Can players be banned for grieving, trolling being an unsportman?
I play in a region with 90 to 95% of troll players who ruin the match as survivor and I always get pissed off at them and report them for playing the way they do. I don't want to name the region I play on but I hope these reports actually mean something cuz these players are WAY to misbehaved and they love to throw games

Yes, people can be banned for griefing/trolling/bad behavior, but I believe that you have to report in game, and then also submit a support ticket with video evidence of the behavior.

the problem is 90 to 95% of my matches have these players. It's extremely frustrating to keep on recording and submitting video evidence of it. I don't mind doing it in game though

Most of what you are probably reporting them for isn't what they consider bannable, you really have to go out of your way to get a ban in this game, unfortunately you can't decide how someone else plays the game they bought.

It depends on the offense, you can find more information here:
Keep in mind that most of these offenses require video evidence and a report on the Support website: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/categories/6713776396180-Dead-by-Daylight

It seems there is a lot of confusion about what's bannable as far as trolling I've seen it pop up a lot lately, can you clarify what specifically is bannable when it comes to trolling? Ive heard a few different responses to this and from what I can gather , trolling to BHVR is something different than what people are reporting for

I think people have a very loose definition of trolling, rules-wise I'd say you can consider refusing to participate to the normal gameplay as trolling, so offenses like teaming, holding others hostage, etc. which are considered griefing.
I feel like a lot of players see honest mistakes or lack of game knowledge as trolling, for example a teammate dropping a pallet on someone else's face, when maybe the person just did it without thinking.

I agree with you. for me imo, trolling is when 2 survivors at the start of the match. survivor on hook and another slugged near hook not moving away. throwing strong pallets early in the match. not unhooking. Many forms of trolling from them. Especially in high level. gold and up

So if I get a whole squad to head on and flashbanging the killer while t bagging the whole match it's not bannable as long as at some point we're touching gens to try and escape? That's the type of thing I feel like people are reporting even though I'm pretty sure it's not bannable

2 survivors get caught early in the match* sorry didn't specify it in my recent comment

HMMM that last line is rather specific :P
I am guilty of this as well.

Does it count as trolling when it's repeated in the match? Someone spam vaulting, getting in the way of a chase, or wasting a pallet isn't trolling, but someone who pointlessly fast vaults near everyone they can find, repeatedly blocks doorways in chases, and drops every pallet in the map probably is trolling even if it's possible that they're just really bad at the game. I see this behavior a lot out of survivors that want to die and got saved, where they go "if I can't leave the match, I'm going to ruin it for everyone."
There's probably a pretty blurry line between where that behavior is considered innocent and where something is considered trolling, but I'd hope that you could report someone for excessively doing it.

It is a fine line in some cases, that's for sure, I do not work for Support, so I don't know the extent of their leniency.
In situations where they are actively blocking you or leading the Killer to you and similar cases, I'd say to report if you think they are doing it on purpose.

Not unless you have video evidence and a signed affidavit from the offender stating that they were trying to cause you a bad time.

No, you can not get banned for doing this. As long as you are not hacking or glitching you will not get banned for anything

You forgot about the lawyer and insurance claims

Absolutely correct. The confession needs to be notarized as well. My bad.
