for some reason i was playing nemi today, and i got three dcs in one match? i did slug but its not my normal playstyle, and they kept grouping up and making it stupid for me to do anything but slug.

should i like. feel bad? should i just not slug even though that's objectively a worse play?

(also, please don't say some rude ######### about "oh entitled killers" or "oh entitled survivors" i just want to talk about this)

They kind of forced you to slug. If they're going to stop you from hooking they should expect it and plan for it accordingly. As an example, when I run Flip Flop, Power Struggle, Tenacity (so if I'm left alone for more than a few seconds I can pallet stun the Killer when I'm picked up) I fully expect that the Killer will leave me slugged after the first time if they can't pick me up immediately.

It's just salt you should ignore if their playstyle forces you to slug, nothing else.

Never feel bad if you're just playing the game to the best of your ability with no ill intentions. Don't let people project intentions onto you either

If you go out of your way to make other players miserable on purpose (Example: 4 man bleedouts), then yeah you should feel bad because nobody likes people who do that

But you're clearly not doing that, I imagine you're just trying to win so don't sweat it. People get mad no matter how you play.

Sometimed the game spawns you all together and the killer has Lethal Pursuer, which I find it really ######### up early game for the survivors as they don't have enough time to scatter. I notice it quite a few times as I being Distortion and I can tell, so even I end up getting caught while trying to sneak away because I cannot make enough distance in that time and they just run in my direction sometimes when killer is chasing them.

Play in which ever way you like, as long as your intents are not malicious.

You felt like slugging was the logical choice, so you did exactly that. I don't see any problem with there. Unfortunatley some people will be bad sports no matter how you play.

There are always situations during which slugging is the logical play.

Generally playing fair makes for chill games, but sometimes stupid stuff happens and it results stupid situations.

Plus, some players DC for the most random reasons. I've had I don't know how many DCs just for playing Legion.

Don’t ever feel bad for playing the way you like to play. I’ve seen some killers be intentionally toxic, like one game last night where the killer just let the last survivor lay on the ground for a few minutes before hooking him for no reason. As long as you’re not doing stuff like that, no need to feel bad.

PLEASE for the love of God and for your own sake, NEVER question your own playstyle. They are just bad at loosing so they jump on the blame game because they are salty. You didnt cheat, so your fine.

Killers have various diffrent strategys and you will learn to juggle and adjust your playstyles not only on which killers you might play as but also on what survivors you are facing. And what the situation you are in is giving you. Taking advantage of mistakes the survivors make is all what playing killer is about.

If you face a team of 4 people that perfectly play and never make mistakes you will not get any hooks. If they do a mistake, you will get them. So taking advantage of this just means you play killer normally. If you feel in a good mood and decide to play layed back or want to even give them chances, that is also fine. But it has to be your decision, there is no code how a killer has to play.

    This is really solid advise.

A while ago I got pretty salty and burned out by the constant BMing of toxic survivors and decided to strike back. Next game I got a 3k, but it was very hard earned and especially that one Nancy gave me such a hard time, juked and cornerteched me a couple of times and only went down when I finally got Bloodlust going.

After that I let her bleed out on the floor while nodding at her. In the post game chat the Nancy was very disappointed with me and asked what she did wrong and why I would waste 4min of her life. In retrospecion she actually did indeed nothign wrong. She had no flashy and never pointed at me or t-bagged me after palette vault. Indeed all she did was playing very well and evading me and lasting a long while in chase.

I had projected the previous toxic survivors gameplay onto her, even thoug that Nancy was just a random good player in the next match, totally unrelated to anything that happened before. I felt really bad about this and never stooped so low ever again.

It also helps to watch streams of TTV players after a game. A lot of the behavior that tilts you and makes you think "what a toxic A**!!! How can they be like this, do they have no conscience?" is actually just playing survivor and trying to do various things: diverting your attention from a nearby gen or the two survivors healing behind that stone, or them missclicking a button, flashing at you or them just being plain innocent. I had one twitch streamer whom I left on the floor for a good time commenting in the sweetest, innocent way "aww .. that killer is is sweet. He is just standing there and doesn't want to hook me. No its ok, just pick me up", not gloating or anything.

So I highly recomment to not fall into this hole of bitterness, but just try to let BM-ing slide off of you. This people are most of the time either teens who don't know better, or young adults in their early 20s who try to be edgy and to impress an audience, but most aren' malicious, but just trying to enjoy a couple of rounds of DBD.

Every groups playstyle is different . That's what we call "altruistic" however they weren't good so they got smoked friend. Know that won't continue, and as you climb the MMR ladder they do that bunching up less and less
