The Thing About Camping and Tunneling...
Yes, yes, this again.
Bear with me.
Trying to knock out some survivor archives this afternoon, and also grading up a bit. The handful of folks I usually play with are away for the holidays, so I held my nose and dived into solo queue.
Game 1: Wesker. Annoying game, but I got hatch and managed to pip.
Game 2: Ghostface. I led him on a pretty lengthy chase right off the bat (Lethal Pursuer) and ended up getting facecamped. Fair enough, they tried to get me out but eventually had to give up, slam gens and leave.
Next game - Wesker. Won, pipped.
The next game - Legion. Gets a super early down and that survivor suicides. I got half a gen done before he tagged me, then got unlucky and had him hard tunnel me off the hook. Probably just fed up and trying to end fast - understandable. A few decent chases, but sure enough, he eventually got me.
Next game - Clown. We lost, but I pipped.
Final game of the afternoon - Bubba, doing what Bubbas do. I got someone off the hook while another player distracted him, but he caught me right after and I died on the hook, through Reassurance. Naturally penalized for 'unsafe unhook'.
What do those three games have in common? Well, because I was either unhooked or in chase for most of the game, I couldn't earn any grade points or much BP, and ended up back at zero pips, with little to nothing I could have done differently. Honestly, why is depipping still a thing?

I feel your pain. I didn’t pip many of games because of being in chase the whole time.

Something something gen speeds something something regression is needed blah blah blah, everyone sane in this community is a broken record, tunneling isn't fun to face, getting gen rushed isn't fun to face, we need a system that rewards 12 hooking and unhooking/healing other survivors, at this point I don't even feel like I'm writing words, I feel like people just read the first few and instantly know what I'm saying.

At least you understand the cause and effect of playing this game
But yes Depipping shouldn't be a thing in the game anymore... cause Pipping takes a lot of work and Depipping doesn't

Honestly, remove depipping, and give hooked Survivors BP if the Killer camps, to incentivize staying on the hook as long as possible instead of hook-DCing or feeling the sting of being removed early.

I don't see why the devs have not done it. Players would be ecstatic to stop depipping & get more BP.
It would, quite possibly, cut down on allot of toxic feelings and frustrations towards the gameplay loop.
