I don't really see any reason why they'd put resources into a single player mode into a game that has based it's entire existence on being a multiplayer only game. If they decided to, I'd probably play it just to try it but it seems like it would be a pointless add-on to a game that really could use some love in many other places instead.

Ofc it should, I would love to pick the creatives in bHVR mind one day on why the Creative Direction is the way it is.
I love the truth about dbd that its a diabolical Entity that scoops people who sad places to torture them forever.
But I wish the game hid that fact more, The Devs are a lil TOO happy about the games story.
I wish they would have kept the illusion of 'I just woke up in this weird place and now a big man is after me'

And how many people actually play it? Hell, how many people even know a Fortnite story mode exists?
And with all due respect to BHVR, the multiplayer mode of DBD needs a LOT of love to fix literal broken things, let alone subjective fixes like balancing and matchmaking and whatnot.

It would be fine for them to do it but if BHVR came to me and said "Tippy, you clearly are the greatest player to have ever existed and also you're super sexy, we want YOU to take over DBD! Do you think we should dedicate resources to a story mode?", my first act would be obviously to nerf pig. But my second act would be to say no to the story mode and concentrate on fixing DBDs current problems rather than adding a story mode.

I think Story mode only work well for survivors because you can give various objective to the players, just with a 3 stages per survivor, it would be enough.
Something like Dwight story mode have you start in a locker, and killer patrol around the map, your objective is to do something and escape without being seen once...for first stage.
I can image it would be really fun, if they even add Coop mode.

Dude imagine the experience of living threw idk legion lore every playable character would have like a 30 min campaign so you could be nea walking down the streets you could be feng at a eSports tournament you could be artest getting tortured in the middle of nowhere heck you could dredge his campaign would be so cool and would probably be the longest bc of all the lore idk if it's a game mode or a let alone game but all of you that say no are insane

Fortnite started with the story mode. It hopped on the Battle Royal Fad and just got lucky, but certainly rolled with it in a big way.
