Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Killer MMR finally where it should be

Recently I've been playing killer a lot (was a killer main for 2 years but took a 3 year break to play survivor) and was constantly being paired with survivors who were clearly much better than me. Game after game I was getting 1 kill if I was lucky, but the majority of the time it ended with 0 kills and maybe 3 hooks on a good day. It was getting so frustrating to even enjoy a game (I made a post about it a week or two ago).

Last night it seems my MMR has finally settled to where I should be. I feel like I'm on the edge though because if I get 4K, the next match is always a sweaty game.

Since I've noticed this I completely changed my outlook on killer and instead of going for the 4K, I always let the last 2 survivors escape (unless someone DC's or Suicides on Hook, in which case I let the last survivor go). This makes the game so much more enjoyable, and the survivors always appreciate it. The hate messages I used to recieve have turned into compliments and respect.

Since playing like this, I've had 8 back to back games where I could have got 4K, but was more than happy with 2K. Now I'm enjoying playing around with new builds without needing to use the meta or gen regression perks.

Just wanted to share my experience.

You mean there is no mmr for killers whatsoever. xD

I play the same way, not to 4K every match but just to have fun. I commonly give either hatch or gate to the last survivor, and play very fair overall. Not only am I in a sweet spot where I can still win without resorting to sweaty strats or perfect loadouts, but the survivors usually notice the way I'm playing and are generally very nice both in game and in the endgame chat, whether I won or lost. =)

I do have some killers I'm less likely to mess around with and do try to really get better at, but even then I can't bring myself to be too tryhard. If in a game I notice that I would have to tunnel or camp a survivor to win, then the survivors deserved the win in my books. I'll try and get a few more hooks but I'm 100% okay with losing, because we'll all have had fun and that's what's important to me. =)

It's definitely the way forward! Similar to you, I do have games where I need to complete a challenge so am less generous but overall it's much more fun to not care about the 4K.

I was also tunnelling in the games against sweaty teams and would get a killer here and there but figured this was only hurting my MMR in the long run. Now I don't even need to think about tunnelling or camping.

Caring about respect and admiration from the survivors is pretty silly imo. They only like you cause you made the game easy for them lol

i personally have the feeling, that mmr has a delay from about 24 hours.

Lol, there's always people on these forums who try and find the negative in everything.

I'm happy and having fun, and so are the survivors i'm playing against so who cares what you think 😘

Lol, deliberately going against the established design of the game “MMR” is no different than cheating. Breaking the rules because of the inability to play at an actual skill level is no different than just entering a hack to teleport across the map. That brings the entire health of the game down, and I’m the negative? K

I wish I could say that my killer games are somewhat decent, but that couldn't be any further from the truth. These days I rarely play killer because in the past I was constantly getting sweaty games, and trying to learn new killers that you're unfamiliar with in a sweaty match is just horrible.

The other night I played a Legion match against a four-man SWF, and not only did I not manage to get a single hook, I didn't even get a single down. It was abysmal. The match after that I managed to get one hook and nothing else. I will say they were offering a 100% blood point incentive for killer, which probably highlighted just why the matches went the way they did. Queue times were most likely getting long for survivors so the game threw them into a match against a killer regardless of experience and their MMR.

Bottom line, SBMM doesn't work nearly as well as we're led to believe.

My opinion on you feeling your MMR is were it should be based on one day of it feeling right is that it's just a fluke. I had a day with mostly good matches as a survivor a month ago and thought the game was actually fun again but the next day it just went back to normal.

Okay pal. Hacking the game and giving the survivor the hatch are the same thing. Gotcha.

You just made my day 😂

Even if that were true, who is going to report you? The survivors you just gave tens of thousands of BP to?

You know this could very well be the case, I've had a few games today and they've all been great but I'm sure I'll get some tough ones soon.

Even still, I won't care as much because I was used to having 8 sweaty games and 1 good game. If I can now get away with 8 decent games and 1 sweaty game I'll be laughing.
