Anyone else want a really bad person to be the next Survivor?
Really think about it for a second, how interesting would it be if the next survivor was outright awful rather then morally-grey? the closest we have to a "bad" survivor is Yun-Jin, and even then, it's not like she was actively going out and hurting people, rather letting Trickster go uninterrupted because she feared bringing him in would ruin her career, not good, but at least kind of understandable.
I say the next survivor should be a Mafia enforcer, or something along those lines, a bad person doing bad things for bad reasons, who gets dragged into the realms and is immediately horrified by their powerlessness, would be a interesting way to increase the scope of what survivors can be, and it would make sense in lore as well, a person who uses their power to hurt and abuse people would naturally fear what would happen if their power ever got taken away, it would work even better if the killer was one of the survivor's victims, like a debtor or random passer-by that the survivor robs from or kills to cover their tracks.
I really like the idea of a sort of moral role-reversal between killer and survivor, and really wish it was an actual chapter rather then simple concept-crafting

Oh I think that would be very interesting ! I'd love a role-reversal chapter, either for existing killers that could be close to shifting, or as a new chapter like you've described :)

Lol I was flexing my fingers to rant about yun jin. Beat me to it 🤣
If you read into the backstories some of the survivors have dark sides. For example Dwight poisoned his boss, yun jin obviously, several have struggled with drug and alcohol addiction.
David king also sticks out, he's a pretty sadistic guy. I've read his tome 11 entries (which are hella feels) and I do love him as a character. But you have to admit, violent debt collecting, bareknuckle boxing. Breaks a fan's finger rather than just humor the dude for a few minutes. He's a pretty nasty guy to anyone but close friends. Entity could've easily morphed him into a killer, hell his backstory reads like it could be a killer's backstory more than some killers 🤣

I would love something like this. All the survivors are goody two shoes.
I want to see a survivor that will make people go "you know what, they deserve to be here"

We have Jonah. I dont really like having a survivor thats killed more people than most killers in their lore...

That's an awesome idea, both to have a dark grey survivor and a killer who was a victim of that survivor. It'd be a really neat twist on the usual formula to have a killer with a wholly justified vendetta against a survivor - perhaps their reason for killing in the realm is that they see all the other survivors as guilty by association?

If you count legendary (or whatever the ######### they're called now) skins, we have James Sunderland who wasn't exactly a good guy.
But yeah, that'd definitely be interesting. I'd love to see any kind of different survivor.

There's a huge difference between being an unwitting participant and doing something knowingly. Jonah was not aware how his data was being used and he was horrified when he saw the results, and IIRC he quit his job over it. Is he blameless, no, is he a bad person, also no.
It'd be really interesting to have a survivor who would see the same thing and go "meh, I got my paycheck."

While we're at it, can we get a female killer who's actually evil?
As someone on the forums pointed out a while back, all of them had something traumatic happen to them that made them do bad stuff and weren't actually bad/evil from the start.

It's all about the framing, you're just giving your team a lore accurate secondary objective.

It does sound good from a lore stand point... Someone going from "all powerful" to powerless sounds funny to me
IMO Rin's father seems like a person I'd like to see in the Fog (But that isn't going to happen)

Seriously. We've got two sympathetic male killers (Wraith and Billy) and the rest are just Real Bad People. YMMV on Trapper, but even if he grew up in a twisted household, he had a sadistic streak all the same and he became a person that enjoyed inflicting suffering.
The Pig is the closest thing we have to an unsympathetic female killer, and she has both a tragic backstory and is a licensed killer and thus not BHVR's design. Of the female killers, only Plague, Huntress, and Nurse actually murdered anyone in their lives (and with Plague, that was entirely from the archives, her original lore made no mention of it.) Hag, Spirit, and Artist are completely innocent, Julie and Susie were party to a murder but didn't actually commit one, and Onryo... is tricky to classify, but IIRC, she was just a kid with psychic powers she wasn't totally in control of even though she did kill someone with those powers.
I want a female killer with lore like the Trickster, Clown, or Ghostface - someone who's just an irredeemable bastard. Extra points if she gets shoes.

I definitely like the inclusion of more morally grey survivors, I feel like a survivor could only be so bad without being chosen to be a killer instead though.

Eh, I'd struggle to call what Dwight did to be bad, yeah sure he poisoned his boss but A. His boss 100% had it coming, and B. Dwight didn't even know he had poisoned his boss until he started strangling someone
As for David, yeah sure he is defintely a violent guy with a sadism streak, but that doesn't necessarily make him evil, after all, he grew up in Manchester, basically cut all ties with his family, and had to hide the fact he was gay from basically all but 1 person in his life, I'd develop a violent streak too if i was him, and probably most importantly, David never killed anyone, beat people half to death sure, but never kill

Some killers have done less. Like i said i understand him and like him as a character. But he hurts people often very badly because of his personal issues.

I don't see it happening but I think a Carrie chapter would be perfect for subverting tropes, the more sympathetic character would be the killer (Carrie) and the evil one would be the survivor (Chris Hargensen)

Jonah is an imperalist warmongering a-hole who worked for Pinochet and the CIA and hardly even cared when he murdered an entire village - he's one of, if not the most evil character in the game. I don't want more Jonah's.

It'd be hard to write, but if done well it could be awesome. A selfish survivor who doesn't bow to the entity's whims and works with other survivors for his own benefit.

He didnt hardly care for what he did. He VERY MUCH cared for what he did. his guilt dragged him down m8. read his lore
he knew what he did was wrong, even if he was tricked. and he risked his life to try and make up for it even if he knew it would never be enough.
"Jonah blamed himself. He saw first-hand the damage done and the families torn apart. He took a leave of absence but remained in Kwantana, surveying the damage. He had to do something..."
P.S. not saying his lore isn't written badly. it is.

Would be intriguing having the survivor as being evil with the killer being somewhat righteous in pursuit of said survivor.

Love that about the david part. Yea, the entity definitely couldve made him a killer. Just how the entity has altered deathslingers eyes to only see the survivors as anyone that has done him wrong in his life during the trials the entity couldve done the same with david with his enemies. But he's a different case because he's a man thats very good at giving hope to other people which the entity feeds off.
