After the ‘MeTa ShAkE uP’, what’s the most used perks Killers and Survivors use?
Not trying to make a us vs them thread, so let’s keep it civil.
Killers: Pain Res/DMS/Eruption/COB/Overcharge/Deadlock and NWO.
Survivors: Dead Hard/OTR/Sprint Burst/Adrenaline/DS/Windows and Boon totems.
Honestly, I really prefer the old meta cuz this new meta is really annoying to go against and it didn’t change much if you look at it right now. People still bring Pain Res and DMS and Dead Hard with OTR almost every game. Old meta was so much better, and less stressful to go against then the new meta.
What are your plans thoughts about it? And is the 80 sec on a gen gonna comeback or is gonna stay 90 sec gen time forever?

I still think builds are more varied. Using third party sites like Nightlight or even the official stats, we can see that even if the old meta perks are still "the most popular" like DH, the usage still dropped : 40% before, 20% now. Same for BBQ if I remember correctly.
I think the 90 seconds gens are fine, and so was the meta shake up. Some of the nerfs were a bit much (Iron Will and Ruin for example) but I like that many underrated perks got some buffs. I hope to see more buffs to unused perks in the future.
I think the current meta might be a bit boring, but so is every meta. Seeing the same things over and over is bound to be unpleasant.

You forgot Unbreakable, Prove Thyself and Hyperfocus + Stakeout. I don't see that many DSs anymore though. My games have been less predictable than before. That is for sure. Sometimes I can even go for a hit immediately without waiting 5s just for the survivor to Dead Hard for distance to the next pallet. I 100% agree though that the current killer META is horrible to play against. Full Slowdown and nothing else.... Great. Too bad they didn't buff BBQ a little so that it's pick rate would not drop beyond reason.
The 90s gens are probably going to stay. Which is a good thing considering they are constantly adding ways to make gens go even faster.

What meta shake up? It's the same game. We use different perks to achieve the same things we were doing before.

Seems like we will have another "must have" perk situation.
Killers before had to use a bunch of regression perks to have a standing chance, and now, survivors might have to use gen speed perks to have a chance.
I'm just worried history will repeat itself.

For survivor, I've actually seen a lot of people using Boil Over/Dead Hard/Adrenaline/Windows Of Opportunity/Circle Of Healing the most.
For killer, it's Pain Resonance/Corrupt Intervention/Eruption/Dead Man's Switch/Plaything/Pentimento.

I actually like the new killer meta. I was using overcharge before the buff. I don't even have the other perks so what I try to do is use No Heal Docktah

I think the meta has pushed the game into a rough state where survivors dislike the new regression perks so much that the go-to strategy is to slam generators with Adrenaline so you don’t have to deal with them—at least, that’s how it feels in my games. So it creates a vicious cycle of survivors having to slam gens to deal with obnoxious slowdown, and killers having to run obnoxious slowdown to deal with slamming gens. It’s an unpleasant experience for both sides especially if you try to avoid running meta; in my solo queue games where I’m running perks like Empathic Connection and Solidarity, Eruption + CoB + Penti + whatever are miserable, but at the same time as a killer player who limited himself to 1 or 2 stall perks before 6.1.0 and continues to do so now, I feel like gens are going even faster than before, because it’s all Adrenaline + PT + Hyperfocus genrush squads who are sick of the slowdown.

Every meta is boring after a bit. I know what to expect from killers and survivors most games. As a killer I don’t use metas and I’m having GREAT results. People aren’t ready for the counter play.
‘As survivor I don’t use metas either. I’m mainly soloQ so I run perks that give me info and help us get out asap as a group

I agree, I hate running meta perks as killer, but I actually miss old Pain Res for the information. I was hoping that would be able to replace BBQ, but it just turns out BBQ is the better info perk now.
But I've recently been having fun as GoCart Ghostface. Originally picked as a meme build to zoom about the map, but it's actually worked out quite well because survivors don't expect the Agitation/Mad Grit combo anymore without Starstruck to give it away. And because NOEDs nerf dropped it off the top slot, that's similarly unexpected.
I just wish I had another niche speed up perk to play with besides Agi, NOED and PWYF.

How can you say old meta was better ???????
Do you remember old ruin with old undying ? There could be 4 ruins in one game !!!!! And play that with Blight and old Tinkerer ???
No way I want to go back to old meta. New meta is sometimes annoying but way more interesting !

Survivors: Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Decisive Strike, Prove Thyself, Windows of Opportunity, Adrealine, Hyperfocus, Stakeout, Off The Record.
Guess the most meta 4 perks right now i see being used is Dead Hard, Off The Record, Adrealine and unbreakable. This is what i see the most.
Killers : Overcharge, Call Of Brine, Corrupted Invention, Eruption, BBQ, Deadlock, Plaything, Pentimento, Pain Res, Dead Man Switch and Lethal Pursuer.
I don't see full 4 gen defenses in every match but when i do see it i fully understand it. Usually its at least 2 of the gen defense perks and maybe 1 info and 1 chase perk or 2 info perks.
Funny Thing is the meta on survivor is almost the same it used to be if not still exactly the same. Killer side i think it changed more.

ah yes kicking gens for absurd regression with no requirement is wayyy more interesting than killers actually having to pressure gens and esrn their slowdown

Fair point. In a game that is influenced by loadouts as heavily as DBD is that might be unavoidable, though.

I think the 90 second gens are fine if DBD decides to place the Ruin and Thana change on other regression/slowdown perks too. Ruin and Thana thrive as long as all 4 survivors are alive, but once 1 is dead, they are useless. The biggest issue of this meta is that you can tunnel someone out as a killer, reduce survivor efficiency from 1/1/1/1(1 on a gen, 1 in a chase, 1 on a hook and 1 rescuing/healing) to 1/1/1(1 in a chase, 1 on a hook and 1 having to bounce between gens rescuing and healing). So you reduce survivor gentime from 1 done every 90 seconds to 1 done every 180 seconds or so, especially if they still heal up. Yet Pain Res, Eruption, Call of Brine, Pop, Jolt, Overcharge, Gift of Pain and even Dying Light still work at 100% power. So from a survivor perspective, Pain Res goes from reducing just 15% extra time on 1 gen, to being capable of fully regressing a generator because there simply arent enough survivors to combat it.
I think generator blockers overall are still fine in the current meta, but the regression power gives killers a massive benefit for tunneling(even though devs wanted to reduce the ability to do so).
Survivor meta is overall quite fine. Windows of Oppertunity is just meh and you can memorize most, it mainly helps with finding pallets. Adrenaline is easy to counter with NOED or Terminus. OTR is a fair perk in most cases(altho I am of the opinion that using any item that isnt required to use(the box, vaccines, sprays) should count as a conspicious action. Maps give away where the hatch is for example. Flashlights allow you to rescue a survivor who is being carried(which IMO is worse for a killer/better for survivors than unhooking). Keys literally allow you to see the killer or see teammates. And Medkits+toolboxes are already in a position where actively using them is considered a conspicious action, pulling all items in 1 line would add some logic to gameplay while also being able to buff/nerf some of them accordingly), Sprintburst and Dead Hard are both fine. The worst perk IMO is Hyperfocus.
If Hyperfocus loses some of its power, or make it significantly harder to hit after 3 stacks, I would say survivor meta is fine. Killers would need gen regression perks to either be like exhaustion perks or they need those perks to stop having (as much as) an effect once 1 survivor is already dead. Either that, or survivors need to start getting more action speed(faster totems, faster gens, faster heals) bonusses once 1 survivor dies.
Personally, I am in the place of reducing gen regression once 1 survivor is dead, because then there is a lot more room to buff certain things on the killer side that currently irk me. Like locker searching speeds, lighting up the auras regardless if they are in your vision or not, adding a basekit 10% haste that lingers for 10 seconds once a survivor is hooked, having haste if you're outside of chase for too long, increased window vault speeds.

Not sure why you say "MeTa ShAkE uP" like it's a stupid or bad thing. In higher levels of play you were guaranteed 3-4 Dead Hards, 2-3 BT, 2-3 Decisives, and at least 1, maybe more Iron Will every single game. The variety you see now is far, far better. Although you'll still find many of the same perks.
Even after the nerfs, Dead Hard has come back to be the number 1 survivor perk in high level, unfortunately. The reward is bigger now, though it is harder to use. Off the Record is surprisingly uncommon, not sure why. I guess there are just more fun perks around.
And I've noticed more and more killers running the strongest slowdown perks, even in mid mmr. Corrupt, so much corrupt. Deadlock, ERUPTION. God I hate Eruption. Pain Res and DMS combo, which was removed but then brought back due to an interaction with Merciless Storm, instead of just changing merciless storm...
I think we could use a part 2 of the shakeup, where we nerf the most powerful slowdown perks, and buff the weakest perks on both sides.
