You play a killer that you like to play as

If you do not like to play as The Knight, then move along

The Knight absolutely could use some love already (especially with how damn clunky it is to use his powers, why am I having to take steps back to break a pallet with my men? It takes just as long for me to setup sending the ghost dude as it does if I were to just kick the stupid pallet myself) but if you only play with killers who will allow you to constantly get 4Ks, he's not the killer for you.

If your goal with DbD is to win at all cost, sure, you'll gravitate towards other, objectively stronger killers. But if your goal is to have fun, and the Knight's mechanics are fun to use for you (which apparently they're not), then you'll play him.

I know quite a few people play him simply for the esthetics of medieval ghost knights, or to have to work hard to master a killer. Some people take great accomplishment from that.

Not all killers that come out will please everyone. Wesker came out and is a huge success, with lots of people playing him because he's apparently both fun and strong, but I personally really don't want to play him. It's alright. Not my thing. Maybe next chapter will be better suited to my tastes, but in the meantime, I'll play my mains.

Plus the devs have said their purpose is not to make increasingly good, consistently A and S-tier killers. It's okay to have more ambivalent killers too.

Why would anyone ever want to play any killer other than Nurse or Blight?

if you personally don’t like Knight, but don’t play them. It’s okay. There is a vast variety of killers and you don’t have to like everyone of them.

Then don't play as The Knight and play as Trapper instead

    Problem solved. Tippy helped!

His play style is boring, and it takes a lot of coordination to do good with him which is tedious and feels like its not worth the effort especially since you just put a lot of effort to make him look decent when he's really weak.

Some people enjoy his playstyle. I’ve been having some fun with him and his style of play even if it is weak

If you just want a strong killer you could play nurse and blight

1: you asked for reasons why, not if I know they'd apply to you or not.

2: he feels more map dependent (and abit awkward) that anything to weak. On lery's we're a monster, on cornfields we effectively stare at survivors as they run from the tin scarecrow.

You don’t have to play him in his current state. Just. Don’t. No one forces you to.

I've actually managed to have some good games with him recently. Use the add-on to extend his guards range by 4 meters. Don't use the power in a trail when you're at a loop drop the guard instantly so the survivor doesn't have as much time to leave. Only use it on specific loops where you'll get an advantage. If they pre drop just use the guard on the pallet. And you move along with the survivor to the next.

Jailer add-on with the 4 meters extra aura is good. Since he's the best chance to activate before they're gone. Or the purple hammer since the guards can't catch them for their lives, but it does slow down the survivors so you can when they escape the guard.
