We shouldnt be depiping on games where theres an early dc

Its already a pain to deal with solo q teams for many reasons. So consistently pipping can be quite a pain. When a dc happens at the start, which happens a lot, why isnt it an auto safety pip? A 3v1 is going to be a loss at least. Then put that in with a killer who still sweats and tunnels or camps people to death. How is that in any way in our control? Its very frustrating to have my progress being reset by dc's or by people giving up.

As I said before the band aid fix for this is to make it so that its at least a safety pip. The real fix is to add bots but that would require some improvements on the bots.

    I kid you not the very next game. These games followed a game where i got the chance to play with a good swf against a competent wraith that I double pipped on. Very good game. All progress taken away because people dc. Horrible system. Im at Iri 3 and I think Im just going to settle for that. Since 1 in 3 games are normal.

    At some point they answered in a Japanase Q&A that they want to keep the Depip as something to reward Skill or something like that. But yeah, it is pointless to have Depips when Grades are just a reflection of playtime.

    At the very, very least, no Depips should be given when someone DCs and escapes and 4Ks should never result in a Depip. (Even tho it is rare to 4K with a Depip, only possible if you kill all Survivors with Myers, but still)

    One argument, for or against depends on where one stands, is that I've noticed that when I'm close to finishing a grade, I play very differently* than when I have nothing to lose.

    And, as it was discussed a while ago, I know I'm not the only one acting like that.

    They should just get rid of depips entirely except for the people who DC.

    If you DC then you deserve the depip.

    Agreed, dont know what it is but, it has gotten worse, piping when you reach iri in solo queue is hard enough as it is,you either steamroll the killer and dont pip or you get face camped because you run him for too long and you die first hook. The in betweens are so rare and to lose all that progress because "i dont play against nurses zzzzz" losers is annoying as hell.

    I think if they're going to take the stance of grade only being a measure of playtime, I agree. As it currently stands, it's like 80% a measure of playtime and 20% a measure of skill. While grade progression is largely a formality, I feel like there is a very soft skill ceiling on grade; if you really are a total potato, you will at least stall out in the iridescent grades, if not gold.

    But if they want to admit that grade doesn't quite mean nothing, de-pipping (but not de-grading) makes some sense. But it seems like a half measure either way. Either make it mean something or nothing.

    Now de-pipping in a match where there was a DC absolutely should not be a thing. If a surv dc's before they are down to their last hook state, de-pipping should be disabled for all other players.

    Suiciding on hook would be a bit trickier to deal with, as the system would have a hard time differentiating between that and a surv being left to die by poor teammates who probably deserve it.

    You have to be careful because you definitely don't want to start rewarding people for a teammate or killer DCing, but at the very least no one should leave any worse off than they came in, except for the DCer.

    I've noticed alot say that risk of losing pips has them play sweatier and use more "winning" load outs, once they get to iri 1 and there's no worry of depipping they play more "fun" builds and don't try as hard to win. I've definitely noticed myself changing how I play if I'm having bad luck with getting the last pip I need to make it up a grade.

    Not excusing them, but I noticed both you and the killer have bad ping. I've had a couple games lately where it's been near impossible for me to play because the killer or a teammate have bad ping. I went down in like 2 seconds every chase with a Wesker the other night, where I'd try run through a doorway, for instance, and a second later my game jumps and my character is running into a corner and going down. It could be that they simply couldn't play.

    I can confirm both instances were rage quits. One when they discovered what killer it was and the other on first down. Png was fine during that match. Even with the symbols up the whole time I had no latency issues and the killer had no odd hits from what I could see.

    Yes, they say that and it annoys me because I play more than most streamers I follow and yet.... I've never gotten higher than Gold IV and I'm lucky to get out of bronze lately... Either I am tunneled out, left on first hook on survivor. Sure, I get a few good games and then I lose my progress... Killer I get up decently but then I have a string of generators popping like crazy on a huge map and no amount of slowdown perks or even Franklin's helps.

    Killer felt more rewarding and more fun to play post 6.1. Killers are on training wheels now because people don’t want to put in the time to learn the maps, mind game properly and learn to utilize and counter certain perks. This whole last 4 months has been a slap in the face to people that have been playing DBD for years prior that actually took the time to develop the skill to counter good swfs which was the beauty of playing killer entirely..

    First game of the night 2 people 1 hooking themselves. I was able to get 1 save from the last person. The huntress camped the other hook of the last teammate. The whole time I was trying to work on gens but she had pain resonance so I couldnt make too much progress since people were getting hooked so fast. I was able to get out without getting hit via hatch. Still a depip, so now I'm back to no pips iri 3 because people refuse to play this game. Im just going to throw all notable games in this post.

    I think 3-4K should always result in pip as you won and it should not matter how you did it. I recently have had many 3-4K but not pipping and then I get depip when I get one 1K agains't coordinated swf. I don't think I reach red rank this month im only silver 1 and been stuck there for week.

    Shouldn't be able to depip at all for both sides. Depipping should be reserved for the ones who choose to DC.
