Because on Playstation (maybe xbox too im not sure) there is a bug currently when loading in the cursor doesnt get replaced by the controller, so they cant move and have no other choice but to dc.
also servers disconnect alot lately, but also, what ive seen most -> people abuse the DC penalty reduction. So all 3 issiues mixed together just means DC,DC,DC. Cant even play a few games without someone or multiple people dcing.

Do you really want to waste time in a game where you know the killer is only going to target you after being unhooked? You wont get any points or anything because all you are doing is just running the whole game. Minimal objective points (cause your team is probably not doing gens while being chased) no Altruisim, becuase you are the only target. No survival, because you will die. Its a big waste of time, i dont blame people who DC if they get hard tunneled. Ive had to play a lot of 3v1's and i understand why they do it.

maybe switch to a diffrent game then when its that bad. At least you can go onto the next game after you died on hook but oh well, now that the penaltys are low we can abuse it dont we?

I do swap games when it gets bad. Learn to read what i wrote and youll see i play them out. I only Dc if the killer obviously is cheating

But appearantly when other people DC its okay when the killer doesnt follow the survivor rulebook is what your saying, again. If the game is that bad dont ruin it for others and dont tell people its ok to do so.

Thats the point they cant, they will loose pips because you decided to throw the game cause there was a slight inconvienience that match.

I do it all the time. I get pips all the time. Just cause 1 person DC's dosent mean I can no longer work gens or unhook others who dont dc. You just give up and stop playing when someone dc's from your game

I haven't noticed an increased number of rage-quits, not even of hook-suicides.
I would love if the it was punished more harshly right after the player has been downed or a hooked.
That being said, the game seems a tad more unstable since the last release. I've got it closing all by itself when starting and yesterday I've closed the game while in a lobby and I got a crash report window popping up.

i mean i have noticed this uptick and it seems im not the only one. I just wish they would give us back the normal dc penalties, it was fine as they were.
i get the game is unstable in some cases rn but that just means they need to work on it ASAP. as of right now they just avoid any confrontation, merge threads together (meaning they indeed read those) and idk what they are doing. This is the problem, a simple "we are working on it" would alredy be something. But they cant even give us that, guess i wasted money with this game because its unplayable rn.

It's easily replicated on custom matches against bots if you want to see for yourself. But yeah, unplayable.

Unplayable summs it up pretty well. I really would love to have my money back rn. But that aint possible so ima going to stay mad until they fix it or despite having put money in it im able to cut myself loose from DBD.

I’m sorry but this cursor glitch in PlayStation makes me glad the penalties are off. Please keep them off until bugs like this are fixed

I fully understand that. But i want the devs to finally acknowledge the issiue and find a REAL solution instead of just letting us with 1 minute penalties/off penalties for litteraly over 2 weeks by now.
By a real solution i mean finally fixing this issiue. Like... How big do you wanna screw up? BHVR right now: "YES!"

People refuse to acknowledge this even happens. People pretend like every DC is just someone who is salty because they got downed early. The majority of DCs I see in my games are people who are being face camped or hard tunneled off the hook. Then this leads to the chain reaction where the rest of the team just gives up since the game is a lost cause. I feel like it comes down to people feeling like they're in a no win scenario. Same reason people immediately give up against nurses and alch ring blights with four slowdowns.

i don't blame survivors for disconnecting. unless they do it mid or late match n screw everyone over during a hard fought match. if you're gonna d/c, do it early.

I've kept track of teammate DCs over my last 24 miserable solo queue matches. There were only 2 DCs and surprise, they were against an alch ring/crow blight and a 4 slowdown perk + strong add ons + autohaven offering nurse.

Still it was better when the old penalties were there, if we come to a point where killers even have to play by your rulebooks in order to have a normal match i really think this game is the wrong place for me, im not here for your entertainment. And if devs promote this by reducing DC penalties then im certain this game will die in the long run.
But what yall with this argument are missing is that devs probably have done it because of the instable servers and Playstation cursor issiue that is occuring rn.

I disagree. I think DCers should either play Killer, only play with a 4 person SWF or just not play. They're terrible players in a team based game and DCing hurts the other survivors while only benefiting the Killer unless the Killer is nice enough to let the other 3 survivors go. If they are nice enough to do that then they probably weren't going to camp or tunnel anyway.
If you are going to rage DC, don't queue up as solo. You're a liability and there's no need to wreck the game for the other solo queue survivors.

thank you! but it also doesnt even benefit the killer if it happens like that. There are 4k challenges, less bloodpoints gonna be earned because the matches will go to end even faster etc. And besides that it really doesnt feel rewarding stomping 2 entire survivors because half of their team dc'ed. I gave some people hatch but some also just pointed at the hook like it really doesnt matter, the round is ruined either way.

i also made several posts pressuring them about how they need the very issiue you are talking about fixed ASAP. In this thread alone i have said it so many times.
i DO understand the reason for no penalty, i AM glad for people like your friend. But on the same time people abuse the penalties like hell rn and its no fun at all. Im dealing with it/seeing this now since 2 weeks no matter if i play killer, soloQ or randoms dcing out of rage in our swf rounds last 2 weekends.
it doesnt matter honestly if dc because of rage, connection issiue or the playstation issiue. Its just DC simulator right now and nothing else. Devs dont do anything about it, so they better get their stuff together and fix this alredy, we payed money for this game, cant believe they can screw up that big.

Here's an idea. If you dont like the ragequits- how about YOU go find another game to play. No one should be forced to stay in a game they don't want to play. If the game is miserable and not making them happy, they have every right to dc. Like its a GAME. It's played for enjoyment and right now, game after game is not enjoyable because the game is that unbalanced. Behavior needs to add a system that gives killers more bp per dc and adds a bot or reduces gens when a person dc. But you are entitled to think that everyone else exists to make sure you're enjoying the game. These dcs are behaviors fault. And that's coming from a survivor main who deals with the negatives of dc all the time. I don't dc. But when someone on my team does. I understand. I literally cannot blame them because this games so bad right now. If you can't find it in you to get over it go play with some bots. They won't dc.

well fact is now that penalties are reduced DCs happen way more often. The game didnt magicly get that unbalanced after the new update, last time we had that many hook suicides (not dcs because of penalties but hook suicides) it was after the 6.0.1 If people hate the game that much they can go, why do i gotta go? because i dont like when they have temper tantrums? DC penalties are there for a reason. well.. they was.

You're incorrect. As soon as you press the button that says ready you've agreed to play the game as intended. Your teammates are assuming you'll play as intended and that's what you agreed to. If you're not willing to do that, don't play or play a role where you don't have teammates (or, alternatively, play only with people who accept that you may DC).
If you DC you're the problem and a terrible player in a team based game. Either try to get better or don't play solo queue.

Both examples I gave were at the end of the game with one gen left. The survivor had done gens and made saves, and quit with one gen left in one game (on their first hook) and another the survivor dc'd on death hook which is no point. And they were not tunneled. That is a way different scenario than someone getting tunneled off first hook at the beginning of the game with five gens up.

Do I like tunnelers? No. Do I like campers? Also no. Do I realize when I boot up the game that it is going to happen? Why yes! There has been times where I am tunneled the whole match and still make it out. There has been times when I pull off an almost impossible hook rescue last minute. With solo or swf I try and not leave a man behind. If I am camped I have the mindset to let the killer have their pity kill and hold on long enough to let my team do gens and get out. Hopefully, the 'only I' matter attitude will die when they add additional points for each teammate that makes it out. So you quit the game to escape misery for one person and gave it to three? To me campers at 4-5 gens have given up on the game as much as survivors who dc on first down. They aren't going to pip or get much bp and they don't care. I don't know why either continues to play the game. I wouldn't continue to play a game that makes me miserable.

I've been seeing a lot of DCs too, I had two different matches today with 3 DCs.
What astonishes me is people will ragequit when they just got hooked for the 3rd time, it does nothing except rob them of all their points and occasionally it actually gives the killer a few extra

Yeah i'm pretty tired of survivors wanting me to go easy on them and farm just because someone dcs cuz they dont like the killer.
I was playing Trickster today and a survivor dced at the start of the game.
They need to add bots when someone dcs,so many quality of life features that are not yet in the game.

And, yeah, the HUSK system in development will help with this, replacing the DCed gameplay abandoner with an AI and continuing the game; the AI's control is not perfect, but just being there is at least more helpful than the useless game abandoning DC player.

fun is viewed diffrently, BHVR tries to balance things out but there will always be miserable rounds, for both sides. If that is something you cant take and quit all the time because you can abuse low penalties then you need to get into some other game, dbd is obviously not for you. The penalties are gone atm and lowered for pc and look what happens? the game is unplayable because people like you abuse that fact to quit over every oh so slight inconvienience.
thats why we need penalties. And we need them back ASAP.
it robbs the killer off of his hook sacrifice which can screw with challenges. Its a pitty behaviour in denying the well earned hook because they take a game too personal. They dont care about the points in that case.
last weekend when i played we also had a trickster and i was duo swfing with my friend, we had one rage DC as soon as they got down. Ofc the trickster kept playing normal cause why not? its not his fault and he probably wanted those points, maybe had even a challenge. I surrendered but he proceeded to give me a halloween toolbox that was laying on the ground and let me escape with it through hatch. Idk why people hate on trickster so mutch, good ones can spray you with their knives like hell but i dont see where the issiue is. Is nowhere near annoying as onis one hit power or thombstone myers. or a facecamping bubba.
well right now everyone does ragequit because of the most stupid and willy nilly reason, even if they think the grass on mcmillian isnt green enough smh. Thats why i dont play DBD anymore until we got the penalties back, its worse than after the 6.0.1 update.

if you just got death hooked, it doesn't even rob the killer of a sacrifice, because it still counts you as sacrificed because you were literally mid-death
on the other hand, I played several matches as survivor today and I think every one had someone ragequitting near the start of the match

if they quit right after the start of the match it could also be they are not able to move because BHVR screwed up big time.. I dont get why they cant get it fixed for over 2 weeks now.
but if they did move around first and then quit as soon as they see the killer thats definitly a rage quit.

The players that really need to be brought out behind the shed are the petulant killers that DEMAND MORE PENALTIES so they can keep getting their easy 4ks. How selfish and self centered does one have to be to not have considered any of the threads that survivors have made about how unbalanced and unfair solo play is and has been since 6.1. If someone is going to blatantly ignore the valid reasons why survivors quit games and just stomp their little feet to MAKE IT STOP DEVS!!!! BAN THEM!! HURT THEM! They have nothing but my pity and contempt. The game is broken and terrible for a majority of the players but all you can do is think about your own easy game. I CANT COMPLETELY DESTROY ALL 4 SURVIVORS ANYMORE because THEY QUIT!. NO FAIR!!!! Seriously. You people need to get a grip and some class, empathy and sportsmanship while you’re at it.
