why is it so absolutely BS to gain pips as survivor?
you need to fix like 3.5 gens to get irid in lightbringer.
you need your teammates to go down several times then unhook them.
you yourself cant go down once
and for some reason, if the killer isnt literally 2 meters behind you, it doesnt even count as being chased.
as killer, if you got jolt, pain ressonance, eruption you basically get 3 irid by just chasing survivors.
hooking them, chasing them and damaging gens all at once.
its just so unfun and frustrating to play for pips as survivor, i hope we get a "Normal" gamemode where theres no pips.

Not exactly sure if I'd call pips "fine" - at least by comparison it is way easier to pip as killer, not least because you usually know which killer you can easily pip with if you're only one or two pips away. Be that because you're exceptionally good at them, their power/playstyle lends itself to pipping or you know they have lower MMR than another killer and thus matches are generally easier.
That being said while it is imo more difficult to pip as survivor it is true that the big, super frustrating and 100% useless mechanic of de-pipping is screwing survs over.

Pips can be a pain for solo survs but I think they'd be fine if the safety pip standard was lowered at higher grades, or if they just removed depips altogether.
