Is it ok to DC from a match...

Is it ok to DC from a match where the killer is idling?

When you have limitied time to play, that is really a waste of time.
Lately it has been hard for me to find ”real” matches, so I started to DC.

You won't get banned unless you do it really often.

However conside ring that it doesnt even  take 3 minutes to knock out all gens, I don't see a reason to dc unless you are being hold hostage by an afk killer

Maybe for a Master it takes 3 minutes.

I sometimes have problems even finding the generators.

If a Killer is botting (doing nothing but M1) or AFK, it is bannable to farm points via Killer interaction - such as by running in front to trigger a chase and farm Boldness, or take hits or heal for Altruism and Survival. You’ll only risk being banned if you’re reported under Unsportsmanlike Behaviour (I think) and/or video evidence is provided, assuming you are botting or farming with the bot.
However, if you just do the generators and leave, you’re fine. If you get in a game with an idling or botting Killer, don’t interact with the Killer at all, just complete generators and go. You won’t get banned for doing your objective and leaving immediately.

Regarding disconnections though, you don’t get punished for disconnections unless you do it too much, and the bans come in waves and hit many people at the same time. One or two disconnections here or there won’t get you punished, but if you disconnect nearly every game you play, you will be hit by the next ban wave.

They always spawn in the same patterns. Take the afk match as time to get better and memorize the locations for the real matches.

@Judgement: how come it’s ok for the killer to bot, but not for the survivor to interact? I would have thought neither would be allowed, probably there is some reason I don’t realize?

Being afk is not bannable, however bottling is even if each doesn't detect it (same for struggle macros)

At least that's what I've been told by mods. If that had changed, then I will need official confirmation. (Guess you need to derank cx DCing if you get banned for afking lul)

Killer botting is literally not even playing the game - they are using a program outside of the game to basically play it for them and farm points with Survivors. It is NOT okay for Killers to bot, this is PERMANENTLY BANNABLE behaviour.
It’s illegal for Survivors to farm with the bot as well because of what the Killer is doing.

You are right, I should try that. I have a hard time orienting around the maps.

Being AFK one or two games is not bannable, nor is going AFK mid-game like a pseudo-ragequit or something, but if you go into multiple games in a row and leave it alone, your account will rack up AFK reports and once the appropriate authorities of the game check it and realise ‘yeah this guy’s actually doing what the reports say’, you will get sanctioned.

You misunderstood me, boring is bannable, there is no doubt but eac doesn't detect it.
Btw it is not bannable for the survivor to farm with the bot, farming is allowed unless it is forced farming.

Being straight up afk (without bots) is not bannable however

Where did they say this? Because last time I asked this was fine to do. If that is not the case, then you need to derank by DCing apparently

Perhaps it’s another topic, but could you explain the deranking?
Why, how, when? The reason is just that players feel they need to play in lower ranks?

Imo its because killers rank too fast and dur to the ranking system and resets people with 100 hours can find themselves playing against people with 1500 hours.

So in the end it becomes all about that noed crutch which isn't fun for anyone.

It takes more time to learn how to counter loops too than it does to loop.

    Yes, I can understand that.
Is there some info about the ranking system somewhere?
