Nerf nurse
You must nerf nurse already

Ah yes, a nerf Nurse thread. I'm sure this thread will add something new to the discussion.
12 -
Nurse is fine if you are good
3 -
Which the majority is not.
7 -
I will add a prediction as to how this thread will go.
People will say Nerf Nurse! because of
(a) Anecdotal reason
(b) Anecdotal reason
(c) Personal reason; and
(d) I am high MMR and have played in tournaments but can't provide any footage but my opinion is worth more than that of you filthy, unwashed peons who enjoy Nurse!
People will say Nurse is fine and point out that her kill rates are not extraordinary. Other people will do logical gymnastics to say that doesn't mean anything.
People will say Nurse is fine. Other people will say she is not fine. Other than the kill rates people will point out there is no factual evidence Nurse is either fine or not fine and be thoroughly ignored.
The thread will become people repeating either Nurse is fine or Nurse is not fine. Some of the people who hate Nurse will say that people who play Nurse are terrible people because saying somebody is a terrible person for playing a character in a video game is totally a mentally healthy thing to do and does not by any means suggest the people insulting Nurse players are overreacting and have issues if they take a game so seriously.
After a few hundred rounds of people repeating 'She's fine' followed by 'No, she's not' the thread will die, another thread will pop up, and no changes will be made to Nurse by BHVR.
I'm not sure why but saying all that gives me a sense of deja vu. It's almost as if this happened dozens of times before. Crazy thought, I know.

And that's exactly why we need to talk about something really important.
Is raspberry clafoutis better than apple pie, or vice versa? 🤔
Personally, I think it depends on the moment of tasting 🤗
2 -
Now I'll give everyone the hottest take I can to spice up this thread: How about instead of nerfing or reworking Nurse, we revert her back to 2018 Nurse, who's with me?
1 -
You know. I started playing this game this year. HALF the time I played with Nurse people gave up. What is funny to me is not how op this killer is. It's that people don't even try most of the time. Many many times people gave up on me when they could have won. Prestige 50 40 80 guys giving up on a guy with 10-20h as nurse in the game. And you know what it means having less than 100h with this killer.
When I play survivor I have a very good time playing with nurses and it's a killer I generally handle better than a couple of others (mostly thanks to my girlfriend that is op and can play against nurse very well).
I understand the frustration of playing against god level nurses... But do you even ever play against such players? I have a much lower escape rate with killers like Plague compared to this one!
3 -
Before anyone replies saying killer sided blablabla. Yes it is op. But there is always going to be a "op killer better than others". You can suggest reworks and fancy ideas. But my point stays ^^ you shouldn't feel "defeated at the start". As you can escape more Nurses than what you think!
+ the trend of playing nurse as a killer is started by how unfair low mobility feel to play against certain maps with the current surv meta. So it is an antistress killer to main. Once you gitgud you win. Many killers can't say the same on every map
1 -
What is raspberry cauliflower and how can you suggest it’s better than apple pie??!??
3 -
What the hell is clafoutis?
(I know i could google but let's engage in a conversation 😜)
2 -
😂😂😂
At this point every time I read another "nerf nurse" thread headline i think of a small gnome just peaking out of the brush and quickly peep that catchphrase just to disappear again. Just like in some cartoon. That much of a joke has this topic and it's neverending repotion become for me.
Especially posts like this that have the argumentative value as my above described comedy.

This is where the biggest issue lies as far as I am concerned.
Nurse is strong and of course her attacks being special attacks, along with double range (in particular) being nerfed could all help to make her easier to deal with. But as a former Nurse main the biggest issue I find is 90% of survivors appear to have no idea how to counter her beyond a corner juke or obvious double back. They appear to be all out of ideas after one or two obvious tactics and will even drop pallets randomly mid chase out of desperation.
As a Nurse main I found I often got sloppy and went on autopilot mode, so when I did face actual good survivors I sometimes got rolled as I became lazy and complacent and didn't expect good countering. This is the problem, most players ARE casual in DBD and they are not able to deal with a killer as strong as Nurse when played competently and this is incredibly unfun for your average casual to deal with.
Something definitely has to change

Survivors: "Nerf Nurse! Nerf Nurse! Nerf Nurse"
Devs:
"Past buffs to The Trapper have made him a wee bit over powered, so these changes are intended to adjust the most obviously overpowered elements:
- The Trapper starts the trial with 0 traps (was 2)
- amount of randomly spawned traps is reduced to 3 (was 6)
- disarm time is reduced to 0,5 sec (was 3,5 sec)
- escape attempt time is reduced to 0,3 sec (was 1,8 sec)
Traps have been balanced to provide more consistent game experiences and to bring him up to our modern standard of play. We’ll continue monitoring how he performs, and potentially have more "changes" for him in the future. Muahaha..." (Entity giggles)

Sacrilege! I didn't say cauliflower, but clafoutis 😃
The ultimate in culinary delicacy 😍
2 -
Google said: a type of flan made of fruit, typically cherries, baked in a sweet batter.
Personally, I think it's not just a simple dish, it's a blessed dish straight from heaven, that the Gods invented one day of great goodness 🤗
In fact, the DbD killers themselves love clafoutis 😛
The survivors too!
Claudette, for example, who is always hidden in the bushes 😣
In fact, she's not hiding! She is looking for berries for her own recipes! 😮

Well luckily the majority of Nurse players are also not good. So it evens out.
3 -
The sad part is everyone is just DCing or flat out quiting when facing a Nurse that they won't get any skills when dealing with her.....I'm a horrid Nurse player and When I decide to pop her out to practice with her I get 1-2 DCs after my first blink.....the majority of people who call for stupid reasons or just say NERF NURSE without adding anything new to the conversation probably don't have the skills to even deal with the babiest of nurses
4 -
Yes, Nurse is hard learn and can be extremely frustrating for the Nurse player. If survivors even spent a fraction of the time a good Nurse spends to get better, then we wouldn´t have any nerf Nurse threads.
5 -
What you say is interesting.
I am a main nurse.
Mind you, when I say "main", I don't mean "level of mastery", but "time spent".
I think I have a good level with her, I know her mechanics, my muscle memory and reflexes are good; I am not at the level of tournament nurses, but I am doing well.
I have almost no DC in early game when I play with it.
Out of thousands of games, the number of early game DCs is really anecdotal, as is the number of salty survivors insulting me in the end chat.
So, indeed, if the nurses who have a few hours with this killer know a lot of DC, it says a lot about the mentality and the level of those who DC...

Haha, at least they werent buffing survs perks just to leave them with a restriction that made them worse than before.

This is why I don’t respect this forum.

legion main 💀x7

too many post were done but the only really really logical is the speciall attack m2, blight has special attacks while using his power and makes sense, both are strong that would balance out the insta down meta nurse wich is obnoxious and completely unbalanced... and i think even the most delusional nurse mains would agree to this, having such power is unhealthy for the game, is already a lot having to deal with omega blink and oduble recharge every single game.

if u have good addons they carry for the nurse as crack addons and insta down ones did it for billy back in the day and he got nerfed even when he was top and required some level of skill and now way mopre than before, why nurse is not receiving the same treat?-
1 -
Billy was the gold standard for a perfectly balanced killer. Both killers and survivors agreed that he doesn´t need a nerf.
No one knows why he got the unjustified nerf. So not really comparable to Nurse in my opinion.
1 -
Reminds me of something.... Majority of... Was it Dead Hard users? I think so... Yeah... Majority of Dead hard users couldn't use it properly, revert the change I guess.... /s
1 -
No we must not.

Honestly just ban anybody that fuels the Nurse echo chamber without providing valuable insight and gameplay from now on. I dipped my hand in that pot a few times too a while ago but it’s old now because of how it keeps popping back up everywhere
2 -
eeem not really his basekit was completely fine his crack addons and insta down werent fair. besides nurse sure does need a nerf way more than billy needed thats for sure.
1 -
Turning the nurse's M1 into an M2 would deprive her of some attacks that are not even overpowered, which makes no sense.
To deprive her of Starstruck, you just have to play on her TR.
As for the "exposed" perks, only Devour Hope and MYC (when coupled with Flood of rage) are really overpowered and dangerous on her.
I still agree about preventing the nurse from using NOED.
1 -
Actually, as much as I love clafoutis, the Paris-Brest is my favourite pastry by far.
I'm drooling just typing the name.
2 -
Daily nerf nurse thread? Check
Would it kill you guys to at least name it Nerf Nurse? Gosh, Nurse is a person 2
1 -
Your idea was amazing, literally. Like damn, you just suggested something that will solve all her problems and make her fun for both sides!
/s
Seriously, if you're gonna go through the effort to make a nerf X/Y/Z thread, at least offer solutions or something to address the problem.
Heck, I believe she will be fine if we just make her chain blink attacks special attacks.
1 -
Nurse is the killer that allows players to role-play the role of a dominating, too-strong killer.
In a game that strives for balance that kind of character doesn't exist. Sadly, the devs seem to enjoy that kind of character being in the game.

I think the overheat was because of camping as Billy and how you could hold the saw forever and insta-down anyone who got close. That, and how as Billy you almost always want to be sawing... which is how chases against him would typically go. Saw, saw, saw.
I suppose BHVR didn't like one or both of these...
1 -
I'm sorry but this doesn't work. Even bad players could use DH successfully. It's honestly even easier than learning Nurse, knowing to simply DH towards a pallet or vault isn't too difficult to learn.
1 -
DH is still the second most used perk. So if the aim of the 6.1.0 patch was to chuckle up the meta.... uhm yeah...
0 -
I can´t remember any threads about this. I mean, there were threads about literally everything. But Billy had little to no nerf threads iirc.
0 -
The whole mechanic didn´t made sense in that regard. Bubba was used predominantly to basement camp. The overheating mechanic didn´t change anything in that regard. Basement Bubbas used Insidious and reffed the chainsaw once someone attempted to unhook before the mechanic and they still do after it.
So... its just something that attempts to overcomplicate the game. Nothing reliable to count on as survivor.

To be fair the Reasons for the Nerf Nurse thread was started as a discussion about why is there so much vitriol directed at Nurse and how her unique game mechanics complicate the discussion. Some posters are just saying nerf Nurse in it but the thread was posted more of a discussion of the psychology behind it because the discussion around Nurse is more nuanced than the usual 'I think this might be too strong' or, alternatively, the 'I just want an advantage' reasons behind most calls for nerfs. The thread isn't a call for nerfs but rather a discussion as to why the nerf threads exist.

"Seriously, if you're gonna go through the effort to make a nerf X/Y/Z thread, at least offer solutions or something to address the problem."
I completely agree.
By the way, the more discussions there are about nursing, the more we see that there are actually two types of speakers on this forum:
- Those who know how to discuss in a calm manner, respecting other people's opinions, reading, studying and discussing in a thoughtful and intelligent manner;
- those who are only here to criticize, without proposing anything behind; these people are easily recognizable by the excessive use of generalizations and exaggerations whose form tries to impress, to hide an unfortunately rather empty background; we also find the fact of criticizing in a sharp way the opposite camp ("Your word is biased BECAUSE you don't think like me / because you play the nurse"; "You, nurses, you are (. ...); the ultimate was even reached by a member of the forum who declared; I quote; "I have no respect for the nurse players" ...; but it can just as well work the other way around, and someone whose only interventions would be to say, for example: "Anyway, you, the survivors, are stupid and you don't understand anything!" would correspond in the same way to this kind of behavior so sad ...
Concerning the fact of changing the M1 into M2; at the risk of repeating myself, but it is not serious, because we cannot read each intervention either, and it is quite normal 🤗
if we change her M1 to M2, she won't be able to use some skills like Jolt, Sloppy Butcher or K.O., which are not too dangerous on her 😌
I understand that the reason why changing her M1 to M2 comes up so often is that people are thinking about the fact that she won't be able to use Starstruck anymore, for example: I completely agree about Starstruck, and for that, you just have to remove the nurse's TR when she carries a survivor 😊
I also agree to prevent her from using NOED 👍️

Exposed addon for Nurse when?

The ONLY place where it could be interesting to have it would be in private games, for trolling, with friends 🤣
