The Knight is not talked about enough
It's pretty sad tbh seeing the Knight majorly ignored by the community. He has built-in problems and nobody really cares as it's evident in the front page and rarely anyone comments on the relevant topics. That sucks.

His power is pretty complex, which I know is a controversial statement, but even still he can't do much to the survivors. "Just drop your power at the loop" and making them have to run away basically results in the same outcome as chasing as an M1 and breaking the pallet to make them run away, except you don't necessarily get the pallet down, so it's worse than normal. Like most anti-loop, it's not true anti-loop.
His problems, like you said, come from his design. The banner that despawns the guard and gives Haste/Endurance was always going to be a bad idea, even if the guards' AI was threatening. So was making the survivors disappear when going into guard spawn mode, literally making the killer worse than Spirit in every way, because you can't see the survivors and you don't even get a hit from spawning a guard right next to them. The guards' chase speed wouldn't be such a problem if they chased for longer, or didn't take so darn long to get into chase. Why do they have to go "Aaaaaahhh!", move to the spot the first saw the survivors, and THEN start chasing? Why can't it be instant or near-instant? It's just a cool concept executed poorly, in every conceivable way.

what do you expect from a killer that literally got released with pretty much most of the bugs from PTB and with all the problems that had back them:Hold W gameplay + broken AI + not fun to play because of the jankiness + the best way to play the knight is by camping at the moment...
everything bad about the killer was pretty much noticeable since the first day the knight came out from PTB to LIVE. ..
and even better BHVR instead of buffing the map control / preassure playstile , they just buffed the dull anti-loop part of the killer.
QUICK NOTE: Dead Hard basically makes the killer more weaker for free since survivors can just tank the hit from a guard pretty consistently.

What is there to talk about this boring and uninspired killer ?
In the 6 years of DBD he's easily in top 3 of worst chapter releases in dbd's history
Forged in Fog is such a disappointment that we shouldn't even bother talking about and just forget about it just like the Twins
Devs have received feedback now it's up to them if they're gonna listen to the community or not but the entirety of the forums doesn't even make for 3% of the playerbase so ye
BHVR had time with the PTB feedbacks from known and trusted members of the community AKA Fog Whisperers or just regular DBD content creators
same mistakes again and again.

The Knight is a perfect example of BHVR's failing approach to DbD. Somehow they seem to think that aesthetics matter more than function. This is evident in most things they have created recently. The last 5 maps they've made or reworked all look amazing but play awfully.

Everything about him was allready said.
He is weak and boring. Cool idea, executed badly.
He needs some mini-rework. You can't use him much creatively since everything you do is told to Survivors. Best strategy is either camp or drop guard on the loop. ZzZzZzZz...

His power is just not practical imo. He sucks at chase, but buffing his chase isn't actually going to make him any more fun to play or play against. His antiloop requires 0 skill and isn't interactive at all.
This is by far the worst chapter this year which sucks because the last couple were great. Dredge and Wesker were awesome.

why should we?
it's basically hold w until you are caught and then he spams his buddies to appear next to the hook until people are forced to trade with usually 3-kick-gen meta perks applied
a chore to play against

His power is complex because you're going in blind. All you can do is use your ears or, sometimes, seeing the grass move and then you have to predict where the survivor is going to.
Their decision was planned. They wanted to make the knight bad so they can buff it later on.

agreed

My guy every page on the forums has at least 2 knight posts

I actually think Knight is the best camper in the game after Bubba but the community doesn't need to know that. :x

I disagree. I think the devs really thought that this was going to be a strong killer. They're just that detached. Why else were Wraith and Pinhead nerfed?

Do you really think that they made the Knight so bad that it was intentional? You know what, I will agree with you. I wouldn't be surprised at all with the insane amount of info he's giving to the survivors.

He can't camp hooks though. If you're being chased by a guard then all you have to do is unhook the survivor and the guard disappears.

Yes, until they all disappear into oblivion, never to be seen again.

That would create problems if the survivor was on a different level than the guard, if they are in the top gen of garden of joy, the guard would need to go all the way around to get upthere. Same if they spot someone through a glass for example.

I wanted to like the Knight so much, but his chase is so underwelming, Why would you spawn a guard that will go along side you at the same speed? The guard should incentivise the survivor to run back into the killer not the other way around.
I disagree with what most say about him, specially about him being the best camper (devour and make you choice is clearly a bug that will be fixed) if he spawns a guard just run to the hook and tap the guy and the guard goes away, there is 0 secret about it. Also I have a lot of fun vs this killer, the tap the guard on the loop sure is boring, but when the person tries to snipe you is really fun because is just like spirit, but with a lot more agency. He is way more fun than artist at least.
