Body blocking, reportable?
Lately I have had many discussions around body blocking and if it is indeed bannable. Now I am not talking about a survivor body blocking another to prevent a hit from a killer, or a killer strategically body blocking a survivor in a corner (waiting out endurance or something similar). I am referring to a player blocking a player in a corner for an extended period of time preventing them from playing. Be it a killer blocking a survivor, or a survivor blocking a survivor. In a situation where the game could technically progress (other survivors able to do gens). But body blocking with the specific intention to grief another player by preventing them from participating. I have seen old posts from dev's saying this is not acceptable and is indeed reportable/bannable. However given that those posts are old and currently the game rules say body blocking is not reportable unless it takes the game hostage if the game can progress it is not reportable (I personally think of it as taking an individual's game hostage). Is it a reportable offence? I would REALLY appreciate a dev's input here.

If you bodyblock to save your teammate - completely ok.
If you bodyblock to prevent someone play a game (hold hostage) - report.

See this is my thinking as well, however if it is a single individual and the game over all can progress many people say it is not holding the game hostage. This is why I am trying to get an answer from a dev.

The only body blocking that will get you in trouble is blocking a survivor into a corner for an extended period of time. Yes the game can still progress overall, but for that one person it cannot. Their options are either wait and hope their teammates do gens and wait out EGC or quit the game and eat a DC penalty. It is reportable.

I appreciate that input. Thats what I got from it as well. However there are A LOT of people out there who believe just because the game can progress any body blocking is ok. That's why I am trying to get input from a dev. If you have any dev posts/proof from later than 2021 I would greatly appreciate a link.

Hello there! Essentially yes, this is holding the game hostage and griefing.
Body blocking a survivor in the corner before endgame collapse happens is breaking the rules. It's griefing that survivor.
