The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

As a Survivor, what do you when...

...you are on the Hook and you see other team member(s) just walking around the map or hidding somewhere, not doing anything at all. I offten times play Kindred so everyone else can see what other Survivors are doing or if the Killer is near by. I had teammates that will just keep hidding or just walk around the map while you are on the hook and other Survivor is being chased and they don't even try to rescue you or something. Sometimes I ask myself "Why even bother playing Kindred when no one acts on the extra info they get".

Oh hey a loaded question that isn't really a question but a cry for confirmation of ones own behaviour.

What i would do? Switch to my second screen and watch something on YouTube, go take a leak or something and just wait out the 2 minutes.

And if they save me in the meantime? Won't probably matter since teammates like that would most likely lead the killer straight back to the hook so i would be immediately back on in the second halve of my 2 minute waiting time.

I remember staying in a struggle phase to buy time for The killer to find them because you know, it's not fair. These days it doesn't happen to me anymore because of Kindred. In rare cases where there are at least 2 teammates who don't cooperate, I'm out, not wasting time.

It nothing you really can do beside go next. Unfortunately some teams are doom from the start. Most of time u got at least 1 weak link/potato teammate. Sadly the only thing u can do is get good at looping or just swf. I go into solo q just assuming my team will be useless despite them being in the red ranks most of the time. Most survivors can't loop for 1 gen let alone 2 but claim they top mmr.

I go into soloQ exclusively to practise chase. Load in, get on a gen, do that until a killer comes around, get my chase and then my teamies get ten seconds to do sth useful or I'm out. - So, in your scenario, I would look at them for ten seconds, roll my eyes and then take my chances followed by two missed skillchecks.

--- And as a bonus: if the teamie on the hook is running kindred and I see that I'm the only one on a gen after a chase and/or the only one on the way to hook and potentially the only one who is in a reasonable location I usually do the staring at the sky thing in front of hook, look at the teamies' auras, and shake my head. I still unhook them - and occasionally we're on the same page and just dick around until the killer comes around (which happens pretty fast usually; they can't find anyone else cause no one is in any of the places they're supposed to be) and then we both just get out of the game. At that point I assume even the killer knows what's going on.

    I... just hang around?

See, thats the reason why i don´t think that inbuild Kindred would be a solution for solo players: People just ignore it.

I will do 2 mins of skill checks, they might actually come for me, and even better if the killer is proxy camping. Because then the time the killer waste on me, mens that they have less time to actually get a good score.

If i on the other hand would just suicide, its worth it for the killer and they can just go for the next guy, and chances are that they will continue this strategy because suiciding on the hook makes it worth it.

I stay around but the rest of the match don't expect me to do gens as well.

I remember one time in rpd one of my teammqte swas hooked and the killer inmediately saw me and started chasing me all over the map.

While in chase, i could see with kindred a steve that was walking and hiding the entire game, not even unhooking even if the killer was on the other side of the map.

In endgame chat i asked him why was he letting everyone die and not helping and he answered: "I am new, i was scared".

    I felt so bad.

If u play Solo and u see 3 useless teammates, just play defense for the hatch OR just die on the hook if they dont unhook you.

A nice little indicator is the gen-count and the amount of hooks. If 5mins are over and u still see 4 or 5 gens to do, go for the hatch.

It's a heartbreaking scenario, but even in soloQ I try to play the most optimally I can (not sweat, just optimally, like remembering not to 3 gen the team or know when it's safe to heal/unhook or not).

So the answer is stay on hook and hit those skillchecks in stage 2. Even if it's with a deep *sigh, feeling and I sometimes die on first hook.

They're typically waiting for you to die (or they're new). Doesn't matter what you do at that stage, you're probably gonna die either way. Either wait and hope, or let go and go to the next game.

I am patient until I hit second stage and then I don't hit the skill checks and move on to the next match.

As i said, if you suicide you are enabling this behavior, and you are most likely to run into this again. because THEN it pays off...

If you drag time as much as possible, the killer waste hes time and will not score very well, at some point they might see that they dont get very much from this. They loose a lot of points camping and they also dont score much by not engaging in chases and not kicking gens.

I wait. If I go into second stage I'm not struggling. Useless teammates are not worth my time. Killers love to see it.

Depends, but usually I’ll wait 58 seconds and then try to jump at the last possible moment. Assuming I don’t succeed, I won’t struggle after that.

Well if I reach second stage, I mostly likely will kill myself on hook. No shade at the killer, but I'd rather end the match knowing i will not be rescued and will end up with like less than 10k points

I move on or play for hatch, depends on the match.

There's nothing you can really do. Matchmaking is going to place you in unwinnable games from time to time regardless of where your MMR is. People don't want a competitive mode, this is the alternative. Most of the survivor playerbase isn't looking to be optimal.

Leaving on hook OFC. why would i stay? has nothing to do with MM people in solo q always pretend someone else will go for you and oftenly u will enter in Second stage EVEN with kindred because SOLO Q is selfish and they dont care for you is literally 1v1v1v1v1 thats what solo q is, reason why i never play solo q anymore.

I let the time run out. If i see nobody is coming to rescue, i try to unhook myself. If that doesn't work, and I get to stage two, I wait a few seconds to see if anyone is coming to rescue. If noone does, I just press space until I die. Why would I waste my time in a game like that?

Depends on game situation,if its early and i can tell its gonna be a loss I die and move on.

If I'm 2nd last survivor, and the other person has been really useless all match, I hold on for dear life to prevent hatch spawn in the hopes the killer gets them

It was not long after RPD came out that DbD lost the Stranger Things license. So, that dude lucked out showing up and getting the Stranger Things DLC when he did, assuming he was telling the truth about being new. He got it just before the content was locked.
