Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Why are ppl quitting when about to face the Knight?

Ever since the update released, I faced the Knight 0 times because every time I see the lil loading screen message about the Knight and get excited to finally face this killer for the first time, one survivor quits the game during the loading screen, effectively preventing me from playing vs this killer and also not receiving a matchmaking ban for it.

So, my question is why? What is so wrong with the Knight on survivor side that makes people not want to face him?

The lil messaging in the loading screen showing who the killer is only helping the ragers.

No, it's not, there's multiple killers chasing you, what are you supposed to do about that besides just die and go on the hook??

Not overpowered in the slightest. Guards literally can not catch you in time if you run in a straight line away from them as soon as they detect you. If a Knight is trying to go after an injured survivor together with a guard, a healthy survivor can purposefully get the guard's attention before it locks on to the injured survivor so that the injured survivor can loop like normal.

The only thing that feels a little cheap is when the Knight uses his power at loops for literally a split second just to force you away from the loop... but as soon as you see him put his sword in the ground you make a break for the next loop. But this is all he's really got going for him so...

The Knight is the weakest and most literal "hold W to counterplay" killer they've ever released, and I can see how some people might be bored to death of going against him already. I'm not at that point yet, and idk if I'll ever get there considering the sheer number of killers in the game and how unpopular Knight appears to be to play, but I'm just saying, I can at least understand if there are some who dislike versing him more than other killers.

I'm hoping that they're at least rage quitting against him because they've faced him. If they're rage quitting just because of the concept of them facing him, simply because they've heard other people call him "unfair OP", I don't know what to say.

Survivors can outrun the guards. Unless you've already trapped yourself in a corner, they can't hit you.

Because he's quite boring to go against is my assumption. I never DC, but from my personal experience going against him, I'm assuming that's why.

He is a strong killer in small maps where outrunning his guards is difficult, in soloQ is quite bad and most of the Knights I've faced tunnel and camp, not necessarily with his guards, since they can despawn after unhooking someone. I played both sides, but most of my wins as Knights where in small maps, Midwich is hell with him.

In soloQ you cannot catch a break, so it's boring to play against. I would prefer a Wesker or Pinhead where his side objectives aren't a pain.

As for my games against the knight, I noticed that many of them tend to be extremely lazy and camp / proxi camp in early game.

If that kind of player comes by this forum, and reads this thread, I feel like telling you: first learn how to win without camping the first survivor you catch, and then you can play the Knight. The Knight doesn't deserve to be played by idiots who misrepresent what he is: a great killer, original, and frankly interesting to play.

I mean, at least you get games vs Knight. I can't say the same 😂

    Thought I was missing something

See I can't ask them bc they straight up close the game during the loading screen. I have to wait 2 min for the game to finally realize someone left and get me out of the loading screen.

It could be more than 1 person raging, but the game will only show the first one.

I can only imagine how the killer feels, being unable to start a match because of the loading screen text revealing the killer type

I can only speak for myself but for me he is very un-fun to go against and the only option you have is to hold W to the next loop as he uses his power to block the current loop. There is no mind game, no fun looping interaction, he just blocks the loop and forces you to move to the next loop and repeat.

It isn't about him being OP, it is just not fun versing him imo

Because a lot of Knight abuse bugs and camping with make your choice.

I just had a knight with the luckiest devour hope spawn just camping hooks with his power and make your choice, and of course my soloq teammates didn't know better and rushed for the save.

He got the most undeserved 4k I ever saw.

I haven't seen people do that. But it might be his playstyle is pretty unpleasant to go against. He works best proxy camping hook with his patrols.

I come across em, but I can never get to the match 😂

Ive faced the Knight only once in the PTB. I was mostly trying out the new perks with bots rather than go in real matches, so I was hoping that in the live version I will face him but nah. I'm being denied by my teammates

I understand that he might not be pleasant to face, but it kinda sucks for everyone that might not have had any experience facing this killer to just be denied that opportunity whether it'd be a fun experience or not.

Unfortunate stuff..I think it'd be better to just remove the messaging about the killer during the loading screen, since that's the thing that reveals him and prompts the other players to quit with 0 consequence.

When you leave the match before it has started, you don't receive a ban and all other players are going to be stuck in the loading screen extra long than usual only to see that the match is not going to happen.

From the killer side, I imagine it is especially annoying when survivors do this, given that the waiting time for them is usually longer to find a match to begin with.

At first, I thought that someone crashed during the loading screen, it has happened to me too, but then it kept happening only when the killer would've been the Knight, so it kinda clicked that it was on purpose 😂

Yh I certainly don't condone quitting out. Removing the load screen tips is a good shout. Much as I like knowing the killer beforehand, as you say it also allows people to pre ragequit with no penalty.

I don't mind playing knight personally but his playstyle is not a fun one for survivors. Same with twins. When i run twins as killer I notice a LOT of survs DC against me. Makes Victor sad 😭
