from the dev team to make it interesting and interactive. Of course you get bad matches with bad teammates or subtle cheaters but that’s a problem that’s not specific to this event.

They're less pointless than other event interactables have been, like the anniversary podiums or the snowmen. 13-16k bonus points per game is nothing to sneeze at, and the speed boost they provide isn't half bad either.

I like this event a little better than some of the others since there's a little more to it in terms of collecting and turning in the charges.

Also, both sets of cosmetics are great. The survivors skeleton sweaters are very thematic and won't look out of place after the event, and the killers various candy weapons are hilarious, even though most are pretty silly.

Yeah no dice. After a long hiatus I loaded up a killer game, and it was as sweaty as it could be. The survivors were as far from chill as you could get. They kept blinding me as I was trying to figure out the whole rift thing. In the end I only managed three hooks. Everyone walked away with thousands more blood points than I did. Some days I wonder why I even bother. Experiences like this is what caused me to stop playing this game in the first place. Sweating while playing is bad enough, but sweating while practicing is even worse.

I like it so far. Event awards are cool, challenges are fun and decent,. cosmetics look cool. The only thing I don't like is that you can steal rift energy from other players. Kinda promotes toxic and sweaty gameplay.

I wish I'd enjoy the event, but I can't even play as killer, queues are massively long, and survivor is so boring.

I am when I can actually play. More than half of my matches end in a crash that requires me to do a hard reset on my console.

I hate this event and want it to be over as soon as possible! My issues with this event
1: People are gaining status effects for smashing pumpkins.
2: Using Hex totems seems like a really bad idea because people are constantly looking for pumpkins which have the illuminosity of hex totems so your Undying/Ruin or Devour can go quicker because pumpkins are everywhere on the map including next to totem spawn locations
3: The generator sound of whatever that thong is on top of them created a sound very similar to Dredge coming out of lockers.. Thats bad!
4: People are not really doing objectives or objectives are taking longer because people want the most points from smashing pumpkins and doing void portals!
5: People are abusing/hoarding bloodpoints from this event and as a result Party Streamers and Caked etc are disabled!
6: The game is crashing more than ever resulting in having to always restart the app. Super annoying and a slight turn off!
I cant wait for this event to be over so the game can return to normal! Not as bad as the winter event with the snow men (my goodness that was terrible for killer) but still a bad event imo.

Now the games are the same as before and it's easier to earn the rewards because the majority got them all.
But as Survivor there is still an issue with tunneling, which is happening to me at least 3 times in 5 games if I'm really unlucky. I enjoy myself but sometimes MMR gets me into a loop of hell that I can't get out of easily.

Personally i did not enjoy it but that might be because i have been playing since 2017.
Same events, same mechanics.
Do gens/hooks and you get X to unlock whatever cosmetic. Last event i enjoyed was snowman because it added slightly to the gameplay and had very fun moments.
New players will enjoy this event way more for sure.

Well, I've certainly come across cuter killers this time around. Like a Ghostface wanting to do a slug race and Spirit wanting to do pallet challenge (I can only assume) and I throw down the pallets for her to break. It also is a bit more chill sometimes as it seems you get a bigger variety of killers than before?
But as far as teammates go, many of them are quitters and dc at the first obstacle (damn you Mikaela! why is it you again *raises fist*), or they are just AFK lol. (like you unhook them and they stay there not moving). I lost both games where this happened today (I only had like 5 games today).
That's obviously the most unfun part of the game atm for me as it is more common than usual I feel (guess cause the penalties were off for some times and people took advantage of that).
I unfortunately don't have the Spirit match recorded but these are my funny moments I guess?
Slug race
Feng Min not knowing about deep wound
Just Flashbang stuff (I probably blind more teammates and myself than killers)
My first decent Flashbang save that actually accomplished something.
Blast Mine is always funny when you don't intend for it to go off and it does (I mean I did install it)
And this will always not be funny.
Seeing these I realized I need better camera work for Flashbang and I need to look more often behind me. I hope you also find some of these funny although they are not that event exclusive.

i was until yesterday when the game decided my steam status is offline despite all evidence to the contrary.

Not really 2018 was much better. But on a positive note at least it's not the one with lanterns

No. I just played today so i can get the katecrow.
But that global challenge is forcing me to log in tomorrow as well.
After that I'm back to other games. Dbd is miserable for me atm. At least as surv.

sure? after the rewards its not much but its better than most events

I'm having fun. I like having an extra tome and getting free skins. I also just like the extra task of collecting energy, even after unlocking all of the things.

I really wish I could. With the game crashing bugs in the beginning, to the DC rampage when penalties were off, to consistently just getting the worst experience because everyone is playing super sweaty, it just hasn't been fun at all. People really have no chill with these events and it's very demoralizing trying to enjoy anything

I have enjoyed the event for the most part, as survivor it is great they made doing the objective part of earning the rewards so team mates don't throw every match by wasting time doing stupid ######### to earn BP. I think they thought this one out a lot better than previous events

Do I enjoy the way the event works? Yes. Really hard for people to grief this one.
Am I enjoying the game during this event? No. It's that time of year when you only see the same 3 killers and they think they're being original by playing Ghostface and Myers as Halloween approaches.
Ghostface tome challenges don't help. Bad enough that his reveal mechanic is hit or miss. Everybody's playing the match exposed. It's like 4 No Mithers but no one can hide their blood or pick themselves up.
It also shows how much Spine Chill is necessary. When it stops working against stealth killers... Their kill rates will sky rocket until they get nerfed

I honestly love the "mini loot box" style of rewards. It makes me want to collect them all!
As for the event itself, I find myself making a bit different plays to ensure my void energy gets deposited before it gets stolen by the other side!
Also, there's just something so satisfying about smashing pumpkins.

I would if RPD wasn't the only map I play.. lol jk but its selection rate is ridiculous lol

It's probably the best event in years.
It looks like a lot of effort went into it.

I got to say, it's definitely more enjoyable playing as survivor than it is killer in this event. For starters in my neck of the woods I'm constantly getting 100% survivor incentives, which naturally turns me off from playing killer anyway. But the fact that you can get rewards even if you die provided you transferred all your void energy, is definitely a welcome change! Naturally it's far less sweaty to play as survivor then killer, and tying rewards to escapes was one of the worst mistakes BHVR ever did when it came to events in the past.

I’ve been having with the event.

Yes, I wish they added bonus objectives like that more often

I enjoy the bloodpoints. I dont enjoy interrupting the flow of the game, same deal with glyph archives.
