question about Feng's name compared to others
so, Feng Min's name is actually written the way it would be in her own country: family name, then given name.
but, she's not the only person from a country that does this, and yet she's the only one whose name is actually written this way. Yui's name in her chapter announcement trailer -was- written as Kimura Yui, but it still isn't that way in the actual game.
I'm just wondering if there's any particular reason bhvr made this exception?

... Wait, Feng isn't her first name, but her last name?
Her actual first name is Min???

It is weird that Yui isn't given the same treatment. Huh.
Same goes for Oni. I don't know if Spirit's full name is written out anywhere, but her grandpa is designated Kazan Yamaoka in his character backstory even though it should be Yamaoka Kazan.

Min Feng would sound horrible XD
Yui kimura at least sounds good. Kimura yui wouldnt sound too bad either though.. but "min feng" i dont think so XD

They do this in Korea, too, but Hak Ji-Woon and Lee Yun-Jin are still called Ji-Woon Hak and Yun-Jin Lee. That's an odd inconsistency I never noticed before.
Oh well, I'll just chalk it up to golden child Feng Min getting special treatment as usual. It's less of a headache that way.

I think this also stems from Chinese playerbase. Feng Min and the doctor are basically created by Chinese players because BHVR asked them what characters they'd like to see in the game. At the time there was a serial killer who had targeted gamers and Doctor is based on him. Doctor was actually going to be Chinese as well but since the serial killer is still alive and his victims aren't that long ago they decided to change his ethnicity and nationality to avoid too many similarities between the two. This is why Feng Min was shipped with The Doctor and why her name is probably spelled that way as it was mostly made by Chinese players.

Yup. That's why her adept achievement is called: adept min.

Oh my god, you're right.
I really wish there was some sort of clarification in her lore or something. I, and I'm sure many others, have got it backwards the entire time...
(And I mean, I'm fine with calling someone by their last name, but almost everyone thinks it's "Feng Min" and not "Min Feng", if you know what I mean...)

the names are oriented on how good they are to say phonetically.

Yh it's an asian naming convention i think. They usually refer to people by family name first and given name second.

Said inhumane sack of crap that the Doctor is based off of is still allowed to practice medicine legally as far as i am aware by the way

They're original characters..they could have named them whatever they wanted to make the name "sound good" while being written correctly

im pretty sure the real one is behind barrs nowdays. If still alive in 2022, he was an old man anyway.

i think its the same reason why it doesnt say "min feng" because it just sounds better that way. To westerners at least i think.

Entirely subjective. I think “Min Feng” sounds way better, personally.
