Amazon Prime and locking green tier skins behind it
I think it’s been since Artist that they’ve done this. I was able to get those ones because of the free trial but now I need to actually pay for the subscription and I’m not doing that just for green rarity skins.
It’s a shame that skins that are more unique than the default get locked behind this system when they never were prior. Why does it have to be the green skins? Why not just simple recolours that look nice. It’s taking something neat that we used to get for free and locking it behind unnecessary walls just to promote some other product.
How do you feel about it?

It's skins. I don't really care.

I'm fine with it. I had a Prime subscription before BHVR got on board, for the free shipping and Prime Video. It's just a bonus for me

Its fine, people pay for cosmetics.
but tbh. with the quality if the latest prime rewards for dbd, the only reason im keeping it is because the quality of the content on Prime Video have become better.
Im not keeping it for the dbd skins anymore.

I hate it, because it contributes to some characters having less cosmetic options than others (haddie for example). That being said I'll never understand people who got prime gaming for exclusive DBD skins. Prime gaming is more like a perk for those who already have a amazon prime subscription, but I would never get it by itself the rewards for most games are often times just lootboxes or recolors.

No, not really.
I got Prime for the perks, the streaming were just a bonus.

Same happened to Haddie which sucked. They should eventually come to the store like archives cosmetics do imo

if the skins were actually any good i would agree with you. Although i have prime and will have for 2+ years now the cosmetics kinda suck. I am giving the codes to friends if i don't like them (for example the trickster) and the current one the legion weapon is a pointless cosmetic because its just a knife no one can really see in the game.
Regardless though of how good or bad the skins are these skins are a partnership with prime gaming and as they don't give any in game advantage then i don't see the problem with it.
You say its taking something that used to be free but lets face it. if these skins were made and not put on prime gaming then it would be auric cell skins most likely. Either way u would have to pay for them.

All characters wear potato sack jumpsuits, Killers and Survivors. Is that a game you would play? Doubt it. Cosmetics make a big difference.

DbD already has an abundance of skins so I don't care about most Amazon prime skins.
The only skin I cared about was the Jeff skin since it is amazing, he barely gets any skins and I am a Jeff main. I picked up a 99 cent trial to nab it.

But they don't, and that's not the game we're playing.

Them being locked behind the amazon prime subscription makes especially little sense considering BHVR's own "no exclusives" policy.
What happened to that?
I'm fine with people getting something for free that others would need to pay for by having an amazon prime subscription and potentially even getting it early, but it needs to be made accessible to all eventually.

So you are saying the aesthetics of a game matter?

It not looking like trash without shelling out is. And the base cosmetics are perfectly serviceable.
You're talking about a game that isn't the one we're playing, so I don't know what your point is.

BHVR is a business, they want to make money so I can't blame them. As long as they don't start selling cosmetics that give you a speed boost or lets you teleport, they're okay with me.

This attitude is why these practices have become normalized. Wait till your favorite character has a cosmetic you really want but you have to have a T-Mobile plan to unlock it.

If that happened with my favorite character, then I just wouldn't get it. It's quite easy to say no. It's a video game cosmetic. The world won't end if I don't get it. Completionist attitudes are why these sorts of collabs work.

You don't need skins to make the game look decent, the game looks decent by default. Your argument makes absolutely no sense lmao

It's a cosmetic skin in a video game, dude. It's not that big of a deal. Calm down.

seriously don't bother with it, they gave away a knife A KNIFE
which was probably made in the last 3 days before the reset
just forget it lol

I rather they give us the option to support them through the purchase of things that have no bearing on the outcome of matches rather than force use to a monthly subscription or to raise the price on chapters and characters. And as @Nazzzak said, I simply wouldn't get it if it was locked behind something as you describe. Sure it could be frustrating, but they're not doing anything inherently wrong as long as they don't give us another NFT fiasco like they did with Mr Baldy.
