Why does dbd mobile has more quality of life features than core dbd?
They have bots to replace dcing or disconecting survivors.
You get a highlight of generators that are nearby, not their exact location but the right direction.
This is not a quality of life feature but it has some really cool skins that are only available on mobile.
Would dbd ever be able to get a replay feature that will help dealing with hackers a lot easier?
Or a match history feature?
This game is not lacking content, because there's already a lof of killers, survivors in the game and a lot of perks.
But it really lacks accesibility and quality of life features.
The game doesn't have a perk search button that would be really handy with so many perks in the game already.
The main frustrations of the game come from the lack of quality of life features and not the lack of content.
How much better would it be to play the game if you could communicate somehow with your teammates with emotes or short messages.
I think BHVR will gain a lot more players if they dedicate 3 months for this instead of releasing another chapter.
Even the rewards are lackluster,I never do the daily trials because the rewards are not worth for playing a killer or survivor I might not want to.
Trials and bloodweb needs to be reworked.
It would be nice that instead of the current trials, you get a variety of rewards to choose from everytime you go into a match by having to do different challenges.
10% chance of getting 5 auric cells.
20% chance of getting 100 iridescent shards.
30% chance of getting a brown or yellow item of your choice(depending if you play survivor or specific killer).
40% chance of getting a random purple, iridescent item,or event item,if any event is available(depending if you play survivor or specific killer).
With the option to spend 20k bloodpoints to boost the chance of the chosen reward by 5%.
I know these might be hard to implement or impossible in Dead by Daylight due to issues with the code but the game really needs this more than new chapters at this point and I think the devs that have to deal with this deserve more appreciation as its probably an incredibly difficult task dealing with it.

Dbd mobile is made by a separate developer hence the differences
As for replays the game would basically have to be built from the ground up to support it. No really feasible with 6 years worth of spaghetti code.
The blood web is fine just needs to be faster to complete imo

But its boring not being able to get any other type of rewards, you get bps,you spend on items, trials are inexistent for me.
It would be cool to get some variety every game.
With survivors having an incentive to do anything else than gens by doing challenges for tempting rewards.

"Why does a thing made later have more nice things integrated into it"
It's a self-answering question, if you think about it. They didn't have to bolt everything onto an existing game (although main DBD has been very slow to adopt some good ideas)

You could also say BHVR had a lot of time to implement all those things, but didn't.

But they didn't have to revise their entire game structure to incorporate them.

I think at this point, with the whole p2p system changed to server sided, etc. It would be better to launch DbD2, transfer all progress/unlocks/licenses to the new clean game and start from there. We already have the basis for a relatively smooth ride. Since we can connect the accounts to bhvr accounts.
Now the question is, if the numbers add up for bhvr to make such a move.

I think it's so that it's an incentive to play both versions.

Agreed. It would be a pretty monumental undertaking though and would probably cause a content drought for dbd itself (Think what happened with OW2)
I’d love to see dbd transferred to a more stable system though

So make solo queue worse by having a bunch of survivors going for challenges. I wouldn’t care personally but that would be a dealbreaker for many

"The game doesn't have a perk search button that would be really handy with so many perks in the game already."
That would really be so nice. Just the search for perks name would already be a big QoL improvement. Personally I would like such a search to work with the perk descriptions as well. For example, it would be nice to search for all perks that inflict certain status effect. I like to compose my perk builds with a certain "theme" in mind, so having such an advanced search would help me with this.

Oh yeah it would be monumental. But it would also allow for a clean system full of all the implementations players have been asking for so long, without risking spaguetti code of doom.
We could have ingame match recordings, improved reporting systems and all those little things that can´t be implemented into the current version, because of the spaguetti code.

well well well maybe BHVR should learn one or two things from the company behind dbd mobile. Sad they never will.

imagine if both teams combined on the core game, it would be in a really good state right now

At least bring them in so that we can see our teammates perks in the pre-game lobby.

A new engine is a beneficial long-term goal. But re-releasing under a new name (even if it’s just appending a 2 to the title), is a detrimental one.
It’s a live service model, it should hold one banner to corral its player base.

DBD mobile is made with the assumption that people using phones have crap audio and spotty connectivity by default. So these were priority features.
That being said it would absolutely great to have them in as a toggleable feature. Heartbeat for sure. Not sure if there would be a more thematic way of making the generator icon appear, probably would need to be some kind of screen border effect based on proximity.
