What are you guys doing to entertain yourselves in this game right now Im so bored with every killer right now and the killers I usually enjoy feel awful lately. I usually play billy or bubba but the new map bugs make them kinda torture. Also if you're just gonna say "take a break:" dont next time I do Im probably never coming back to the game

That last bit is really the only thing meaningful, imo. You could perk roulette, but I just gradually played less and less as killer queues got higher and higher.

I just play overwatch, while also retreading the mass effect trilogy. But I still have the game installed. Every now and again, I need to scratch that killer itch.

I liked wesker but even he's gotten stale. Doesnt help people constantly complain about going against him

Which is why I kinda understand why people are sick of going against him but at the same time pretty much every killer has its haters at this point.

We just enjoy hunting people. Our various builds keep everyone on our toes and if we get tired we switch to survivor.

The only killer i play anymore is Mastermind. He's just the most fun to me but i still don't really have that much fun playing this game as a whole anymore sadly. I tried knight once on PTB and i don't feel like trying him again.

Before 6.1.0 I was playing killers like freddy, myers, pig and legion. But that was mainly because those were the killers i had all the perks on because the old progression system was a thing then. Now i just find them really weak and frustrating for some reason.

So to answer your question... how do you have fun in this game anymore... i guess i don't lol. There's just nothing meaningful to progress anymore. It's fun to check out new content i suppose but yeah.

    I don't know. Oo

I'm just toying with survivors sometimes when I feel like so. xD

Currently I'm trying to down 4 survivors and lay them down in a way to make "XX". Take a screenshot and add to my collection.

After I'm done with that, my next goal is to mori a survivor infront of other survivor and slowly nod 2 times...

P.s: Oops, sorry, but I have more than 1k hours...

Tomes are the reason I play @_@

Although cutting all the video rewards (except for one) in this Tome was kind of a bummer.

There's always something to get better at. I like mastering killers on a mechanical level.

I got into comp for a couple years and that kept the game fresh for a bit, but I eventually got burned out playing DbD on a schedule. Give that a shot if that's your thing.

They're worse to play, or they're more broken. Which is it?

  • LordSturm
    LordSturm Member Posts: 493

If you don't want to play anymore then don't?

I have no obligation to keep you playing the game, so I don't really care if your next break is "permanent", as unlikely as that is.

Feel free to take a break, you sound very burnt out on the game, and eventually you'll feel the desire to return to it, perhaps when you hear about a new killer that interests you or something.

    Play survivor.

Legit the worst thing to happen is you lose brain cells watching you get placed wrong in some games and your team have no clue how to play.

Dont have to deal with toxic BM or bs rng tiles etc. You actually get to use them (plus you can do other things while on a gen)

Try playing killers that take a lot of mechanical skill such as double engravings Hillbilly or Blight, even Huntress and Nurse.

    Emeal Member Posts: 5,165

Problem with playing Killer is if you get good at one killer, you cant play any other cause your highest mmr is too high for your skill with other killers. So you basicly have to play whack a mole with your skill with all killers. like rn, I wanna get good at playing Artist, but MAN do I not want to do that.

I mean i don't play religiously everyday, i mostly play once a week, or i'm on more during an event involving my characters. Lately been spending my time bouncing between God of War Ragnarok, Pokemon, Warframe and World of Warcraft. Don't consider it as a break, more of a Routlette of games a week.

I always like to succeed at all archive-missions.

I still play Freddy, but the nerfs from 6.1.0 of "his perks" (Dead Mans, Tinkerer, Ruin, Pop) hurts a lot, Im not gonna lie.

I also really like to play Blight and Demo.

Im still hoping for some love soon.

Fire Up, Discordance, TOTH and Whispers

Stay invisible for the either match

This is a game I can't play continuously. I normally play it for a while, then play other things, then come back. It keeps things fresh. If you spend all of your time on one game, it will eventually take a toll on you and you will find it boring.

With that being said, I don't really play DBD with the sole intention of getting kills or surviving. As survivor, I prioritize helping others so I tend to bring support perks as it brings me joy doing that.

As killer, I don't really care how fast gens get completed or not because I don't like focusing on them so much, so I don't bring gen slowdown perks. My favorite perks to use are chase and aura perks because I have the most fun tracking and chasing survivors.

The other thing is that I don't take matches too seriously since I'm just having fun experiencing the match. I'll mess around with survivors and killers, give myself random goals to complete that usually coincide with the build Im using, practice my looping and mindgames, etc.

The thing is that you'll never get a general consensus on what people find fun. Maybe you like playing seriously and currently find it stressful. If you can't find fun in the game, chances are you're burned out and need to experience something else. As I stated before, I can't play DBD continuously because I do get burned out too, but I find it fun every time I come back.

    Playing Sadako.

I have almost 4k hours (playing since 2017 so honestly that's probably why I haven't burnt out proper yet, because they're spread out nicely), and honestly it's just... There's a couple of killers that really click with my brain and just scratch an itch no other game can do.

Hitting sick shots with Pyramid Head, leading to a chase that lasts under 8 seconds into a DC is just so funny and satisfying.

Slaydako Yassamura gameplay (very different to mass condemned slugging), as well, just brings me so much joy because she reminds me of old DBD before the anti loop meta took over. She's pure mobility and game stall with 0 chase, and I love it.

To a lesser extent, Bubba using exclusively Speed Limiter is just so funny for absolutely no reason and I love it.

    gilgamer Member Posts: 2,209

The reson for the post is that im trying to find any last things to keep me playing. I could care less about what the devs think anymore and I know you're mostly just joking but its just sad that the game has mostly just gotten worse since I first started and im sure that's my own bias.

  • gilgamer
    gilgamer Member Posts: 2,209

Both. Take billy for example. His "rework" made him worse feeling to play and then a prime example with the new map generation bug makes him feel even worse

  • gilgamer
    gilgamer Member Posts: 2,209

The problem is I want to play but nothing feels fun. Like I want to play the game but then I launch it look at the killer roster feel no interest in any of them look at the survivor button and exit the game.

  • gilgamer
    gilgamer Member Posts: 2,209

I dont really like survivor and I never really have. The only thing that makes it fun is playing with friends and most of my friends that played have long since quit

  • gilgamer
    gilgamer Member Posts: 2,209

I've already done that and gotten bored of the things that I liked

  • gilgamer
    gilgamer Member Posts: 2,209

i already do that. It doesnt help that my other games are also getting boring

  • MisterMister

I have 7000 hours in this game and I still enjoy playing killer. I dont have a favorite, I play them all equally. I enjoy playing different builds, experimenting with off the wall play styles, I find it very enjoyable. Every killer has multiple play styles. If you go into every match with the same build and the same play style you will get tired of playing.

  • danielmaster87
    danielmaster87 Member Posts: 9,426

But how does that make him "broken" as in unfair in some way for the survivor? They're arguing that they're both weak and strong, because if they weren't strong, why complain?

  • Ayamir
    Ayamir Member Posts: 291

If you play too much DBD per day you might get bored because this game can be VERY frustrating and unpleasant to play sometimes.

I have 3.9k hours(PC+PS5) and there isn't much for players with that much playtime to learn I just try to "work" on my weaker killers such as Hillbilly Trickster and even Twins as I rarely play these killers and need to remove the rust

Also I am currently grinding to get my Oni to P100 and enjoying it never gets boring when playing your favorite killer that made you fall in love with the game

I don't get bored because I keep switching games modded Skyrim is still legendary Cyberpunk 2077 is finally playable after that disastrous launch back in 2020 and we're getting next gen version of Witcher 3 on December 14th.

I rarely get bored of playing certain games as I always like to switch and have variety in the games I play.

I won't tell you to just play another game or take a long break but you should try to take a very very little pause of 3/4 days of DBD then come back once the solo Q frustration is gone and hope for the best

And if you're looking for some competitive games try Overwatch 2 and make your way to top 500 got top 17 this season I was very proud after all the sweats and tears I spent on this miserable game it still has it flaws and Blizzard deserve to get all the hate they're currently getting(talking about that horrible monetization system)but gameplay wise the game is very fun since there is no more double shield like in OW1 I still miss 6v6 tho.

Try playing the game in different ways with different perks. I like to do Insidious scares by gens that are close to being completed. I go full skill check attack build or anti-heal. Anything but gens because I don't want matches to last forever. They can finish the gens or die but I am not interacting with gens. I only want to win chases and scare them.

Try to master all killers and take the game less seriously so you can have fun with it.

I have gotten dcs as demo because I got early downs, people tend to like demo if the player can be easily beaten.

It doesn't have to be a sad thing.

Recognising that DbD doesn't do it anymore for you and respectfully moving on is a lot better then those 2500 hour people who force themself to keep playing and do nothing but complain and spread negativity about the game

dont play too much, a few games a day keeps you from being burnt out. if you're already completely burnt out, give it a break, watch videos instead of playing, that might return you some willingness to play

I’ve got 1k hours in blight alone.. he still keeps me entertained, going for crazy flicks and techs is too much fun. Pushing the limits of his power. I’ve also gotten into DBD content creation on twitch and YouTube which has been refreshing for me.

I mean this game is blight for me, I only play a like 20 games a month at this point and my last blight game will be my last dbd game.

Play some really mean build that'll make survivor experience really un fun but creative.

Pinhead with the Iri add on to see his own box. Hex face the darkness, thrill of the hunt, stand still be undetectable, sloppy butcher. Job is to protect the box and let the chain hunt do all the work, they'll never be allowed to heal or do bones.

Pig with face mask, rule #2, Hex plaything, pentomento, then w/e perks either doctors map or RPD. They'll have al lot more than just gens they'll have to do and they're mostly blind.

Right now trying to perfect my dredge play, I know all the popular builds but now I'm trying to create my own style of playing dredge trying to find perks that synergize with some of the less popular add-ons for them like followers cowl and the caffeine tablets.

Progress is slow it's taking a lot of time to gets things right especially with SWFs bringing me to eyrie every other game but I'm learning a lot and have come up with some pretty interesting builds I think that feel pretty unique and don't even seem that bad so I'm happy with how things are going.

I sadly never get nice demos only the ones with sbfl and scream at you a lot hitting hook and making me go deaf. I miss the times when I got to like the demos who nod at you because the demo has one of the cutest nods in the game lol.
