*5* Predictions Regarding The Announced Roadmap Changes:
Naturally, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
This refers to the recently announced upcoming changes, feel free to read them here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/362444/developer-update-year-7-roadmap-additions/p1
@Seanzu posted a nice summary.
1. Swamp reworked.
Peanits confirmed it won't be Badham (dammit) but Swamp is fine. I guess it could be RF, but meh.
2. Eruption is going to get Thana'd.
It would be nice if the perk was reworked a little to be better against SWF and not as silly against solo queue but...that's sadly not the precedent we have. When a regression perk is nerfed, it's generally 'to the ground and then salt the earth after'.
The problem with this is that we'll soon see a world where PR+DMS is the only reliable regression combo, and once it hits 50%+ usage rate that's almost certainly going to get nuked too.
Ugh.
3. Bots are being prototyped to replace DC/AFK cases in real trials.
That's just wonderful and frankly cannot come too soon.
4. Autobuy option for Bloodweb.
Yeah, this will be a great change.
5. Basekit Spinechill for all survivors. At least the distance indicator.
Yeah, I get it - a visual TR indicator is a solid accessibility win, and I appreciate it as someone who has one really crappy ear, but this is going to be a...pretty significant buff no matter how you slice it. Hopefully killers get some help to compensate.

It's not Swamp that gets a rework. It's the Disturbed Ward (Asylum and Chapel).
0 -
Didn't those just get a rework?
6 -
They already got reworked.
8 -
Yeah, it's going to be Swamp.
4 -
More boats on swamp pls
5 -
Could also be forest that gets rework since that hasn't been reworked either.
My biggest worry about the perk update is them nerfing perks that are in a good place just because they have high pick rate. It happened during first perk update, there were a bunch on both sides that got ridiculous nerfs when they were in a good spot just to make people not use them. I'm glad they're doing something about Eruption but I am nervous to see what perks get unnecessary nerfs or what low use perks get a ridiculous buff.
DBD mobile already has a visual terror radius so I'm really not too concerned about this. I'm hoping they'll add a killer FOV slider so there's some accessibility on that side.
I'm hoping for map pick rate they make it so you're guaranteed to not go to last realm you had a match in. Maybe change map offerings to guarantee not going to a specific realm - if certain ones are played often then obviously that realm should be looked at if players don't want to go there.

How is the visual cue for terror radius going to be strong enough for a killer compensation? Not trying to be judgmental of the thought, just a genuine question.
0 -
i think some people think it may be a constant visual around killer(similar to the knight's ability) but im hoping its just a visual on the survivors side when in said radius
at least my worry is a constant visual around killer could be bustedly survivor buff
1 -
What would be the visual indicator for TR?
Worst case scenario is a circle around the killer, which would be horrendous.
Seeing your heart the moment you enter the TR is another story, and is already done on mobile.
1 -
Visual TR has been a thing on mobile since its release, it was about time BHVR brought it to the main game too
4 -
the seeing your heart thing would be best case scenario imho, a circle around killer would legit make it impossible for killers to not start off planning a 3gen instantly
3 -
In what way is the visual terror radius a significant buff? It's the exact same information that is covered by the terror radius itself, it literally only brings those with hearing issues up to standard.
7 -
Because it's huge. Basically Spinechill baseline. Even as someone with solid hearing, it's substantially more accurate information and can be used to triangulate the killer's location at pretty much all times.
3 -
...But so can the terror radius? That's the entire purpose, it gets more intense the closer the killer gets to you. It's literally the exact same information as the current terror radius that is being proposed, just visual instead of audio-- which brings those with poor hearing up to speed, but doesn't offer anything beyond convenience to those who could already get that information from the current source.
Current Spine Chill only works like that because it covers for losing basekit information if you can't hear very well, the visual TR indicator isn't actually a bonus.
8 -
Here's the thing.
Sound is an imprecise measure. Visuals are substantially more precise - which is why you still see a lot of Spinechill and why it's a solid perk.
The same information but a lot easier to parse. Mark my words - it's a big big buff.

+1 for the Heart Animation, that would be significantly better than giving the killers the same "Visible Ring" treatment that the Knights Goons have. I mean Come on! if that were applied to killers, everyone would know their exact position at all times. The heart is much better because it doesn't give away the killers position, and just shows you if they are getting closer or further away based on how fast it's beating. Add in vibration feed back on a controller, and even the Deaf would have 2 ways of knowing how deep into a killers TR they are.

Agreed with most of these. Tbh I’d rather eruption be useless than in its current state since it’s just unhealthy for the game
I’d honestly love for temple of purgation to be moved to the forsaken boneyard realm as it would feel more fitting
4 -
I hope the visual terror radius will show only when you are already inside and won't be a circle, because in some maps, specially in closed ones it will be a huge survivor buff which not only benefict people with hearing issues, ALL the survivor will enable it. The visible heart of the mobile version of the game would be enough imo.
Also, the reworked map can be Red Forest (Mother's Dwelling and Temple of Purgation) instead the Swamp.
1 -
You...would?
I think that's an awful perspective. You're now deliberately aiming for a regression meta less varied than what we had before 6.1.0.
Yeah, we'll see. I was fine with the status icons, but this is like giving killers baseline Shadowborn. It's a great QOL improvement, but also probably a buff.
3 -
Temple of Purgation is in Red Forest because that's where ye olde priestess wandered off to: north from the Middle-East. So, if you head up past the Caspian and the Black Sea and then sort of wander westwards...

- Agree.
- Eruption needs a rework, it should have never shipped as is. However, number changes are simpler and require less man-hours.
- Hopefully.
- This seems to be likely.
- I'm not really worried about it. I use Spine Chill a lot, more for its Whispers ability. The TR indicator is nothing particularly impacting. You notice it only at the very edge of the TR, which is essentially silent, unless you're blasting your ears into deafness. On the same token, you don't want to start running at max range TR either. So, by the time it's the moment to leave, you already hear the heartbeat anyway. By comparison, colorblind options are much more impactful when used to highlight scratch marks.
4 -
Eruption - turn the incap into a gen block, increase regression to 15%. Boom.
I use SC a lot and it's nuts what you can do with it. I'm now at the point where I can pretty much tell where the killer is *mid chase* based on it alone. Baseline? That's powerful. That's baseline Kindred powerful.
3 -
So... eruption buff?...
Spine Chill's TR cue isn't directional. It doesn't tell where the killer is. Only how distant. Which id exactly what your ears can do.
3 -
It's neither a buff or a nerf in my eyes. I like StarLost suggestion for eruption bc it removes the thing everyone hates(the incap) but keep it strong. If you just remove the incap then all the perk become is a worst jolt. I know few ppl just like the perk to die but that's not good balancing or game design. Just because you hate a perk doesn't mean it needs to be nerfed to the point where it's completely useless. If that was true then DH should had been killed off with it's nerf but it didn't.
Personally I don't like it when a perk is nerf to the ground and made useless/niche. Killers already have so many perks that are like that now and I honestly hate it. I rather see all perks be made strong but fair. That's the only way you get variety in builds.

Just hope they don’t ruin CoB or OC since I see those getting thrown in there for no reason.
0 -
Both are unhealthy perks. Oppression for low skilled survivors is hell. CoB just shouldn't tell you when to go back to wait for that gen to regress fully.
I can't wait to be able to play music and dbd at the same time. Pls bring visual terror radius bhvr!
0 -
There’s nothing wrong with them, especially Overcharge.
3 -
Tell that to my beginner friends who have to play in my lobbies.
0 -
Shadowborn rework: survivors who hide in shadows and are unmoving get highlighted like during Dredges night-time until they move again. Somewhat fluffy, somewhat strong, but still niche.
0 -
Terror radius is imprecise because it was voluntarily made to be imprecise, not because it uses sound. You could as well implement it visually while keeping it imprecise. For example, they could add an indicator of killer's distance with 3 states: "Far", "Close", "Chase". Where did you find that they are going to make spinechill basekit? Because yeah that would be a buff, but that's not what accessibility means.
1 -
...What?
Mate, Oppression is a garbage tier perk. It's even mediocre in skillcheck builds. If you're new enough that an Oppression check isn't something you can hit at least half the time, you're new enough that you shouldn't be factored in to balance design.
CoB would be useless without the info.
2 -
If they're that new, then they've got a lot to learn first.
Also - I'm calling bull. Because you'd get used to it after like 3 games.
4 -
More holes in maps so we can get more JRM videos <3
0 -
Yes, my fleet must be ready
1 -
This is what i understood it to be, it doesn't show the direction of the killer, its just a heart that beats faster the closer the killer is, much like the sound at the moment.
0 -
You are vastly overestimating a beginners ability to hit a difficult skill check. They can't even hit normal skill checks. Hell even I sometimes have difficulty with overcharge skill checks every so often and I have thousands of hours and have done countless skill checks (even.. having dreams about them at times)
0 -
Haha I have DbD dreams too at times :)
That said - weird. I'm very experienced on killer but I've got maybe 250 hours tops on survivor, and aside from when I'm facing a Doctor I don't think I ever had issues with skill checks.
In a chase, especially in a blind loop, you can pinpoint the killer's location like this very easily. It makes shack just evil to run.
Could well? Sure.
Will? Doubtful. It's basically going to be Spinechill. I'll bet dollars to donuts on it.

Please rework the awful realm known as swamp. Looks awful, feels awful and is beyond dated. Although I know a lot of people like the elevation difference, but that really doesn't matter.
0 -
We'll see.
