This is just a rant from a bad player
Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh I'm so BORED of getting stomped on every game, it's not even funny. I'm tired.
Tired of getting bodyblocked as the killer 24/7 with people having Boil Over.
Tired of EVERYONE SOMEHOW perfectly landing flashlight so much that if I don't run Lightborn on every single killer I'm guaranteed to be perfect blinded everytime I even try to pick up someone.
Tired of the gen going so fast that I HAVE to bring slowdown perks. I don't want to bring slowdown perks, they take a space I could use to make a fun build. But there's literally no time to have fun.
Tired of everyone DHing pixel perfectly everytime so much that I question the little sanity that remain in my broken brain and even wonder if they're using a script or whatnot. I don't want to accuse anyone of hacking. It's low. But it's EVERY TIME LIKE THE FLASHLIGHT.
Gods be damned, why do I still love this game so much even if I have a terrible time when I play. It hurts.
Yes, I should git gud. Yes, those are skill issues.

I really wish there was a coaching sub-forum. I feel like there's a lot of constructive help that could be given if people include VODs with these posts

I wish DBD made it a little easier to learn a new killer. Having your new killer set to the same MMR as your other killers, which you may be much more skilled in, isn't terribly conducive to learning a new killer. Sure, bot games can help a bit for learning a new killer, but that only takes you so far.

Actually, this has crossed my mind as well. Or a Discord where people could try to 1v1 killer and try to get better at chases. I'd love that. It doesn't help that the guides forum is geared towards complete newbies and not more intermediate players and most of the time it is outdated.

The thing of HAVING to bring slowdown perks is real, even as a experienced player you feel some pressure to bring at least one depending on what time of the day you're playing (at some times, almost every survivor you face will be sweaty as hell, with map offerings, BNPs and Syringes, and playing completely off-meta builds becomes risky). But believe me... it used to be worse. Until a year ago, Hex: Ruin was the highest meta perk for killers, which sucked, because it got cleansed in less than 30 seconds quite often. It was even worse before perks like Pop Goes the Weasel... I remember how painful was to learn this game back in the day when it was tremendously survivor sided.

The comp community is very active in 1v1s. If you're interested in that, you could join a comp Discord server like DbD Scrims. I can get you an invite if this forum has a message function

I wish the matchmaking was better. Seriously, when playing solo survivor, I faced a killer with only half an hour of playtime once. I had more then 3.000 hours of playtime when that happened. DbD is a game that PUSHES you to learn and get good if you don't want to have an awfully stressful time, it's not friendly for begginers or to anyone not sweating their ass off.

Definitely. There's no incremental ramp up in the matchmaking. The games are usually manageable or total losses until you reach a level on killer where you're the match up problem for the survivors and not the other way around. It's tough, especially when the mistakes aren't obvious. A newer killer doesn't know what they don't know.

I like the idea but I feel like I'll embarrass myself😆 It sounds so serious.
I don't think the forum has messages, or at least I couldn't find it personally.

Everyone starts somewhere. I got CJ tech'd in my first comp killer game (live streamed in front of an audience of course to rub salt in the wound) and our team placed top 4 in a tourney a couple months later. There's a wide range of skills and everyone can improve if they put in the effort. Most are chill and they'll tell you how it works if you tell them you're new.

Then please go right ahead then, I would like to get better in chases. Is there a variety of skill levels on that discord? Do you happen to know?

Learning killer sucks tbh. You’ll get better but that basically means getting your ass kicked repeatedly
Honestly if you aren’t enjoying it I’d recommend just taking a break. No point playing a game you don’t enjoy

i got a perfect plan for you
bots.
yes they are not perfect, yes they feel like zombies sometimes, but you can try anything there, and yes you don't get anything but at least you are doing something

Question. What is CJ teching?, I've seen it mentioned on the forums a few times but have no idea what it is lol

It is the act of forcing the killer to pick up a downed survivor so you can flashlight or flashbang save them. The most common one is the pallet CJ tech. It is mostly done after stunning the killer with a pallet and having the downed survivor on the pallet side of the killer. After the pallet stun you vault the pallet so that the killer can not break it. This means that when the killer presses Space bar he is forced to pick the downed survivor, since he cant break the pallet, because you were vaulting it. Then you vault back the pallet and still have time to flashlight save.

I posted the link on the activity feed of your profile. There's a variety of skill, but the baseline is going to be better than what you find in a random match.

When a teammate goes down under a pallet, you throw it on the killer and vault right before they kick it so that the killer picks up your teammate instead of breaking the pallet to set yourself up for the flashy save. Not very useful against experienced killers as they often know what you're doing and you just die, but newer killers are susceptible to getting hit by it. It seems pretty dumb to try it in a comp match, but attempts are often made in normal matches despite the high risk.

Oh damn lol. That must be mad annoying for a killer 🤣 I need to try this.
