Should I Be Scared?

So, someone I know got me to stream my PC and change my DBD to basically set something that was true to false, basically it's supposed to make the game run smoother, especially for skill checks. My game is much less laggy, and I was told all it was, was just a setting that's in the files instead of the game settings. I think he called it "turning off vsync" which apparently a lot of the player base does.

I'm a little concerned though. I've heard it's not against the rules, however if the anti-cheat picks it up and bans me there's nothing the devs can do to help.

A: Is it likely I'll be banned, and has this happened before? I'm finding everyone very vague about it, and I'm not sure what the risk is.

B: If the anxiety gets to be too much, can I just switch it back in the files, and then will it be okay?

No chance you get banned, you can change it back at any time.

yes you can switch back the files

and Vsync basically locks your fps to your monitor Hz

when you disable it you allow the game to run in higher frames

and tbh most of the time its just problematic soo you should be fine dw
